A Wayward Train

As the support group's meeting was winding down to it's end in the Jingumae Community Center, Train 13S of the Chiyoda line was far away on its last run of the night, heading toward Kita-ayase station. The train was as busy as usual for that time of night, with most seats occupied and some standing. Most people on the train weren't remarkable at all, but on that night, another would be made unique among them.

Minutes before the train arrived at the station, a woman in her late 30s who was wearing a white sun dress with strawberries patterned all over it, was on her way home to her family when she began to get a sense that someone was following her. She whipped her head around looking in every direction to see if she was right. Nobody seemed to be stalking her on the train or even paying attention to her, but she simply couldn't shake the feeling that someone was after her.

The looming paranoia only grew stronger as the train progressed down the track. She started to breathe heavy and look all around her and, although nobody on the train was really moving, the thing that was following her crept ever closer. Realizing it was too late and now unavoidable, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Maybe it's all just in my head." she thought as she opened her eyes and looked down the length of the train car.

The world around disappeared suddenly. In a split second, nothing but darkness remained in the eyes of the woman. Panic set it. To the rest of the world around her, she hadn't changed much. She began to shake slightly and her eyes changed completely black.
