Chapter 18: Test (2)

The training ground set aside just for Team Three looked more like a large green meadow with tall trees on the sides and back and some wooden dummies.

However, the dummies were somewhat distant and isolated from natural objects, and there is currently real chaos happening. 

The aggressively moving Guy in the green jumpsuit caused mini-earthquakes and a massive hurricane of winds.

Guy's silhouette was the most blurry and confusing due to his increased speed.

Tenten followed Rock's "order" obediently sat on a thick branch of a fairly distant sturdy oak, and attacked him with shuriken and kunai from a safe distance.

However, Guy was moving so quickly that she was unable to hit him, and Guy purposely interfered with her attacks and accelerated so quickly that all of her throwing weapons passed through him.

Why so? 

The reason for this is that Might Guy was too strong for Gennins.

Therefore, Guy was fighting Lee and Neji close up. They were trying to win, but that was just a waste of time, and they just wanted to stay alive now.

After all, Guy before them was truly a beast of Konoha. 

However, Rock and Neji were not easy targets because they never seemed idle.

They were doing poorly, but they managed, and it was clear they wouldn't give up as long as there was still a chance to shine and show themselves!

'It's not the time to panic. I need to think and try to catch Guy-sensei somehow.'

Lee pondered in his mind as chakra flowed through him and around his Tenketsu. 

The world seemed ready to stop in front of his eyes to give him a chance to think...

Mighty Guy pushed forward with a heavy fist, aiming at Lee whose eyes no longer showed the same cheerfulness.

 Rock was tired of constantly dodging attacks without a break, especially since Guy had stopped attacking Neji and was now only focusing on him.

In such a situation, Lee understood that there was only one option left either find a way out of the problem or move forward. 

"Here goes nothing!" 

Rock yelled to himself and stopped dodging blows so that he could also attack Might Guy. 

He went for that spot on his right side that he couldn't see and should have moved backward to avoid being hit by Guy.

Neji stood behind Guy and clenched his fingers to make a blue chakra flame ready to hit him in the Tenketsu in that part of the torso. 

Therefore, it looked like a good plan, and Guy would suffer damage but not them.

It could be said that teamwork was established through simple nods. 

Tenten couldn't directly help with the battle. 

She could only do so from a distance, which was hard for her because she didn't want to hit her team coming at Guy from both sides, but...

However, it completely changed the situation and crushed Team Three's fighting spirit.

Might Guy didn't retreat from Lee's attacks with his right hand, leg, and Neji's traps.

Instead, he quickly and aggressively closed in on Lee while hoping to quickly grab him by his clothes and then throw him back at Neji.

They were both thrown several meters away and landed on the loose ground like broken, dirty dolls without strength or energy.

However, Guy dealt with Tenten a bit differently, but still with the ruthless manner of a true high-ranking Shinobi.

He quickly and skillfully picked up a shuriken lying nearby and threw it at Tenten's head as if looking at her with eagle eyes. 

Fortunately, she was able to sense the danger and quickly made a hand that made a tree stump appear on the branch instead of her.

The stump then caught the sharp shuriken and fell, but Tenten appeared in a smoke technique next to Rock. 

Neji desperately tried to stand up but was completely hurt.

A total failure!

"Lee, you wanted me to retreat, but I acted the opposite way. You had only one plan, but there should be more. You're too easy to read because you only attacked the right side of your body. You have to learn to work with your left as well."

"You, Neji, simply fell into the trap and acted too slowly. How many opportunities did you miss to launch an attack because you were waiting for the right opportunity? You should do better and be more determined in this regard."

"What about you, Tenten? You held your position well and demonstrated excellent mastery of the Body Replacement Technique but! You didn't do anything significant, just like your comrade Neji. Do not be scared to attack because attacking is to win! However, I am satisfied with your teamwork and your Power of Youth. My verdict for today is..." 

Might Guy approached them with a calm smile, ready to provide feedback. 

However, they didn't give him a chance to finish his lecture.

"Oh, come on, Guy-sensei! How's that possible? We haven't finished yet! You just tossed me over and bumped me against that arrogant and cowardly Neji Hyuga once... Do you really think that's enough to make me give up?"

Lee briskly got up from the ground and assumed a fighting stance, but it was already different from his usual one which surprised everyone.

He was covered in dust, and there was even a layer on his eyebrows, but the determination of purpose in his eyes didn't disappear. 

"Hm?"

Guy looked straight at him, then chuckled and smiled even wider.

"Well, well, maybe I underestimate you guys too much. I think it's too early to write you off, right?"

Neji obviously did what Lee did and breathed out. 

He was able to stand up even though his bones and joints were stiff from the hits and dodges he had been enduring recently. 

Therefore, Tenten also couldn't stay aside, even though she didn't want to.

She also wanted to fight with them and not be a deadweight on the team. 

She wasn't completely satisfied with her current situation of hiding in the trees and throwing different kinds of weapons from there.

"So, is it the second round then?"

Guy asked, smiling happily and feeling proud that his students weren't giving up.

As for Rock, he thought...

'Why do I feel like some extremely mannered shonen protagonist?'
