"Do you have to leave again?"

"No. We've taken care of the danger and now we get to stay at home with you. If anyone needs to leave again, it will just be your father. Your hair has grown a little longer since I left," Annalise said, inspecting the length of Rue's hair. "I hope you didn't give Lydia any trouble. You have to avoid stressing your older sister."

"I'm an older sister now too so I don't misbehave. Tell her," Rue said to Lydia.

"She doesn't," Lydia said to please Rue. She sat to the side watching Annalise try to tie Rue's ribbon once more before they could go down for dinner. "I don't want father to leave alone. Isn't it time that he retires? What if he is seriously injured?"
