Adam herded the sheep into the pasture, sweating profusely under the heat of the sun.

Lucifer observed Adam from a distance, perched on a hill overlooking the pasture. He had been following Adam for weeks now, learning more about him and his daily life. The simplicity of Adam's existence fascinated Lucifer beyond belief.

As Adam wiped the sweat from his brow, he caught sight of the strange figure on the hill. Intrigued, he approached cautiously, his eyes narrowing in curiosity. Lucifer made no attempt to hide himself, allowing Adam to approach.

"Who are you?" Adam asked, his voice cautious but not fearful.

This was the only problem Lucifer had on earth. No matter how often he reacted with these humans, their brain capacity simply couldn't keep up with the amount of information they were exposed to. So, naturally, he was forgotten over and over again.

"I am Lucifer," he replied, deciding to use his real name instead of a false identity. "I have been watching you, Adam."

Adam's eyes widened in surprise. "Watching me? Why?"

Lucifer offered a small smile. "I find your way of life fascinating. It's different from anything I've known before."

"I do what I must to survive and take care of the animals," Adam said, his gaze flickering back to the sheep.

"Survival," Lucifer mused. "It's a primal instinct shared by all living beings. But there's more to life than mere survival, isn't there?"

Adam looked thoughtful. "Perhaps. But my purpose is simple – to care for the earth and its creatures, to live in harmony with nature."

Lucifer nodded. "There's a certain purity in your purpose, Adam. It's something I have never seen, though I've told you this many times.

Adam tilted his head. "You seem different from the gods I've heard of. You're not like them."

"I am different," Lucifer admitted. "I once walked among them, but I do what I want."

"Why?" Adam asked, genuine curiosity in his eyes.

Lucifer hesitated, unsure of what to say. "Why do I do what I want?"

"Yes Mister angel- Lucifer."

"I questioned the ways of the gods, their authority and the order they imposed. It led me to make choices that set me apart from them. Besides, it's fun to do whatever, why should I let some other people control me?"

Adam nodded, seemingly accepting of his answer. "It sounds like you followed your own path, just like I try to do here. Though my purpose is definitely taking care of this land..."

"Yes," Lucifer said softly, "But sometimes, your purpose isn't your destiny..."

Adam looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Lucifer shook his head, realizing he was treading on dangerous ground, messing with fate more than he intended. "It's nothing, forget I said anything. I'm just an observer, nothing more."

Adam studied him for a moment before smiling. "Well, if you're an observer, you're welcome to stay and watch. Just don't scare the sheep."

"Haha... I promise I won't scare the sheep."

He watched Adam for a few more moments before flying over to the garden where Eve sat leaning against a tree, humming a tune and petting a small animal.

"Eve!" He yelled with a wave, drawing her attention as he landed next to the tree, smiling down on the first woman.

"Hello Mister Angel... Is there something you needed?"

Lucifer shrugged off her forgetfulness, it wasn't their fault they couldn't comprehend an existence such as him.

"Nothing in particular, I just thought I'd come and see how you're doing," Lucifer replied, his eyes scanning the lush garden around them.

Eve smiled warmly, her eyes holding a glint of curiosity. "You're always welcome here. It's just me and Adam, taking care of this beautiful place that the Maker has blessed us with."

Lucifer observed her closely, noting the contrast between her and Adam. While Adam seemed content with his simple purpose of tending to the earth and its creatures, Eve appeared to harbor a deeper sense of curiosity and longing.

"Do you ever wonder about your purpose, Eve?" Lucifer asked, unable to resist delving into her thoughts.

Her eyes sparkled with interest. "Of course, I do. I have this feeling inside, like there's something more I'm meant to do, something beyond taking care of the garden."

"And what do you imagine that could be?" Lucifer inquired, intrigued by her introspective nature.

Eve's gaze drifted to the distant horizon. "I don't know exactly. But sometimes, when I look at the animals and the plants, I feel a deep connection to them. I want to understand them better, to communicate with them beyond the simple ways we know now."

Her words resonated with Lucifer. He understood that desire for deeper connections and knowledge, for it was something he had also sought throughout his existence.

"Knowledge is a powerful thing," Lucifer said, choosing his words carefully. "It opens up new possibilities and helps us understand ourselves and the world around us."

Eve nodded, her eyes never leaving the horizon. "Exactly. I feel like there's so much more to learn, to explore, and I want to be a part of that."

Lucifer smiled at her enthusiasm, admiring her thirst for knowledge and understanding. It reminded him of his own journey through the vast expanse of creation, seeking answers and truths.

"You have a unique spirit, Eve," Lucifer said, admiration evident in his voice. "Embrace that curiosity, for it will lead you to remarkable discoveries."

It was a seed, albeit a small one, but a seed nonetheless.

As the day drew to a close, Eve bid Lucifer farewell, her mind still filled with thoughts of the possibilities that lay ahead. Lucifer watched her as she joined Adam by the river, both of them taking a moment to marvel at the beauty of the setting sun.

As he flew away, Lucifer couldn't help but feel a sense of kinship with these humans, especially with Eve. Her desire for knowledge and exploration reminded him of himself, and Adam was a unique being he wanted to study for eternity.

Unbeknownst to him, destiny was already in motion, weaving the threads of fate tighter and tighter, leading them all towards a momentous encounter that would change everything. But for now, Lucifer remained a silent observer, waiting for the right time to make his presence known once again.

Lucifer had no way of knowing the fruit he'd planted within eve, the fruit that would begin the downfall of humanity. Sometime, destiny is inevitable.
