1 Prologue

In an endless black void a nameless soul can be seen drifting, contemplating its current situation. As an insignificant peon in the larger scheme of things, perhaps a bit more intelligent than the average peon, but a peon nonetheless.

It lived a meaningless life, and died a meaningless death at just 16 years of age, but it finds itself wondering.

'Is this this a normal situation after death or am I in for a surprise? It sure is peaceful though, I wouldn't mind spending some more time here.'

That is right, rather than being shaken by its untimely death the soul ponders if maybe, just maybe death holds a second chance at a meaningful life, full of adventure and so, excitement begins to swirl around in its mind as all manner of delusions take over.

'If i'm being reincarnated can I choose the world? Are fictional worlds even available? Do I get wishes? An OP system? What about plot armor and the protagonist aura that makes everything go your way? Do those come in the reincarnator package? Man with the legendary protagonist aura even I can get a harem right? Haa . . . I'm blissful just thinking about it.'

Unbeknownst to it an immensely powerful being was watching this process with interest.

'Hmm, a lost soul has wandered of the cycle of reincarnation and entered the void of nothingness. Even more interesting, his soul feels right at home when normally it should have been dispersed.'

'Well in any case, it needs to tossed back into the cycle but since I'm feeling generous how about making some of his interesting delusions a reality.'

As the godlike being thinks this, he reveals his presence to the nameless soul.

"Greetings lost soul."

Acknowledging the presence of the being that interrupted its delusions, the soul immediately fired a series of questions.

"Whoa! Are you god? Am I going to be reincarnated? More importantly, DO I GET WISHES?"

Hearing the rapid fire questions, the being merely said.

"Calm down and I shall explain you situation alright?"

The soul then answered as it tried to calm itself down.

"Okay, fair enough, calming down in 3, 2, 1." Following this the soul became quiet and still while gazing intently at the being before it, waiting for the promised explanation.

While a bit speechless at first, the being started explaining.

"First of all, yes, I am god and you will be reincarnated into the word of Naruto with not one, not two but a whole three gifts!"

Before such good news the soul's tension started rising once more.

"Awesome! What should I pick maybe an Otsutsuki bloodline to keep things in-universe, or perhaps . . ."

Despite the soul's excitement over its prospective gifts, god had other plans.

"Before you get to excited I must tell you that two of your gifts will have restrictions." God spoke with a careless tone.

The soul could feel all of its dreams of effortless opness shatter as it asked.

"What do you mean restrictions?!"

"Well, while unrestricted gifts would mean both an easier and more fun life for you, it wouldn't be that much fun for me and since I'm god, all you puny, expendable mortals have no choice but to acquiesce to my decree."

". . ." Speechless from god's reasoning the soul started to consider the current situation and the formulated its response.

"Even though you have a terrible personality, I can see you point so, I'd like some specifics about my gifts."

"Hmm, such a calm and reasonable response . . . I am honestly a bit disappointed but oh well"

Instantly a tick mark appeared on the soul's temple but ignoring that, god calmly continued.

"You three gifts are: The Gift of Transcendence, The Gift of Home and finally, The Gift of Legacy. Which one would you like to hear about first?"

The soul, although calm once again, responded without much thought.

"Just explain them in the order you announced them in."

"As you wish. Then first we have The Gift of Transcendence, this one is not from me, instead, it arises from your escape from the cycle of reincarnation into the Void of Nothingness where we are now. In a way you have transcended samsara and as such, even if you are not aware of it, the experience has marked you, allowing you to comprehend esoteric subjects and complicated information much more easily as well as sublimating your soul making it far more resilient in fact even if you reincarnated normally your memories would be retained thus, a third of my job is already done!"

Hearing the first explanation, the soul immediately intervened.

"If you had nothing to do with it then it shouldn't count towards the three gifts! It sounds like you just wanted to have fun and chose a soul that would save you the most effort!"

Masterfully ignoring the soul's exceedingly accurate complaint, god continued with his explanation.

"The second gift, The Gift of Home is, as the name implies, the ability to choose your home in the Naruto world, in other words, choose the person who will act as your guardian. So who will it be?"

And with god's question, the soul instantly abandoned its useless resentment and fell into thought. It seemed that before benefits the soul would quickly forget resentments. What a pragmatic way of living!

"Hmm, who should I pick? A resident of Konoha would be best to make the most out of my knowledge from the series and, as a man of culture, my guardian will have to be a beauty . . ."

As the soul went through its thoughts something came to mind and so it asked god a question.

"Will my existence cause cause a change in the character directly?"

"If your asking whether changes will be made to the individual to accommodate your existence, the answer is no, you will simply be put in their path in such a way that they will take you in, however, being the guardian of a child may cause change in the individual's worldview and the course their lives will take."

"Thanks for the explanation." Answered the soul as it fell into thought once more.

"I was on the fence between Tsunade and Kurenai but, if I assume that becoming my guardian will shake her out of her self destructive habits, Tsunade is the better choice, more authority in the village, a wealth of knowledge to teach me, but Kurenai is a more surefire option to be settled in the village without relying on deviations from the story my appearance may or may not cause . . . Hmm, I'll take a chance and go with Tsunade I think . . ."

"For the Gift of Home I choose Tsunade!" The soul announced.

"Interesting . . . It shall be so." God replied to the soul's choice before explaining the final gift.

"Now then, the first two gifts are settled so let us move on to the last. The Gift of Legacy, as the name implies, will grant you the complete legacy of a lineage originating from the world of Naruto. This means you will receive a sort of mental library containing all of that lineage's history and knowledge, as well as a body perfectly suited to performing all their techniques. Now think carefully before deciding on the legacy you want."

Armed with the knowledge of the final gift, the soul immediately fired of its desires without any any sort of consideration.

"Otsutsuki! I pick the Otsutsuki legacy for my final gift!"

God merely grinned deviously, then with a face begging to be punched, he said.

"Nope! Not possible!"

The soul furiously started, with barely contained rage.

"Youuu! What do you mean by -"

Suddenly interrupting, god advised the soul in a mocking tone.

"Now, now, why don'tcha carefully think about my explanation of the Gift of Legacy uuunnh?"

'This shitty god with a shittier personality' The soul thought.

'Uhh, lets calm down. Okay then think back to the explanation . . .'

Ignoring god's extremely punchable face the soul tried to focus. As it reviewed the previous explanation in its mind the soul still couldn't figure out why it was the otsutsuki an invalid choice.

"Can't figure it out can ya. Well if you ask politely, i guueess I could tell ya. Hunh, how about it?" God mockingly asked trying to provoke the soul to have some fun.

"Please explain why my choice is invalid!" Said the soul with a bright smile and spirited tone.

". . . " God became simply speechless at the souls uncaring attitude of lacking self respect and looking for the easy want out, without the slightest sense of unbending will a protagonist should have.

'Shouldn't it go - "Huh I will figure it out myself! Don't think I'm just a toy for your amusement!" - or something like that! Then I would reward such a strong will and unbending backbone with an explanation! Well, whatever'

And so slightly coughing, trying to recover from having his rhythm disrupted by the unexpected response god continued.

"Cough, cough, well then since you asked so nicely it's like this . . ."
