Pokemon Summer Camp Invitation

It was hard to believe that five and a half years had passed since he had arrived in this world. Time seemed to fly once he was able to start spending his time at the lab and got himself busy. Ever since Rowan had left for Kanto my schedule had opened up a bit. I was able to mess around with different fields that seemed interesting to me.

Free time was my bane, as I felt a bit uncomfortable if I wasn't doing something productive. School was a cakewalk thanks to all the time I had spent reading up on pokemon. So I convinced my mom to let me be homeschooled and allow me to pursue my own interests.

It took me taking some "hard" tests for her to agree, but here I was now assisting nurse joy every other day in the Jubilife City pokemon center. Gotta catch all them skills right? Knowing how to heal my pokemon in the wild would be indispensable if I didn't wanna get trapped in the middle of a forest with all my pokemon knocked out.

The only way nurse Joy let me intern for her was by showing that I could help in calming down and stabilizing the injured pokemon through the use of my psionics. The tip that Rowan had given me was the key to the whole puzzle. Since that day my control over my skills had gone up exponentially.

"I know it hurts buddy, but just give it a few seconds. Miss Joy over here is the best healer there is and she will fix you right up, ok?" I said while softly petting the head of an injured bidoof.

Joy let out a cute giggle before ruffling my hair and asking me to step aside as she began to dress the wounds of the now calm pokemon.

"You know Lucas, I have a niece that is about your age that I think could become a great friend with you. She is also just getting started on her journey to become a pokemon doctor." she said as she was finishing up with the Bidoof.

I couldn't help but let out a small uncomfortable laugh as I lifted up the sleeping bidoof to move him to the resting area.

"I don't know, Miss Joy, I can't seem to befriend people my age. Plus, I also prefer hanging out with people like you or the researchers at the lab. That's actually one of the reason's I didn't enjoy going to school. It was a bit… weird." I finished as I layed down the sleeping bidoof and closed the door behind me.

Joy only let out a bright smile before saying.

"Well, I guess I will have to wait to introduce you to some of my other family members once you are a bit older. I would love to have you join the Joy family, I already see you like a little brother, plus you have that innate talent for helping and healing pokemon." Joy let out a mischievous laughter before adding.

"Just make sure you don't get married to anyone else and I will make sure to introduce you to my prettiest niece."

I could only laugh along with her. Ever since I had shown her how fast I could calm all of the pokemon that came by the center by simply laying my hand on them and talking with them she had been dead set with adding me to their family of nurses.

Similar reactions were shared by the other Nurses that stopped by from time to time. All I could say was that my hair had been ruffled and my cheeks had been pinched many times.

I continued to assist around the center before I got a phone call from professor Rowan.

"Kid! How has everything been going? Staying busy?"

"Trying to, professor. Though it has been a bit boring since my musketeers had to leave." I said while reminiscing on the three pokemon that used to follow me around all of the time.

Their evolutions came with strange mutations that led them to be transferred to Kanto to be analyzed by Rowan himself. They could pave the way to even stronger pokemon evolutions from what Rowan had told me.

I heard the professor give a small chuckle before he answered.

"They miss you too, kid. You wouldn't believe how much Kadabra, Bronzong and Kirlia complained for the first few weeks. They were impossible to work with. But hey, kid, that's actually why I was calling.

I just finished talking to your mom and she has agreed to come with you to the summer camp Oak is hosting in his farm over in Pallet town. So you can come visit your three musketeers and I can finally check up on your work. I have to make sure my student wasn't slacking after I left."

This was great news for me. I would finally be able to meet with Oak and my small gang of psychics. If I was lucky I might convince Oak to let me mess with the pokedex. It was almost in its final stages of development from what Rowan had told me.

Plus Oak was well known for having a massive amount of pokemon in his farm. So maybe I would be able to meet an interesting one over there. If I am nice I might be able to convince Oak to let me have one of their eggs for the future.
