18 Chapter 18

(Akira's Section)

I am a Demon, a murderer, I burn towns for fun. I kill with a smile on my face and with a guiltless soul. I smoke when I'm stressed, start fights for fun, sleep alone, and never cry. People call me a monster, but I am the weapon my parents created in reality. The same weapon that ripped off their heads and burned their bodies, the same weapon that feels nothing except Pain and Hate. That is who I am. I forgot that so I could be a better person, but do I want to be? For her I did.

My head felt like it was splitting, my hallucination laughed at my pain but I ignored it. I closed my eyes tightly, wishing for the release of sleep. Sleep never came, morning always did, I got out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom. I gazed at my reflection in the mirror, my skin was pale and my old scars were visible again. My reflection tilted its head at me, a playful smile on its face, it laughed silently and a shiver went down my back.

My shower was longer than usual, I kept glancing at the mirror, hoping that it was just a trick of the light. I got dressed in jeans and a button-up, not too formal but dressy enough to convey authority, at least, that's what Robyn had said when I first wore it.

I waved to pack members as I walked by, trying to seem normal. I opened the door to my office and turned on the light, I sat at my desk and pulled out the notes. The notes were all written on the same aged paper, the writing was old as well, Italic calligraphy, done with specific tools and inks.

'Robyn has a secret...' my hallucination whispered in my ear, I shook my head, waving my hand to shoo her away 'He knows...' she whispered, I sighed, common sense would dictate not to listen to the hallucination of my younger self But...

Something nagged at me, Robyn didn't seem surprised to see the note. Robyn already gave me a strange feeling but he was human after all...Right? I picked up my phone and scanned through my contacts, I clicked his and it only ran for a few seconds before he picked up. "Akira?" he questioned, I took a deep breath and looked at my hallucination "Come to my office...Alone." I said quickly before hanging up.

"What should I call you?" I questioned my hallucination while she sat on my desk and crossed her legs. 'Call me Aki...and watch out' Aki said quickly before the door to my office opened, Robyn quickly bowed "Alpha, you requested my presence?" Robyn asked, I motioned for him to sit down. Robyn sat quickly and I could hear his heart rate speed up.

"Robyn...What aren't you telling me?" I asked, trying to seem sympathetic, Robyn stared right back at me. "I'm not hiding anything." Robyn sounded stiff, his usual cheer and mirth gone without a trace, Aki stood behind him and mimed cutting his throat. I pulled out the letters and more importantly the raven feathers.

"You're lying about something and unless you tell me, I can't help you," I said, Robyn, avoided my eyes. Aki smiled widely and tilted her head at me, gloating. "Robyn...You're not human...are you?" I asked slowly, Robyn sighed "Well...sort of...I didn't place the letters...I've just...Seen them before?" Robyn seemed unsure of this answer but his body language affirmed that what he was telling was true.

"Seen them before?" I said, Robyn sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "Not seen...well yes seen, but uh...I...Saw it in a...dream?" Robyn was still nervous, the last part of that sentence I could tell was a lie "A dream?" I said curiously, teasing the sentence out. Robyn fiddled with his fingers and avoided my eyes, I snapped.

I gripped Robyn and lifted him by the collar of his shirt, he gasped and struggled but I already had him a couple of feet off the ground. Aki was cheering and jumping around 'Hit him! make him bloody!' she shouted, I ignored her and stared at Robyn "Tell me the truth or I rip off your head" I said calmly and slowly.

"I wouldn't recommend that" A new voice made me whip my head around, I turned quickly and realized Robyn was gone. A beautiful...person sat in front of me, their short black hair was perfectly styled and a golden crown sat on top of it, a white robe with gold embroidery hung on their frame and golden eyes fixed on me.

"Who...what...are you?" I asked, The beautiful person had a displeased expression on their face, almost like boredom "I'm called Apollo named after the God of music, medicine, and... Never mind you get the drift." Apollo said, he picked his nails and sighed "You have caused quite a few...problems...for me." Apollo said, he said every word like it was bitter, distasteful.

"I love poetry, much like the God I'm named after, but your movements are erroneous and presumptuous, riddled with mawkish sentimentality." Apollo used larger words than I was used to and it took me a moment to realize he was insulting me, I'm no idiot but he outclassed me easily. Apollo stood up and looked me in the eye, Aki was leaning on my desk and she smiled sadistically.

"Golden eyes...you're one of those-" I was cut off by Apollo, he seemed angry. "It's bad enough I have to speak in this crude and brutish language, but now you accuse me of being one of the Forsaken? Do you know anything!?" His tone was sharp and he started pacing as he talked.

My brain struggled to keep up, The forsaken? English wasn't his first language? I was so swept up in these thoughts I Forgot that Robyn was in the room still, he was petrified, "Robyn who the fuck is this guy?" I asked him, Apollo clicked his tongue and sat down.

Apollo then drew my attention, he glared at me and motioned for me to get closer. "So, Akira, I've decided to even up the sides in this war by giving you my help." "The war against Blue Moon?" "Shut up and listen, The larger war, the one you are in the process of starting, The fight between Immortals and The Forsaken, the battle between realms," Apollo explained slowly, he put a hand on my shoulder.

"Charlotte is their champion...you will be mine." The last thing I saw was the golden glow of his eyes before it all went black.
