Chapter Nineteen: No Other Way

"You're going to do what?!", The King shouted in rage, humiliation kicking in.

"You heard me. I offer to go myself, sneak inside Azackton's Dark Castle, and quietly carry Sasha back here to safety", Avery answered him harshly.

"Absolutely not. Did you have what little sense you possessed, to be beaten out of you?" Asked the King, heavily slamming his fist on the table.

"I love her and I would die for her love!" Avery shouted abruptly rising from his seat, with his fists clenched. "If I must die a horrific death for her sake, then it is a small price to pay!"

"Son, you are unwell. General Zauhn, kindly take him to his room. I will have a doctor examine him."

"Pardon me, your majesty, but I'm afraid to say that as we were residing in Princess Sasha's palace; Your son has fancied himself to be in love with her", Toru explained, rising.

"In love? There is no time for useless child's play. There is a homeland to save", yelled the King, still infuriated.

"Sirs, we will accompany Avery. Surely he will not go alone", Boru put in, laying his hand on the table.

"If he dies, then I too, will die", Halu cried, walking to Avery's side.

Tears glistening in his handsome eyes, Avery looked at his fellow knights, then questioningly to his father, the King of Cravon.

Gazing back compassionately at his only child and son, King Zarash, who was beginning to show signs of emotions, said quietly: "If they will go with you, O my son. Then save that girl."

Avery walked over to his father, both in tears, and embraced him, thanking him.

"I remember how it feels to be young and in love", the King said, chocking back sobs.

Later that evening, the knights having agreed on what manner to escape with the princess, a deal was struck, bargaining their own lives, for hers.
