In the Ant kingdom, a week later, Conrad was part of the entourage that welcomed Asada to their lands. He made sure that he wouldn't miss this. He was the highest elder at that moment present as Fiesty, and Morran were with Indicy trying to convince him of the match and prepare him for the fact that the Princess was to stay in their lands for a while.

Indicy sat in his throne room and looked at the two elders with a deadly gaze,

"You invited the princess and only informed me when she is here?"

"Your majesty, I deeply…" Fiesty started but was interrupted,

"I sent for the maiden," Queen May stated as she walked into the room closely followed by Mugda.

Indicy narrowed his eyes and look at Queen May, his mother, as she continued,

"Until when will you keep rejecting these matches? You are not getting any younger, and you have a responsibility to the crown! A royal heir is needed! I am not saying that you should make the girl queen but at least give some consideration and meet her…. I mean get to know her before you reject the offer", Queen May half-pleaded with him.

She was helped to a seat directly beneath the throne to the left of Indicy and Mugda sat beside her. Mugda had heard that the potential new Queen was to visit, and she wouldn't pass on a chance to see this person so she had intentionally paid a visit to Queen May when she knew that the Queen would be on her way to see Indicy on the matter.

Indicy sighed in his heart and nodded. As if on cue, princess Asada was ushered into the hall by Conrad along with all the other elders.

Asada was dressed in a long red dress that graced her body. This alone drew a frown from queen May as the royal red colours were to be worn by only the King in Ant kingdom. This was basic knowledge that was known far and wide, but she kept her sentiments to herself. Asada held herself elegantly as she came in. She had a veil that obscured her face from all, and this was a further demerit for her and this time, it was from even the elders and not just the Queen.

Mugda muttered to herself, "everyone with 'untold beauty' flaunts it but this princess makes noise about it and hides it? It makes me wonder if she is the beauty, they say she is, if no one has lived to tell the tale", She added sarcastically.

Queen May heard this even though she wasn't intended to and for once agreed with Princess Mugda.

Asada bowed slightly in front of the throne, but Indicy got up and started leaving to the dismay of all.

"Your majesty?" Fiesty called out,

Indicy paused and threw these words over his shoulders,

"Give her whatever she needs to make her feel welcomed" … and then he left.

Most in the room were puzzled but Queen May knew her son and realised why he had left. Once upon a time, she was not as docile as she looked today. She got up to follow her son but paused by Asada and said, "You came to meet a possible suitor and you have your face covered? Are we supposed to assume that you look like your veil?"

Then, Queen May said loud enough for all to hear, "Mugda, settle Princess Asada in one of the unused palaces and do as the King says."

Queen May found Indicy in his library and sat by him. She tried without success to convince him of the match. She thought to herself, "He has never been this impossible to deal with. Is this possibly about the maid I've heard about?" so she asked him. Even though he did not reply, she saw his face soften slightly as he thought of something. Queen May sighed and said to him,

"Indicy, we cannot pair you to a maid with no origins. You are the King and must bear the responsibility for that title. You cannot allow calamity to befall the land. You know what I am referring to, so please!" she pleaded with him.

"How about we take her as one of the Hanwisan women, then you can still have relations with her… thi.." She did not finish the statement when she felt Indicy's gaze turn cold. He did not say anything but for the first time in her life, Queen May felt fear, and from none other than her own son! She did not dare say anything else and excused herself from his palace.

Lendon was also in the library and had hidden when the Queen had entered. She had been escorted there by Alan as instructed by Indicy. The conversation between mother and son had confirmed what she knew already; the King held sentiments for her. This made her scared as she knew this was prohibited. She felt a shadow hover over her where she had squatted behind a shelf. She looked up and saw him standing above her. She got up slowly and bowed slightly. Indicy entrapped her between the shelf with his two arms on either side of her body and asked gently,

"When are you going to let me see you? You always have the hair bangs all over" he whispered very close to her and blew warm air on the side of her face in the process. She couldn't retreat any further and only stood there squirming. Indicy noticed this and chuckled. He lifted her head with his fingers but did not move the hair out of her face. He stared deep into her brown eyes, and she did the same. She told herself several times to look away but as if by an unseen string, she couldn't.

She observed his facial features and his long hair. She wished that she could run her hands through it. Lendon's eyes widened a little as she said to herself, "What am I thinking of?" she blushed and tried to look away, but Indicy prevented her. He smiled at her and released her chin as he simultaneously lightly brushed his index finger on her nose and whispered in her ear, "I wonder what you thought of that made you as red as a tomato." He dropped his hand while chuckling and stepped back and Lendon now blushing furiously, quickly walked out of the library.

Aile on behalf of Mugda, helped Asada settle into her new palace and gave her, extra maids that could help her and these included Tarragon.

Mugda listened to the activities of Asada from Tarragon. Tarragon was to serve as a double-edged sword; serve the new princess and report her activities to Mugda and she did diligently once every couple of days. After she had recounted everything, Mugda remained quiet for some time and then asked Aile,

"Are you sure this is the same princess we heard about before she got here? I seriously doubt it" she added thoughtfully.

