CHAPTER F I V E

The king fell asleep soon after, and when he woke up he had a massive headache - probably because he only had three hours of sleep. He got up and washed his face while still thinking about the little princess.

He called after the maid and within two minutes three maids entered his room after knocking.

"make a buffet with lots of sweets" The king ordered the maids. What was the reason for it you're probably wondering?

He wanted to eat with the little princess since he couldn't get her out of his head. And he knew children liked cakes and sweets so he wanted to prepare a buffet for her. He hated himself to give in but after thinking it through last night he made up his mind. He would give her a chance since she's the only candidate for the next ruler of his kingdom. But she has to go through tough training to become the empress, he thought.

"Get Augustus" The king ordered the last maid who was still in his room. The maid bowed to show that she understood his order and left to find Augustus.

After quite a long time Augustus appeared.

"How can I help you today your majesty?" Augustus bowed his head. He knew that he shouldn't joke with the king for a long time because Valdemar was still angry.

"Get her" The king ordered Augustus.

"Pardon?" Augustus couldn't understand him. Did he really want to see the princess again?

"Get her and tell Mary and the other maids that she will live here from now on until further notice" Valdemar glared at Augustus.

Augustus was shocked, he refused to let the king toy around with the little princess.

"Your majesty I understand your feelings but I refuse to let you treat the princess horribly"

"Augustus know your place, don't forget that she's my daughter" The king snapped back.

"Your majesty don't forget that I'm her godfather, you weren't even there on the day she was born" Augustus was probably the only person that dared to go against his majesty. They were best friends after all.

"Augustus, do you wish to die?" The king asked the royal soldier. Augustus didn't want to upset the king even more so he accepted his order.

"But promise me that you won't push her away this time," Augustus said before he left to get the little princess.

He walked alone to the house where the princess lived, he was after all the most skilled soldier in the kingdom, he was even acknowledged by other countries as the most powerful soldier. That's why the king could walk everywhere without 100 guards behind him to protect himself - Augustus did the job alone.

He was now in front of the house, he knocked on the door waiting patiently for one of the maids to open the door.

Mary looked through the window to see who it was and as soon as she saw the royal symbol she opened the door.

"Sorry for making you wait" Mary bowed her head.

"don't worry" Augustus replied.

"I'm here to take the princess" He started out.

Everyone in the house looked shocked.

"Oh don't misunderstand, the king wants her to live in the palace" Augustus smiled.

"Why would the king want her to live there now? He has been neglecting the princess her whole life why now?" Mary cried out. She didn't want to let the king have Rory, yes of course he was her father but Mary knew well enough that the king was coldhearted. She couldn't even imagine what kind of things he would do to the princess.

"You can ask his majesty yourself, I don't have time to be here, pack her bags. I'll take her now and someone will come later to pick her stuff" Augustus replied. He was aware of why the king wanted to be with Rory, but he didn't want to give any information to a mere maid he thought.

"Please don't make her suffer" Was the only thing Mary could say, after all, it was the king's request to have Rory, only fools would go against his majesty.

"Don't worry I will protect her" Augustus smiled. And as soon as he said that the four-year-old came out of her room. It was breakfast time so it was time for her to eat when she noticed a familiar face. Who was he again? she thought.

"Rory my dear come here" Mary gestured to the princess to come towards her.

"Mary, who is dish man?" Rory tilted her head. She was sure that she had seen him somewhere but she couldn't remember where. Mary and Augustus began to laugh because of how cute she was pronouncing 'this' instead she had pronounced it as 'dish'.

"Ahh dreamies" Rory giggled.

"Dreamies?" Augustus and Mary repeated after her.

"Yesh I saw you in my dream" Rory giggled as she pulled the soldiers' robe.

"Oh that's what you meant with dreamies, so you saw me in your dream?" Augustus lifted Rory to carry her.

"Yesh was your name again?" Rory asked Augustus.

"You called me Augy if I remember it correctly" Augustus patted her head.

"Oh, yeash Mr. Augy I remember now" Rory smiled.

"Does Rory want to eat cake today also?" Augustus asked the princess.

"Yesh!!" Rory yelled as she was too excited.

Rory said farewell to Mary and the other maids not knowing that she wouldn't meet them for a long time. Augustus carried the princess all the way to the palace and it was now time for her to eat breakfast with the king. Rory didn't know that, she was just convinced because Augustus had promised her cake.

"Come in" The king gave them permission to come inside the dining hall.

"Oh you're Mr. rude from dreamies" Rory pointed at the king.

"Mr. rude?" The king tilted his head asking the princess what she meant.

"Yes in my dreamy you scolded me" Rory frowned.

"I scolded you in your dream?" The king asked the princess.

Rory couldn't hear him, all she was thinking about was the sweets in front of her.

"Sit down and eat" The king tried his best to ask her nicely without sounding too harsh.

"Thank you" Rory replied before she began to eat. The king didn't even take a single bite, he only stared at the little princess.

Rory noticed Augustus not eating with them so she lifted her spoon gesturing to him that he should take a bite.

"Mr. Augy eat dish" Rory looked at Augustus with her puppy eyes. She didn't like to share her sweets but Augustus was so sweet to her so she offered him a bite.

"Why do you call him Mr. Augy and you're calling me Mr. rude?" The king glared at Augustus. Even though Augustus didn't do anything wrong he felt like he did something wrong.

"Because Mr. Augy is nice to me" Rory smiled.

Augustus looked so proud at the moment before the king decided to ruin it.

"Augustus leave us alone it is stuffy in here" The king gave an evil smirk. Augustus was so mad at the king, just because she likes me more than you doesn't mean you have to be such an asshole Augustus thought to himself.

"Your majesty, could it be that perhaps you are jealous?" Augustus smirked.

"Do you wish to die today?" The king ended their conversation.

"No your majesty, Rory I'll see you after you're done eating alrighty?" Augustus waved his hands.
