I Cannot Do This Alone.

(Sorry for the long delay on chaps. The game is absolutely massive, and even after playing it almost daily since its release, I am still not done with my first playthrough. But I have kept you all without chaps for far too long lol. Gotta try to get back in the groove of writing. A regular-sized chap at 1.5k since I am gonna try to write a few before going to bed. So that I can post again in a few hours.)

(Mars' Pov)

"I have been given a warrant to come into the windmill to check it out after hearing of some suspicious reports." Georges said while keeping a stoic face.

I could see traces of anger on his face, and I instantly recognized him as the fighting-type gym leader. He had recently joined with the police and other authorities in a campaign against us. We were making preparations to get rid of him, but we hadn't gotten a proper opportunity yet.

I responded with the same stoicism as him.

"Suspicious reports? I am not sure I have heard any complaints from anyone. We are currently working on something very important inside here. The batteries powering the windmill have been acting strangely recently, so we came here to assist. This is for the safety of the people in this village."

Standing in his way, I looked him directly in the eyes. But he didn't care at all as he walked right in front of me and slapped the paper in my hands that gave him permission to come in.

I was going to try to stall him for longer, but suddenly there was a loud sound coming from within the building before there was a loud explosion that shattered the windows. The door burst open as a sudden gust of heat emerged from within. The windmill that was connected to the building began to fall as the earth rumbled, and a loud explosion was heard in the distance.

Georges and I immediately ran towards the building, and we were greeted by a massive fire coming from within the wiring.

"Damn it, this is what we were trying to prevent!" I said as my eyes scanned for anyone who had failed to evacuate. If there were dead people, we might be able to garner more sympathy from the people and ruin Georges' reputation. Placing the blame for this explosion on his interference.

He clearly wasn't convinced by my words, but he nevertheless pulled out a pokeball to release a Poliwrath.

After commanding his pokemon to try to contain the fire, he quickly pulled out his phone to contact the authorities to assist in containing the sudden explosion and the spread of the fire. Leading me to do the same, I would be contacting my authority, Cyrus.

Saturn's incompetent employees had caused this whole mess. I would make sure he was properly punished.

(Lucas' Pov)

I heard the explosion in the distance as I fell into the grass. I had teleported just in time to avoid it. Landing right next to Kirlia, who had just knocked out the grunt she had been observing.

I had clearly messed up… or well. I guess I had succeeded in a way. But, it was not according to the original plan. I was supposed to simply stop them from acquiring the energy, not create a bomb. And were it not for being able to teleport, I probably would have blown myself up in the process.

Maybe I was fighting above my weight class. I had gotten a bit carried away with this whole notion I had to help save the world, but to be fair, I was just a kid. I shouldn't be getting in the middle of big battles like this.

I was worried that if I got others too involved, I would be putting their lives at risk. I knew what Team Galactic was capable of. I guess everyone who saw through the facade knew what they were capable of.

Georges was standing up against them very openly. Which worried me but, at the same time, gave me a connection to someone who I trusted.

I turned to Kirlia before giving her a nod.

She immediately began working on fixing the mind of the one I had put in a coma so that he would wake up within a week while making sure that the other one was in a similar situation.

I first had to get rid of this costume, and then I would talk to Georges.

I had to admit that my heart was racing a little at first, but in the time it took me to my regular appearance, I had been able to calm myself. Even when the second cloud of smoke that had appeared in the distance worried me slightly.

Hiding the two grunts in a bush, I made my way toward where all of the commotion was happening. My mouth dropped as I saw the collapsed building I had been in not so long ago. The fire had been put out, and there was a large crowd of police and firemen.

Mars was nowhere to be seen, but I could see Georges' annoyance as he was being interviewed by a couple of people.

"What do you have to say about the claims that it was your disturbance that caused the explosion to happen?"

"I was not even able to enter the building before the explosion happened. There is no way I was able to disturb anything that happened inside without even being present." Georges answered.

"So you are saying that the Pokemon Police Department cannot be counted on to arrive on time when it is needed? After all, from what you insinuated before, if you had gotten here earlier, you would have been able to prevent this from happening."

Before he was able to answer the question he was interrupted by another interviewer.

"Sir, were you not aware of the warnings that Team Galactic had put around the are in case of emergency? It seems obvious that Galactic was trying to fix this issue before it got bad. But from the reports I am getting it seems that it was your investigation team that prevented Team Galactic from getting here earlier.

From the comments that Mars' gave before she had to leave due to her injuries, they had been trying for months to get permission to repair this place, only to get delayed time and time again.

Are you willing to take responsibility for the destruction of this windmill and the research facility in Eterna City? Are you willing to take responsibility for the injured and the one young man who is reported missing?"

At this, Georges said.

"I apologize, but the time I had for answering questions is over. Any further questions can be passed directly to my team leader. For now, please evacuate the area."

I could tell by how tightly he was holding his fists that he was extremely angry, but he did not let it show in his voice as he walked away from them. The reporters did not leave the area but instead began filming around the location.

It took some time for things to settle down and for the reporters to leave before I called out to Georges' his expression instantly softening as he saw me.

"Kid, what the hell are you doing around here?"

"I was just passing by, but I actually have something pretty important I gotta show you… and also talk about."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose before answering.

"As much as I would like to catch up. Now is not the time. I have enough on my plate at the moment. I can already tell a storm is coming my way from the questions I was asked."

Communicating telepathically with him so that no one would hear what I said.

"There are two unconscious Team Galactic members in the field. Also, I have information as to what Team Galactic was doing in this area. I think it is pretty important."

His eyes widened before he said to me quietly.

"Meet me at the Pokemon Center in an hour. We can discuss things there a bit more privately. As for the two unconscious people, have you told anyone else?"

I answered telepathically.

"No, but they are on the flower field right next to town. They may or may not take a week to wake up…"

Georges froze for a second before nodding his head. He told me to go wait for him before going over to talk to another detective.