Aile replied, "Yes, it should probably be the same person as she is the only girl unless…"

"She is supposed to be beautiful and kind as we-…" Aile was interrupted when Mugda said sarcastically for all to hear,

"Kindness my arse!"

Aile was used to the foul language from the princess, but she hoped that she would not use it in front of everyone as walls had ears. She exhaled loudly as the whole room of attendants burst out laughing upon hearing it. But was she far from the truth? That remained to be seen.

Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye, Asada sat in her new palace and lamented because, in those two weeks, she had only seen princess Mugda. After the Queen's last words to her when she arrived, she had not heard from her again. Those words had made her so angry for days after, and Agnes barely managed to calm her down. Her only frequent visitor was the third elder and she was growing tired of the man.

She called out to one of the maids assigned to her who happened to be Tarragon. Asada had stayed in the palace long enough to hear of the 'king's girl' and had investigated to find out that she was Tarragon's roommate hence she called for her. She was annoyed that a mere maid could get the King's attention when she, a princess, had tried to no avail even in seeking audience with him!

"I want that maid to be assigned to my palace!" she told Agnes.

Agnes nodded as she knew what to do. She was proud of her princess for now openly stating whatever she wanted. Asada had been feeling miserable these past days and Agnes knew she had to do anything to make her happy before King Jeer arrived.

Asada addressed Tarragon,

"I heard you know of the 'king's girl'?"

"Yes milady, that will be Lendon" Tarragon replied.

"So, that's her name," Asada said and spaced out thoughtfully.

Agnes jumped in and said, "She is now to be assigned to this palace so go and get her here".

"Th-is, I mean, that will be impossible milady. She is in the King's palace so…" Thalia told them and paused.

"The king himself said that my lady is to get any resource and 'person' she needed or wanted, and he said it in front of all the elders and the royal family."

"We will reward you handsomely if you can get her here, in the least," Agnes added.

Tarragon remained quiet for a while and nodded. She said,

"Lendon comes back every few days to gather some herbs and potions, so I'll bring her here when she does,"

Asada and Agnes felt relieved and dismissed the girl. As Tarragon walked away, she told herself that, Lendon betrayed her trust first, so it was okay if she made some money off her. And she did; she brought Lendon to Asada's palace a few days later.

When Lendon entered, she bowed and remained in that posture. Asada got up from her seat and walked around her and examined her. She said out loud,

So, this is her? "She is not much to look at!" she thought but said out loud, "And what is with these clothes? You look ridiculous, hahahaha! hahahaha!"

Muffled laughter was heard from Agnes and Thalia as well, but Lendon did not budge nor make any reaction.

"There is nothing beautiful about this slut, she is just … shabby and … ugly," Asada burst out laughing again and scrunched up her nose as if she had smelt something bad.

She tried to lift her bangs, but Lendon finally reacted and took a step back from her … and that irked her because Asada swung her arms widely and *paaah!!!* she slapped Lendon with a mighty force that made her take another step back.

Lendon held her cheeks but remained bowed and did not let out a sound. This seemed to infuriate Asada more and also because her hand hurt from giving the slap.

Agnes, then walked in behind Lendon and forced her to her knees by kicking her behind the knees. Lendon cried out when her knees hit the bare floor. She wondered what she was requested for, but seem to come to a realisation. Asada bent down in front of Lendon and said,

"If you do not exist, then no one would take the King's attention from me!"

Before anyone could figure out what she meant, the princess grabbed a nearby chair and hit Lendon with it … without any restraint. Agnes and Tarragon who were in the room as well gasped in unison as Lendon fell sideways with blood oozing out of her head.

But Princess Asada did not stop there even amidst the gasps, but kicked Lendon in chest area as she lay there bleeding but Lendon tried to protect herself by crossing her arms over her chest as she grunted quietly on the ground and she gritted her teeth in pain.

"An ugly girl like you cannot be a hindrance to my path to queendom!"

Huffing as if she had done a strenuous exercise, Asada walked elegantly and grabbed her teacup, she sipped it and tried to savour the taste of the tea but then scrunched her face up…

"She has muddled the taste," she stated as she walked back to her and spat the mouthful on Lendon' s now almost unmovable body…

A few moments before, Indicy sat having a snack with Dude as he described his interaction with Lendon to him.

"… she looked as red as a tomato, and I just wanted to crush her tightly in my arms"

Dude, "…"

Dude face palmed himself and said,

"Indicy, I have told you several times to read the books in the forbidden section of your own library to educate yourself a bit. What are you even saying? Hahaha! I guess what you want to say is that 'She blushed, and you wanted to hug her.' But Indicy, you don't even need those books for this, this is COMMON knowledge … Jeez!"

Indicy looked at him and said, "Forbidden books are forbidden for a reason, yo-"

Indicy stopped mid-sentence and held his chest as he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He grunted one word: "Lendon!" and got up while his face turned icy cold. He rushed out of the room to the astonishment of Dude.
