Vengeance

"Is the job done?"

"Yes boss, the bombs are in place."

The remainder of Lansky's men, the pure loyalists had not fled even after the SIO raid. The Terranova was a major threat now since their captain, Damian was now in the custody of the SIO. If they win the case in court, they would not rest until Victor was dead. Victor was very well aware of his enemies surrounding him and creeping closer. This was his final ploy to ensure his survival. He held his weapon and shield ready to strike.

He was a mafia boss who had held on an entire part of Watford. There was no way he would let his gang to topple down just because of the loss of properties or a leaked video. His gang was a mix of loyalists and money mongers so this was not a shocking situation for him. The only blow he felt was that Dominic survived his attack. He recollected himself and made a new game plan and once it was in motion, the next step was to use Terranova's weakness. He places a call to the Terranova's boss himself.

"Hello Eric Terranova.."

"What do you want Victor?"

"I propose a deal."

"What makes you think that I would make a deal with you?"

"Your brother's case. I can send you the video clipping of his torture to turn the case to his favour. In return, you just have to help me escape."

"...."

"What do you say?"

"Knock Knock Victor"

A gun shot alerted every single gang member. They were like rats in a trap since the perimeter had been surrounded by Terranova's men. The situation was very unfavourable for the Lansky gang as their strength became low after the raid. Victor sunk into his chair and placed the phone back to his ear.

"Ah, your damned brother placed a tracking device huh?"

"Any last words, Victor?"

"...."

"No?"

"Your brother's cell in SIO has a powerful bomb rigged to it and I hold the trigger. So, no sudden movements, Terranova."

The phone call cut off abruptly and Victor smirked victoriously.

A few minutes later, Victor called Eric again. Too much time given to the Terranova would be dangerous. He had to reap the benefits while he still held the advantage.

"I know that you are desperately trying to contact the SIO, Eric but I can't wait that long and my fingers are itchy. So here's the deal. You help me escape the SIO and in return, I send the video, spare your brother and as a extra bonus...kill the hidden pest that is trying to pose as the witness in your brother's case."

"Deal."

"Good choice."

Meanwhile, Eric made an escape route for Victor and soon received response from the SIO after a few minutes that the bomb was being defused. It was a complex structured bomb so time was an essential.

Landon Terranova enters the office.

"What is all this mess, Eric!?" he questioned gruffly.

"A major screwup by Damian, father. His plan to infiltrate and destroy the Lansky's failed."

"Sending your brother for this ruse...he would get killed if he implements half the ideas that runs in his head."

"He deserves a chance, father. This proved to be a valuable lesson for him."

They both discuss for a while, smoking cigars. The room is foggy due to the smoke but still remains bright due to the chandeliers.

"What about Victor? We will look weak if we do every bidding of his."

"No, rest assured for he won't leave Watford alive."

After our team's breakup and a day off from work, Diana and I were back at the station to sort out the work lagging behind. We were used to heavy workload but today was more strenuous than usual. We barely spoke and there were only a few sighs now and then from Diana. The mood remained rigid eventhough we both were trying to move on. It was our fault for trying to build a friendship against the terms of the agreement. But this was just a temporary hitch for I am sure that we will bounce back on track.

The phone rang and the caller ID made me apprehensive. Diana moved closer on seeing Nate's name.

"What is it Nate?"

"Derek! Get Diana and get outta there! There's a bomb in your station!! Get out now!!"
