11 The Advancements

Lucas POV:

The remainder of the week was relatively uneventful. We humans assisted the Dark Elves in constructing the farm, and I loaned them around 500 harvester golems and 200 digging golems that I had created in the meantime.

The Dark Elves' city was a sight to behold, with each building illuminated by the sparkle of [Dark Crystals]. It became apparent that a majority of the discovered crystals were from [Dark Crystal] mines. However, there were also three [Earth Crystal] mines and several mines containing Iron and Gold.

Together with Malarion, we decided on a 60-40 distribution for the minerals for the first year. We planned to negotiate the terms of the contract after that initial period.

I even taught Lianna how to create harvester golems. It was quite a spectacle—a proud Matriarch attempting to craft a golem and a gemstone. I allowed her to try on her own for a while before stepping in to assist.

Initially, she displayed clear signs of distrust, but after one week, it appeared that she began to accept us humans as allies.

After the end of the fifth day of the week, we finally departed. I let the digging golems create a road between our two capitals. It was a task that would surely take several months for the golems due to the sheer distance that they had to transform into roads.

During these days, I talked extensively with Malarion, I tried to impart to him the basics of management and kingship even if I knew that I was not the best out of all to impart this knowledge but I tried to do it nonetheless.

During these days, we explored the capabilities of the [Alliance Tab] and discovered that we could send messages to each other—a kind of chat group for each member of the Alliance. Concerned about the impending disappearance of the system in less than three weeks, I inquired with the system.

[The tabs that were unlocked will still be usable by you; the system will not be here to guide you]

The response indicated. This meant that I needed to quickly unlock the remaining tabs before the system vanished.

Despite my idea of creating a portal between our two cities, Lianna informed me that, with our current resources, it was an impossible feat. Even if we had the resources to create one, the maintenance cost, especially in Magic Crystals, was prohibitively high.

Returning with the farmers and the army to Falcon's Reach, our task was completed. However, I devised a clever plan to encourage them to stay in the Alliance. I hadn't disclosed how our [Staff of Regeneration] worked, so they still depended on us for the time being. While I was benevolent, I was not willing to provide everything for free.

We arranged an exchange of resources on a weekly basis. Some of my people would travel with a griffin and a [Staff of Regeneration] to assist in crop growth, returning with crystals and ore.

The time I spent away was not wasted; my scouts continued their work. I decided to explore both North and South simultaneously. Although they didn't uncover any other civilizations, we finally discovered a [Light Crystal] mine. I promptly established this mine, strategically positioning it not far from the city but in a defensible location in case of an attack.

I constructed additional smithies and farms, initiated the creation of mills for flour, and ensured that the Bathhouse was supplied with water for people to bathe. However, we still lacked soap or other items for a thorough wash.

I directed the expansion of the warehouses, segregating mundane resources like stone or wood to the mountainous warehouse. Simultaneously, I arranged for all magical crystals to be stocked directly in my workshop, enabling quicker replenishment for my research. I also took the gold, intending to test its properties with magic, inspired by the knowledge that the Zandalar or Quel'Dorei used gold as a catalyst for their artifacts.

I was not disappointed; gold proved to be a metal with immense compatibility with magic. In fact, it was so versatile that I could embed multiple gems of virtue within the gold disk that I had commissioned.

As a new week began, I felt a tinge of sadness realizing there were no more rewards for surviving an additional week. However, I came to the realization that I didn't even need the system anymore to maintain a functioning civilization. The expansion rate was remarkably fast, and with four additional flying units due to the new week, exploration saw a significant boost. I deployed one party under the command of George and another under Thom's leadership to explore newly discovered resource points and establish quarries.

What I lacked was a means to record our knowledge and pass it onto the next generation. The creation of paper and then books should become our new priority. Preserving our knowledge became crucial; we couldn't afford to lose it if the only one possessing it succumbed to illness or other unfortunate circumstances.

The tunnel under the mountain connecting to the southern area of our kingdom was now completely finished. Resembling a modern-day tunnel, it featured magical gemstones of Light, replacing artificial lighting. Of course, I deployed war golems to patrol the tunnel and deter potential invaders.

Recognizing the need for a protective structure at the tunnel entrance, I approached Aldor to design a blueprint. It's been three days since then, and I haven't seen him. It appears that he is putting forth his utmost effort. And since this is not urgent, I will not rush him.

During this week, I successfully completed the first threshold of my [Advanced Jeweller] skill [2000/2000]. While the [Golemancer] skill still required more than 2000 golems to reach completion, I never anticipated finishing the jeweler skill so quickly. It appears that my dedication to magic is becoming evident. If someone had told me I would become a magic nerd one day, I wouldn't have believed it.

[Falcon's Reach]

[Wood: 541, Ore: 421, Other Resources: 254, Gold: 8100]

The city's immense wealth was evident on this screen, boasting an extravagant amount of resources. Despite my desire to use everything, the surplus was overwhelming. Currently, I already have around 600 builder golems.

I realized a longstanding aspiration by creating a crucial building for any civilization—the school. At present, we resorted to writing on stones like savages, but until we had paper, it was our only option. I tasked the Sisters with developing an alphabet based on their knowledge and creating a 'book' about Elrath and his teachings. This way, I could analyze it and determine if I wanted our future generations to learn these principles.

I experimented on Light Crystal as they were the only crystals where I could perhaps create a legendary gemstone with. And effectively, they were the best of the best.

After some days of work and experimentation, I knew that I was at a breath of the legendary gemstone.

[Gemstone of Light]

[Pseudo-Legendary]

[Mana 3000/3000]

Then in another attempt, I finally succeeded, I had an idea, because even if I felt that the gemstone was perfect, it still lacked something, so I decided to use my mana, the first tries were, explosive to say the least, but when I finally had the good amount of mana to put inside, I tried. As the gemstone was finished I could sense that it was of [Legendary] quality, the pure power of Light emanating from the gemstone was blinding

[Elrath Gemstone]

[Legendary]

[Mana ?/?]

[As long as there is Faith in Elrath in the world, there will be mana in this gemstone]

[This gemstone convert Faith into Mana]

[Congratulations ! You crafted your first legendary gemstone]

[Choose a reward from the system]

[Advanced Jeweller -> Expert Jeweller]

I widened my eyes, recognizing the gemstone's potential as a heaven-sent gift for the portals. But before anything else, let's explore the rewards available from the system.

Upon reviewing options, ranging from artifacts of the Sixth Game to resources from Earth, I prioritized what we needed most urgently: Linen. While artifacts could be crafted, obtaining Linen represented a significant improvement for us, especially in the creation of paper. I decided to claim it, and as a reward, the system granted me the plant itself.

I swiftly ordered its cultivation in the fields near the city to ensure an unlimited supply for the future. Turning my attention to the pulsating gemstone on the slab,

I whispered, "Well, let's try to create another," as I took another Light Crystal infused with my blood.
