Dave sighs in his predicament, "Alright, this is a load of bullshit. What is this? I just was able to get eh fuck out of that place, and now here I am being threatened by fucking bandits. I have been here for like 2 or 3 days. And this is the first level of difficulty I am being put up with. What is this Elden ring or Dark Souls?" he thought.

"Alright kid, why don't you just be a good boy and hand over that bag and take off your clothes and drop your weapon and live another day?" One of the bandits said, snickering and licking his tongue with a disgusting grin.

"Fuck that, I risk my life for this, and you all show up just to rob my effort? I almost died!" Dave screamed in his thoughts.

He then looks up at each of the five bandits, seeing their status and ability scores, and he sighs.

"Well, at least there is not a high level; levels 7, 8, 6, and then 10, that big number must be the boss, tsk, and I just came back after surviving that hellish abandoned cave mine." Dave clicks his tongue and then looks at the dust crystals, and then he thinks of the use of the dust that he made with the annoying bugs back in the cave, and then he looks up as he finishes thinking of something. And with no hesitation, he then tosses the large bag out to the leader bandit. "Here you go."

The leader of the group chuckled with a grin, and he then opened the large sack and looked at the dust crystals. "Nice, nice! We could be rich with this many!"

The other bandit then points his weapon at Dave, "Now start taking off those clothes off and drop that weapon too!"

"Sure, sure." Dave then starts warming up his muscles and then pulls out his iron hatchet. "I give you my weapon first!"

He then throws his hatchet, but not at the bandits themselves. As the hatchet almost hits the large suck of dust crystals, Dave quickly takes the chance and then jumps away and falls into the bushes.

BOOM!

[Level up]

Dave peeks out of the bushes. "Is there only one more?"

He sees the smoke slowly disappear as the gust of wind takes it away. He then gets out of the bush and then looks around with caution. "There isn't an ambush, right? No backups?" he said in his thoughts.

.

.

"You... Fucking brat..." The leader bandit can be heard.

.

.

Dave turns around his head to hear the sound and sees the bandit coughing blood, with most of his limbs all left with flesh exposed and dislocation, among other things. It is a very gruesome scene.

"Oh, ooh, I don't want to see that," Dave turns away for a bit.

"But... Haha! Worth it!" he then looks around to find his hatchet, and then as he looks around, he sees his hatchet on the ground, pulls it out, and notices a faint glow covering it with colorful waves of dust all over. "Damn, it became enchanted."

He then sees a screen appear in front of him as it states the effects of his hatchet.

[Iron hatchet: dust-bound Iron Hachet]

[Quality: Rare]

.

[Description: Just excessive contact with dust has now been absorbed and merged with all kinds of dust elements, and now it can be used to wield and use the power of dust within it.]

"Is that how it works?" Dave thought as he examined the iron hatchet.

"I'll fucking kill you!" The group leader bandit spitting words, but nothing he can do but bark but no bite.

Dave then turns around, calming down. Dave feels it's gruesome but manages to stare back with disgust and then sees the ace on the ground, then takes it back, and then looks around, seeing the sack in pieces as it's remains being messed all around the forest, and dust crystals are nowhere to be seen, knowing now that it's all been used.

He then looks at the bandit and points his hatchet right at his neck. "Listen here, either you want to put this on your neck, or are you going to tell me everything?"

"I'd rather die! Then to tell you little brat!" The group leader growls but can't bite.

"Welp! Take care then." Dave didn't bat an eye as he then looked at the four dead corpses and started looting everything.

"Let's see here, oh! Some things are useful: 2 knives, a few extra dust ammo, 4 shapshifting weapons, and some armor and clothes. Oh, look! A few dust crystals! Yoink!" Dave grabs all the items until the 4 corpses are all nude.

"You fucker! I'll kill you!" The group bandit leader is still yelling. Dave looks at the deadweight and looks up on top of his head, seeing his status.

"Sure. Bye then." Dave quickly ran off and went back to the village, then went back to the inn.

30 minutes later, he arrives back at the inn safely. He then enters, and the inn looks empty. He then carries all the looted items with him.

The innkeeper notices his arrival, and he looks shocked. "What in blazes happened to you?"

"Picked up a few fights along the way." Dave tosses the 18 dust crystals on the desk, and Dave tosses the looted items on the floor and sits down in front of the desk.

"Let me guest bandits?" The innkeeper then gives an inspection of the dust crystals.

"Dead straight," Dave answered. "Look, either this goes on or I think I can't get out of here without being ambushed by bandits 24/7."

Dave leans closer and then asks, "I got what I can find int he mines, so tell me what is going on at this place."

"..." The innkeeper is silent and looks around, then looks at the window as he squinted, trying to be discreet, and then locks the door, and then the inn is empty, and then goes back to Dave with a heavy sigh, "Alright, I'll tell you, but first... Will you help us?"

Dave then suddenly sees a screen pop up in front of him.

[Calculating...]

[Congratulations! You discovered the hidden chain quest.]

[The quest,[Dust secure!] Change to Hidden Chain Quest]

[Rewards are revalued and obtained after the quest chain is accomplished.]

[Hidden Chain Quest: Bandit Terror, Part 2]

[Description: The village is in fear of the bandits setting up camp close to the village, capturing women for their own pleasure and money, rescuing the hostages, and returning them back to their families.]

Dave reads the text and then looks back at the innkeeper and says, "Go on."

"My wife and daughter... and everyone else in this village's loved ones... if we don't provide the items and luxury, they will kill them; I don't know how long they have suffered." The innkeeper cuts off his words as Dave sees the face of dismay in the eyes of what he thought to be a strong-willed man. It turns out that he keeps up all that guilt to himself, so he didn't take this dragging as long as it is.

"So that's why the village here looks so dead huh? Tell me where they are," Dave said.

The innkeeper then holds out his hand and says, "Give me the map."

Dave gives him the map, and the innkeeper then points at the map and says, There is a woodcutter's hut over there."

"Good." He then grabs his loot and looks at the innkeeper. "Is there a blacksmith?"

"Yes, there is one, but his workshop has been surrounded by bandits using his weapons for their own benefit," the innkeeper said.

"Alright then. Then give me time," Dave said.

"How long?" the innkeeper said.

Dave shows a serious expression, "Give me as long as possible, and let me stay in this for a while. I have some things to get ready."

"I can do that," the innkeeper accepted.

"Oh, and I almost forgot, I want to go to Vale, once this is done, you better have some good connections to take me there, that's all I'm asking," Dave said with a serious glance.

"That is a little tricky, but if you can deal with the bandits, I can be able to seek some help outside, the bandits took our ways to seek help outside," the innkeeper said.

"Good..." Once Dave goes up the stairs and then piles up his loot down the floor in his room, he then sits down and then calculates his current situation: "I can beat them up; I just don't have the strength to face a whole group of them yet; I can level up and kill them right now. I did it before in the nearby cave mine; it wasn't the best experience, and it was not as bad as I thought it to be, but it is still disgusting."

[You killed a bandit; 50 exp]

"Oh, the big guy finally died from blood loss," Dave thought. He then focused back on his current situation.

"Right, I'll increase my stats, specifically in strength; I'll just do exercise here, and this loot..." Dave hovers his eyes on the piles of items and equipment. "I'll need to try getting a crafting skill set."

"Hey, you said you could assist me with crafting," Dave said, and a screen pops up in front of him.

[Affirmative, however, without exact tools, it will be challenging.]

"If you can still help despite that, then that's all I need. I didn't expect that it would come to this, but a reward is a reward, who knows, it might be handy."

With that, Dave took two weeks of preparation.
