Annalise lowered her head as she walked out of the room to avoid Beatrice's curious gaze. She knew what Beatrice must be thinking and she was thankful for Rafael sending her out before anything could be said. 

Beatrice waited for Annalise to be out of the room and let River step inside before closing the door. She folded her arms, watching her son who went back to eating. "Do not act like this is normal, Rafael. Your father and I came to visit you only to hear you were still in your room. With Annalise!"

"Quiet down, mother. She is just my personal maid. She comes here every morning to serve me," Rafael answered, refusing to look up. He would like to just eat to avoid answering his mother's questions.

"I have not forgotten that she is your maid, but what I find odd is the two of you sitting together eating breakfast in your bedroom. You were never like this," Beatrice said, feeling what she sensed the last time the two of them were at her home was correct.
