The Item Maker System

"In a moment in human history, people in mankind received systems, each person had one that was different from the other(Although, many were similar, they would never be exactly the same). You could receive a system that gave you the ability to conquer the world, or maybe a system that makes you able to create a harem. But, of course, with systems, other outer wordly and strange things would appear, like dungeons, alien invasions. Quests started to appear for everyone, that could relate or intervene in other person's quest or interest, and even maybe force you to collaborate with another person to reach a goal. Quests, dungeons, monsters and other system related things would give you experience to improve through your system, and items, that have abilities, like a ring that gives you protection, a necklace that improves your vampiric ability or maybe even a legendary dagger! As for me, I got the Item Maker System. What does it do? I can transform daily, basic things, such as cellphones, tables, chairs, or any other thing, into an item. Pretty good, right? Well... No. It just doesn't work! How am I supposed to be someone in life if my system doesn't work?" Ilmarinen said, furious to himself! But, little did he know, that his life would change completely. (The cover is just temporary, I pretend to change it later.)

Ilmarinen stared at the [Common Jacket], dumbfounded. Were the stats trash? Yeah. But he couldn't have been more happy! It actually worked! The System and Skill that neglected him his whole life, were finally showing their real faces to him! A man capable of transforming daily basis common things into items! He can supply anyone with this! Heroes, thieves, chefs, presidents, kings and much more! But more appeared in front of him after doing this.

[System Alert: Congratulations! You have concluded your Main Quest! You have been awarded 100 XP and 5 Stat Points.]

[System Alert: Congratulations! You are now Level 1! You have earned more 5 Stat Points.]

[System Error: The user has only one Stat, forcefully putting them into [Luck]... Your [Luck] Stat is now 10.]

"Well, I guess Luck isn't that bad." Ilmarinen thought to himself, as he removed his T-shirt and put it alongside of his jacket on the table. "How long will it take until I get a Rare Item?" He said to himselft as he was ready to use the Skill, when another System notification popped on his sight.

[System Warning: [Main Quest] has been updated.]

[System Warning: The user does not have 5 Levels... Updating Failure punishment...]

[System Alert: The Failure punishment has been updated! Failure: Death.]

Ilmarinen stared at the System Alert, with a confuse look. Failure...: Death? He just got the System, and now he has to fight against time so he won't die? Of course, Ilmarinen was infuriated, but he couldn't do much, he wouldn't be able to reach level 5 in such little time. He could only prepare himself to fight and hope to survive.

[System Alert: You have automatically been assigned to the closest Dungeon to you that will appear in 30 days. You can complete another Dungeon to complete the Main Quest: Cook Off, but it is not recommended to do so.]

Ilmarinen was surprised. Although the System is penalizing him with death if he didn't complete the Quest, it actually did give him advices. Well, perhaps it's just standard for a first real Quest, it was kind of surprising.

"Maybe I should start making more Items. I'm not stronger than a Goblin, if I would guess." Ilmarinen said to himself as he held the white T-shirt he previously removed and used his [Item Maker Skill] on it. Incredibly, it didn't appear to have a delay.

[Common T-Shirt]

Quality: Common Clothing

Description: A common T-Shirt.

Skills: [Passive] Protects you against the Sun and a bit of the cold.

[Passive]1% Physical Damage Protection

Ilmarinen then used his Skill on his shoes and jeajs. He would've in one of his socks if he could. But why he didn't use it? Because another System Alert appeared as he was ready to use it on his socks.

[System Alert: You have used all of your [Item Maker Skill] uses for today. You can use it 5 more times tomorrow.]

Ilmarinen didn't know if he should hate or embrace the System. He was happy that he could use it, but now that he can normally use it after all those years, it has a limit and it is threatening to kill him! Well, at least it worked. Ilmarinen couldn't really bother to be angry for too long, it didn't matter.

For the Items he made, he got 2 useless skills, 1% Physical Damage Reduction for the Jeans, and 0,5% for each one of the shoes, and he actually +1 Agility Stat for the Pair of Shoes. It used a bit like a Set, but only the shoes were included.

Ilmarinen was kind of sad he couldn't use his Skill more, but when he noticed how late it was in the night, he hastened his pace to bed to sleep. Of course, Ilmarinen needed to work, because he kind of cut his ties with his family, so he didn't receive money from them anymore.

...

Ilmarinen woke up, with a mild headache, as he reached for his cellphone over the nightstand that stood by the side of his bed. It was still 6 AM, he slept around 4 hours and then woke up. He couldn't sleep much, not because of work, as it started around 8 AM and was fairly close to his house, but because he was unable to sleep. He always had baggy eyes because he was unable to sleep much. It never intervened in his disposition during the day, though.

Despite the fact he always wanted to sleep a bit more, Ilmarinen just got out of the bed and went to the bathroom to take a shower. It didn't take long, he quickly finished it and dressed with his normal clothings, that were now Items. He started making breakfast as he turned on the TV to listen to the news, and surely, what he saw there, wasn't expected.

As he finished making some toasts to eat with jelly, he went to the TV and sat down in front of it, eating the toast. Ilmarinen wasn't really interested in news, but he didn't have much to do after he woke up. But then, something interesting showed up. Actually, it was someone he knew, even though meeting that man only for a brief a moment.

"Yesterday, in the middle of the night, the mafia group, known as the Black Praying Mantis, got involved in a shooting with "rogue" members of the organization. The police is still investigating the crime scene, but they confirm that the fight among members was instigated by an still unknown stolen Item from the government." The news reporter said.

Ilmarinen was actually calm, but when a certain man appeared on the TV, his toast dropped out of the mafia. "The rogue member, that is the main suspect to have stolen the Item from the Black Praying Mantis hands, Luke Leonhardt, that was the leader of the movement to fight the mafia from inside, was found dead in the scene."

As the name of rogue member was mentioned, the black man who gave Ilmarinen the Crystal appeared on the screen. Ilmarinen froze in place, he could feel anxiety cover his body. He used the Item without thinking twice, when actually it was from the infamously known Black Praying Mantis, the most frightening organization around the modern days, that stole it from the government itself. "God... What have I done?... Wait! The Item ceased to exist! I can't be punished right?" Ilmarinen said to himself as he chewed the piece of toast inside his mouth.

Perhaps he was right. The government couldn't do much if they didn't have any visual proofs of him using it, but a thought crosses his mind. The problem wasn't the goverment. They aren't searching for revenge. But the mafia will search for revenge if they found out. Ilmarinen felt scared for the first time in a long time. Alone, without help and weak, he needed to become strong. How? Through the only way he knew how. It wasn't that trustworthy, though. His System. It was only thing that remained for him to become useful once in his life.

Kind of a short chapter! I still don't know how I'm going to make this noe good, but I'm trying. I hope people will still read this!
