His War

No one else in the room spoke, but with their eyes a general agreement could be seen forming. All of them knew the benefits of stripping away Farahbo's sovereignty. But how to do so equally and just so that all could be happy? Make it a puppet kingdom? Make it several puppet kingdoms? Completely annex all the territory of the nation? Make it a dominion ruled over equally by all four of the conniving powers? Questions and questions spurred in the room. Ones long answered, ones that changed the thinking of others.

All the nations knew exactly what they wanted. Rylu wished to gain more notoriety, for the King and the country, on the Realm's stage and with it expand its territory. The Eunuchs wished to increase trade and bolster their population. The Isles wanted a firm holding on the continent of the realm. From their islands they couldn't engage in the talks and politics. Being islanders made them outcast. But becoming a power on the continent would show others their power. Spalis's King wished for allies and land. Magito knew the world, and knew he'd need allies whether he had to forcibly take them or not. Spalis wished to wipe out its old adversary and with the land left over from Rylu and the Isles created a puppet country. Subservient. A slave ally. All the while bolstering relations with those involved in the war plot.

Every interest was different obviously. But all had one similarity: power. Each wanted more power. It was as simple as that. It was why negotiations were so difficult, no one wished to give another nation too much power and also ensure they didn't get too little for themselves. It took 19 hours until a deal was reached. 19 straight hours, no rest in between only work. All for the purpose of destruction.

The Eunuchs would get control of more trade routes and were allowed to tax them, as well as all refugees would be sent specifically toward the lands and some land would be given away to entice the new refugees to stay. The Queens Isles received all of the coastal territory of Farahbo. As well as the remnants of its army. Rylu would receive territory a ⅓ the size of the Queen's but they'd also be given the Farahbo royal family as a way to show the world what they are capable of. They also gained some towns from Spalis's claimed territory. Spalis would get the rest of the land leftover, it would be turned into a puppet kingdom. One constructed to worship Magito as a Godking and Spalis, itself, as a God. It would be ruled by two people. Magito's son and some random holy speaker who could sell a belief, the propertitor of Magito's new faith. Magito knew himself powerful but not a Godking, as well as his nation not holy. All of this was to instill loyalty and control in the soon to be called "Farahbo Tributary."

"I guess it's time we inform our rulers. Preparations for war must begin. In the morning, we shall go. " Kalas added as one final remark. At sunrise, he escorted his piers to the castle doors, at which, Marsha pondered a question.

"The Eastern Crest, your Kingdom is dealing with. Our plans won't be affected by it right?"

"Of course not, some minor fools in the East should be no problem for Magito and his armies." Karten said.

"It is as Karten said not a problem, obviously." Kalas remarked.

"Hmph. As it should be. We shall see you soon Kalas, we must plan for our leaders to host a summit and declare war amongst each other." York said.

"All with due time. Preparations come first." Kalas responded.

The diplomats exited Magito's castle and with them gone Kalas headed to the King's throne room. Kalas entered into complete silence.

"My sleep was interrupted all night due to you and your cohorts' constant bickering over the most finite of details. If you bring me bad news, I'll have you slain where you stand." Magito never paused when he spoke, he always knew what he wished to say.

"My lord, trust that the news I bring you is great. All of them have agreed and will now go on to tell their lieges. Farahbo will finally fall, your majesty. We only have to give up some towns and tax money in the deal!" Kalas uttered quickly.

"Go tell my brother, make haste on the arrangements with our army. It is the biggest of all entering this war. Besides that of Farahbo's."

"Of course, sire! I shall go now!" Kalas said.

"Next time Kalas…"

"Yes my king?"

"Don't give up anything in my negotiations. Do you understand me?" Magito hadn't gotten exactly what he wanted, of course it made him angry.

"It- it shall never happen sire. I only worked to make your wishes reality." Kalas said with fear gripping on his throat, becoming rough and painful to the touch.

"But you had to sacrifice to make it come true. Spalis isn't weak. It shouldn't ever need to sacrifice." Magito gave Kalas mere seconds to think.

"I do not wish to continue hearing you speak. Leave. Tell my brother. Then stay in your office." Magito continued.

Kalas left silently. Even tip-toeing out of the throne room. He made for Magito's brother, to prepare for his King's desired war. Kalas felt that Magito's anger was only so prevalent today because of the incident with the jester. Overall, he knew the King was happy in one way or another.

In the throne room, Magito sat on his golden chair alone. He remained quiet for almost 3 minutes. A maid waited nearby on the orders of her Majesty. Just like all the others populating the throne room. Magito finally began moving again and called on the maid to come up towards the throne. She didn't feel worthy. She never has. She waited on his every word, not wanting to displease Magito after the display by Kalas.

"Grab my son, and bring him to me."

"At once I shall sire."

The maid left quickly. Magito then turned to his guards.

"Accompany my son and I on a trip through the capital. This castle is maddening. Bring me one from Kalas's network as well. I must arrange meetings with the wealthy of the Kingdom, for my son requires a spouse!"
