10 The Fear

"Not only kidnapped, Olivia. You do have some powers and contacts with yourself too." His words cut her heart like a piece of cake.

She can feel the throating pain inside her body as if she was thunderstruck from top to bottom. She wanted to protest but stopped herself from uttering anything.

After all, at this point, everything she will say will make him more astonished. Her explanation might appear as a joke or an excuse to him.

With deep quiet silence in the place, the thick atmosphere suddenly erupted when the sound of a call was heard. Lucas's phone rang and seeing the dialer, he walked away from the place going outside of the villa.

While Taylor's family were scared to death, to even move an inch but Olivia's fury was currently on the next level. All she was doing, for that person and he simply blamed her for everything that happened?

Looking at Lucas's back, she swore in her mind, 'If you think I have done anything to Jennifer, trust me Lucas you will soon realize your mistake of taking me for over granting.'

Her nails dug deeper into her hand. Eyes turned chiller with a sim and determination in them. Her love for him was much deeper but it might turn her obsession if he continues to put her in difficult situations.

At the same time, Amelia saw Lucas leaving and a sigh escaped from her mouth. She looked at Olivia who stood with them at the same place and asked with the courage that was still present in her deep heart.

"Ms. Olivia.. will we be able to get what Lucas has promised us? I mean the business share and..the house.. can you tell. him to get it done quickly s-" she shuts her mouth instantly when Olivia passes them a chilling glare.

David motioned her to shut her mouth and not to speak in between where Amelia downcast her face in shame and fear.

A grin appeared on Olivia's lips when she replied, "If Jennifer isn't found then your family will surely be killed under Lucas's order."

Instead of feeling the excitement of the wedding, or anything that they were going to receive, the family's heart was filled with dread and uneasiness.

Noticing the family's fear-filled eyes, her lips lifted upwards in satisfaction. "So, better try to find her as soon as possible otherwise don't blame us for being rude to you guys."

With her last words, Olivia walked off the place with her head high. So what if Lucas put the blame on her? She knows she has done nothing wrong related to his wedding and no one can blame her either.

'At least my one simple threat is worth sending people into constant fear.' Her pride in being Lucas's assistant kept her face glow and deepened her urge to find this damn kidnapper soon.

Lucas stepped out of the villa in the huge garden. He picked up the call instantly, and adjusted his voice into a more smoothing one, "How are you grandfather?"

"You have committed a mistake, Lucas. You let the bride run away so easily? She was especially kidnapped under your nose! How can you let that happen?" The stern voice almost made Lucas's spine feel the cold.

With A fake smile, he laughed, "Oh.. no greetings and anything?"

"What you have done is more disgraceful to the entire family. You were aware how important this marriage was for us to have our standing?"

Lucas can only feel frustrated. Though his grandfather was talking with respect and patience, it was now less any slap on his face that he failed to marry a simple girl, who literally has no powers.

"I do know that grandfather. My team is working on it, soon I will be able to find the kidnapper and bring her back to our states. There won't be any other kind of mistake…" He was powerful but still, there was the decent respect that he has to show to the last Mafia man.

His anger was reaching into his mind but there was no choice in his hands. Everything happened so fast and the kidnapper was so smart who left no clue behind.

This is almost breaking his mind into pieces. How perfectionist is that person? He even avoided all the cameras in the household which itself wasn't an easy task, to begin with.

"Get the girl back before someone else gets their hand on her and knows about her real-life before us. We don't want to lose things because of your stupid carelessness of not amounting proper security."

"Do not worry, no one has that amount of courage to dig into her background and to know the real truth. She is with us, and will soon be back as well." Lucas's voice was more flat than usual.

The girl wasn't his love, but the power she holds is also unknown to her. Before she discovers her own secret, he has to seize her into his cage and grasp all of her powers into his hands.

Otherwise, how will their state rise to another level of highness? With the smirk on his face, thinking about the plan that he has built, he can't help but feel overconfidence.

"Take care of yourself, you will have the good news very soon." Lucas answered.

"Clean up the mess that you created. Your mother is already upset with the rumors that have been flooding out. She doesn't want others to tease her anymore. Patch your works immediately!"
