The Imaginary Clown: Marvel Fanfiction

A young man named Anthony lives with misfortune throughout his life. He was raised with abuse, neglect, and violence. Fortunately, he has someone in his life who never made him feel alone. Some people say he's just a figment of his imagination. A fracture inside the mind that formed through his environment. To cope with all the pain. Whatever they were saying..... But Anthony knew that was not the case at all, he knew very well that someone was living inside of him. He calls himself, Jihn. ----------------------- Stated inside a mental institution for his crimes and considered mentally insane, he planned a bet with his dear friend, Jihn. If he didn’t got out of that damn prison-like place for 3 months, his so-called imaginary friend will blow everything to bits including the civilians. Will the bet between two insane people be continued or will an unprecedented event happen, that would change both of their lives? (This is my first time writing fanfiction. I hope you can help me progress better for tolerable entertainment.) (PS. Although it’s in Marvel Universe, it won’t follow the MCU version. A lot of other elements will be added to have more spice. Mainly from comics and other genres.)

Me, Myself, and I

"Alright, I already packed some necessities after scavenging some stuff that's conveniently placed here," it's true, though, "I got me some energy bars, bottled water...."

"Okay, okay, save your self-narration for later," the clown said, placing his imaginary hands on his ears.

"It's because you were sleeping earlier while I was busting my ass finding these, and you haven't heard the good part..."

If anyone could see your smile right now, they would think it'd be up to no good.

"Oh?" placing his hands across his chest, waiting for your grand révéler, "What's the surprise?"

He's smirking again.

"Swipe that smug face of yours first," you rolled your eyes.

"Look, I found this in our room," you held up a mysterious deck of cards in the air, "This is the Major Arcana tarot pack... The Fool, The Moon—

"That's it?" a disappointed sigh was heard from the clown.

"Okay, tell me how the fuck did a tarot pack magically appeared in our room, hm?"

"Mon chéri, are you saying it has something to do with what's happening right now?" he's now smiling as if he already knew what I was gonna say.

"One thing they're in common: they're somewhere they're not supposed to be, so we're investigating this shit later," you put the tarot cards back in the duffle bag you found at the staff office.

Jihn didn't reply, but you knew he was smiling mischievously.

And if the clown's being honest.. there's some sense of familiarity with him from that tarot cards. Not that he remembers much, all he knows is Anthony, and him only.

"Oh and I also changed my attire, heh, wouldn't want anyone thinking we're bonkers, right?"

The clown was silent.

I wanna slap his face, Anthony thought.

But that would be slapping myself.

I hate this.

After getting everything ready, you asked the clown, "You wanna take the wheel or—"

"Non."

You can picture him laying somewhere comfy, and just enoying the show.

You just grunted and proceeded to the exit, again.

Creak—-

As you open that door, the scene before you never fails to amaze you, not by its aesthetics, but by the sheer insanity of it.

Grabbing the flashlight, you take a step into the maze of corn stalks.

"In some states, many million acres of land are planted with corn," you paused, "this might take a while..."

Jhin hummed, "Corn fields are laid out in rows, if you follow a row, we're bound to get to the edge of the field pretty soon—

Typically, farm houses tend to be planted in specific places on these grids, depending on its water availability, of course.."

You nodded in response.

All those books we've read definitely paid off, he can be a walking wikipedia for all I know.

"And... Anthony," suddenly the clown's voice softened, "You know we only got each other, right?"

The image you've been working on faltered, rippling back to the days where there's only you and Jhin.

The world was awfully miserable..

And cruel.

Now, it's just you and him again, within a place where you're both fully free. No restrictions, no nothing.

You smiled in return, a silent plea that answers everything.
