Chapter 6

[World Walker] Activated

Returning to homeworld

Jake's eyes opened once again into his normal life. He woke up, and went down to eat breakfast.

"Hey sweetie, I didn't see you yesterday. Is everything okay? I got worried because you didn't tell us what powers you got. Oh no, did you not have enough magic for the class you wanted?"

He had almost completely forgotten to tell her in between all of the crazy things that had just happened.

"No, of course not, I'm fine."

He activated his claws to show, but only let out 3 inches and didn't let his hand light.

"Oh my gosh, fire claws. Is that your activite, or from your class.?"

"Just a class skill. From making it to level 2"

She gave him a smile, and they continued to talk until they had finished making breakfast. He didn't tell her about any skills other than his claws. His mom had the ability to teleport through walls. She could touch a wall and instantly appear on the other side. Her passive was to phase through the first 3 damage times she takes per day. It was mostly useless because people take damage from almost anything, but he most likely inherited his space affinity from her. Even though she had really strong utility she never had the training to be used in any kind of combat.

His dad was a lot weaker, being a blacksmith with a boost to his ability to apply magic circles on objects and an empowered hammer ability. Outside of boarding school having crafting classes was normal even on the first one. His dad was still at work, so Jake took the opportunity to visit him in town.

It would take around an hour for him to walk there normally, and 30 minutes with his bonus stats. He also didn't want to wait that long, so he activated the claws on his feet, dug them into the ground before taking off running. It didn't even take 10 minutes before he made it out of the suburbs and near the shop his dad worked at.

He was quite impressed by his speed, until he looked down and saw the holes poking out of his shoes. His mana and ki were still at over half when he walked into the shop. Jake's dad, Ron, was a co-owner of the shop along with his best friend.

"Is papa in? Oh and also I need to borrow some materials."

"Ron is at lunch, and aren't you going to request a weapon? You just awakened a few days ago, right?"

"Yah, I'm a fire mage now but I want to get some metal and maybe some gems for jeweler to make me something custom."

"I didn't know that you had a jeweler friend, they are pretty rare around here. Mind if I get his number, I have something I want made?"

Jake was happy about this, but wasn't good enough to make something specific.

"He prefers to remain anonymous but I can take an order for him soon if you like."

He knew that he couldn't take commissions yet, but if he said yes to this the higher chance he would get the materials. He went over to the shelf of metals, taking 2 iron ingots, 2 silver ingots, and 1 steel. He placed them in his inventory before grabbing a small lightning gem, and a pearl. Pearls were not jems but served the same purpose.

After storing everything he talked with Ron about his cool new claws. Ron was kind of like his second dad, being the one who babysat him and also being the dad of his friend who was more like a brother than anything. They were a few months apart, and they were not the most friendly but they had each other's back if anything bad happened.

When his dad returned, the 3 of them talked together, not mentioning his unique abilities. Even with parents discussing unique abilities was frowned upon, unless they were easy to see. This started when a generation of heroes and strong classes were hunted down before the age of 20 so they never got strong. Ever since the 15,000 victims of this, it became taboo for families and ban to force students to reveal them in schools as well as employers in work.

Jake went home soon after as he wanted to get level two on his jeweler class and possibly gain more power. Everything in his life was moving faster than he expected. Most kids would awaken, test out their abilities, then go to school to become stronger. But he couldn't wait that long, the cultivation world was much less mercyful of the weak and would kill them without a second thought.

[Training Dimension]

His workshop appeared in front of him when he took out the bars of silver and placed them into the forge. The hologram popped up and he began to shape. Instead of a ring, he made a bracelet this time. He shaped it around his wrist and started making triangle shaped indents circulating it so it would give magic. It looked more like a cut than anything, because he made sure to leave an independent for the lightning gem. He drew the howling tiger crest on the inside of it. It was the head of a tiger, letting sound waves out of its mouth that looked to shatter mountains.

[Forge Activated]

The dimension was a lot less clear with its instructions, but he felt better about it even with the little practice he had. He combines the two bars with his hammer, condensing them down to a much smaller size. It was only about an inch in diameter that wrapped when he was engraving the symbol and triangles into the sides and a small spot for the gem.

[Forging Complete]

[15 Jeweler EXP gained]

[Engraver Activated]

On this gem he only engraved a lighting bolt, in hopes of giving it a lightning mage skill.

[Engraving Complete]

[15 Jeweler EXP gained]

[Jeweler class level up]

Euphoria filled his body as he felt the power in him grow.
