18 An Angel And A Devil.

(Let me know if you have any suggestions for the names of the pokemon.)

The musketeers had to leave once the party was over. They promised to return once the research was complete. They wanted to make sure my pokemon would be able to reach their full potential. Alakazam simply told me to follow my gut before leaving. A weird piece of advice that I would take to heart.

For some reason, every time I would be close to Carolina's egg, I would get a chill up my spine as if I was in danger. Nonetheless, I made sure to keep it as comfortable and protected as possible.

A few weeks after they had left, I saw Gallade's egg begin to crack. I felt like I was the one who had become a father as I saw the little Ralts' head poke out. Her little head was covered in blue hair, indicating her shiny status, something that was extremely rare. She was like an angel sent from the heavens as she stared at me with innocent eyes. I may not have been her father, but I sure was a proud Papa.

She caught on to things incredibly fast, and in just a few weeks, she was already pretty smart. I wanted to give her some time to adapt to the world before we started training, but by that point, she was already starting to release her psychic energy. It almost brought a tear to my eye.

However, everything changed once Carolina's egg hatched.

A small dragon/ghost typed pokemon emerged. A little lizard by the name of Dreepy. My innate typings made the little guy see me as his natural enemy. Since the moment it hatched it had been spamming the move Bite on me. Thankfully he was so young that it didn't do any real damage, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.

His innate despise towards me only made Ralts angry at him. Which began a rivalry between the both of them. Forcing me to keep a constant eye to make sure they didn't fight each other. I was no longer a proud Papa, I was a tired Papa. But the world keeps on spinning.

After about a month had passed, I began to train Ralts, and thanks to studying with Olympia, I knew the most effective way to do so. But first, I made sure to imitate what I had done with the musketeers back when I was young, hoping to awaken her alpha gene. It was a risky move that could bring attention to me, but a move I believed to be necessary in order for both of us to be at our strongest once we began our journey.

The little musketeer was a genius, learning how to implement what I had taught her in record time. She had even taken my own knockoff Baby-Doll Eyes/Charm combo and made it her own. Pacifying even the ruthless Dreepy, though when I tried the same, I got bit in the face.

Training Dreepy, on the other hand, was hard. At first, I had no clue how to go about it. The little guy would just bite me whenever he got a chance, somehow never getting tired of repeating this routine. To be honest, I was starting to get very annoyed, but I kept my composure.

Out of stress, I went to Lake Verity with the little guy stuck biting my arm. Swimming in the waters always seemed to relax me, which was the missing piece of the puzzle. The little devil thought it was more fun to bully the Magikarps that floated about the lake than to bite me. Which at least was a start.

I could only give a silent prayer to Arceus in the name of the brave soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the little devil's entertainment.

It was thanks to their brave sacrifice that I was able to bond slightly with the source of my nightmares. After all, where there were Magikarps, there were Gyarados. I still remember that day vividly.

I was floating in the water, relaxing with Dreepy committing crimes against Magikarps not so far away from me. Ideally, I would have stopped him, but by this point, I was too tired to deal with it.

"Mesprit, my homie, why can't you help me out this one time." I murmured to myself as I heard the sounds of war crimes being committed next to me.

Whether Mesprit heard my prayers or not, I couldn't say, but the next thing I knew a gigantic Gyarados burst from the water before giving my little devil the meanest and most evil Scary Face imaginable. Though I didn't blame them, I probably would have done the same if war crimes had been committed against my family.

If Dreepy were wearing pants, he probably would have shit in them because he froze in terror.

Gyarados had begun to create a whirlpool near the little devil and begun charging a hyper beam when I teleported to him, grabbed him, and teleported out of the lake. Only to hear a huge explosion come from within it.

The little devil had been left shaking in terror before I brought him home and covered him in blankets. After that day, the little devil no longer attacked me any chance it got, though I could feel it still felt an innate disgust and anger towards me. Though now he liked to hide his body under my hat

Luckily, I could turn to my little musketeer whenever I needed to warm my heart after dealing with the little devil.

"Ralts!" she would say in excitement whenever something she thought was cool happened. She couldn't really communicate properly, but it did the trick.

Lately, her new obsession had been watching my mother on tv doing her pokemon contests. Her little eyes would sparkle as she saw the fights that were fought with glamour. So I had promised her that we would join them once we were allowed to. I was already planning on joining contests, but having my pokemon be so excited about them only made it better.

That's not to say the little angel did not enjoy combat.

I don't know what it said about me as a trainer that both of my pokemon were a bit ruthless, but the little angel had her dark side. The times I would take her to the wild grass to fight against pokemon she would enjoy it a little too much.

She was born with the egg moves Disable and Shadow Sneak. So during combat against the other weak pokemon where I let her fight by herself, she would start by disabling their only attack moves before terrorizing them with Shadow Sneak. Sometimes she would use her Baby-Doll Eyes/Charm combination to make the wild pokemon lose their guard before Shadow Sneaking them, scaring the hell out of them.

Nevertheless, I chose to ignore that side of her whenever she used her signature move, which will be henceforth known as Charming Eyes…Or Baby-Doll Charm? No, that sounds weird. Whatever, I'll figure it out later.

All I had to do was get a proper training schedule for the little devil, and we should be set for some time.

As he poked his head from under my hat, I went to pet him before he bit my finger and hid once again.

Honestly, whenever I took the little one out to fight wild pokemon I felt bad for his enemies since the little Dreepy liked to commit War Crimes against them. Luckily I was able to patch them up after a battle to prevent a massive decline in the pokemon population in the area. Since the incident, I had not been able to go to Verity Lake with him, so we were out and about fighting Bidoofs, Starlys, and Kricketots. The little guy also had some egg moves it had been born with, which were Sucker Punch, Dragon Tail, and Double Team.

From what I remembered, Dreepys were supposed to take a really long time to evolve. So I could only hope that the same did not apply to him or that I could find a way to speed that process up. Because it would suck if he stayed as he was until he was the equivalent of a level 50. From what the Pokedex said, they didn't really learn any moves until they evolved. So I would have to do the best with what I had.

I planned to contact Carolina to see if she could give me any tips on training and evolving him. She had been busy working on something, but if what she told me was right, I should be able to contact her soon.

Turning to the Dreepy that was sleeping soundly using my hat, I could only sigh.

"I'm gonna get you to like me one of these days, little devil. Just you wait."

The sleeping Dreepy let out a few Bites as if dreaming it was biting something I could only assume to be my arm.

"One of these days…."
