Arrived

"Are you Ms. Chen Waan?" a stranger approached Chen Waan as she came out of the airport with her bags.

It had been one week since the incident with Mo Yifan and although the hype around her had died down, it did not deter Fu Fanghua from chasing her day and night. She ended up not going out at all. Thankfully, all her arrangements for visa and everything to China were taken care of by Chinese Cultural Ministry, and she did not need to step out of the house more than once.

All her documents had arrived on New Year day and she had decided to fly two days later. She was given a contact with her documents, so she assumed it was from the Cultural Ministry.

Even though the buzz had died down, she still had to be careful. Donning the mask, it was very easy for her to fly without being recognized. But this person in front of her had identified her in an instant. How?

"Are you Mr. Fan?" she asked, confirming the name on the information she had got.

"Yes, I am from the Cultural Ministry. I would take you to the hotel," Mr. Fan, who looked like a man in his late twenties bowed slightly and took her bags. Chen Waan stared at him for a moment, throwing him off for once.

That probing stare from this girl was very uncomfortable. If she could make such an expression at this young age, he wondered where she would be with right training. No wonder his boss had asked everyone to bring this girl here by any means.

Chen Waan just bowed politely and thanked the bewildered man before her.

They went to the car which was waiting outside the terminal to pick Chen Waan up. She whistled at the sight of the luxurious SUV.

"A Jaguar huh?" she exclaimed. Mr. Fan did not respond and calmly opened the door for the girl. Then he sat down at the driver's seat and drove off.

"Mr. Fan, don't you think this is a little too extravagant for a student like me who just topped the language exam? I was wondering if you got the right person to pick up," Chen Waan took out her phone and adjusted her hair in the front camera before taking a jab at the driver and the potential person who might have sent this car.

"I am not sure why you think so. You are our country's guest, we should treat you with utmost respect," Mr. Fan looked in the rearview mirror to evaluate what the girl was thinking but was surprised when he saw her smirking.

"Oh? Is that what Mr. Wang said?" she asked arrogantly, a cold gaze in her eyes. A chill went down the spine of the man in the front seat. Did she already figure it out?

"I mean, he already called me to persuade to join his agency. Why go through all this bogus route to invite me to the company? He could have just directly sent me the tickets. I must say, he is not really hiding his identity once I am here, eh?" Chen Waan yawned.

It was not like she was not eager to meet this Wang Zenghao. But this way was not what she had wanted. Plus, his offer. Never mind, she would talk about it when she would meet him.

Mr. Fan did not reply after that and quietly drove the car. "I was right then," Chen Waan smiled.

After a two hour ride, the girl was standing in front of the tall WhirlWind Entertainment in the middle of Beijing. Before heading in, she inhaled deeply, to get rid of her nerves. Finally! She had been preparing for years for this moment. She was going to meet that man and see for herself, how the murderer of her mother looked like.

------------

"Welcome, welcome Ms. Chen. I have been wanting to meet you for so long. I knew you were proficient in many languages, but I did not know you were clever enough to figure out who was behind calling you here," Wang Zenghao got up from his seat to welcome the teenager.

When he saw the girl before him, it felt like some distant memory was being evoked in his heart. But he had no idea why it was so. Anyway, he had anticipated her to be a nerd but this girl was beyond redemption. Would he need to make her go through plastic surgery for his plan? Damn it!

"Well, pretty sure I do need brains to retain so many languages, no President Wang?" she crossed her arms in front of her, a confident smile on her face. But there was a disappointment in her eyes. This guy, he did not even say anything on seeing her. Did he not recognize her?

Her blood started to boil. But she had to remain calm. Initially she had thought that this guy had recognized her by face because of the video, which was why he was asking her to fly all the way here. But from his reaction just now, the unfamiliarity, he definitely did not connect the strings.

Now she had a decision to make, should she remain anonymous and then attack, or should she reveal herself directly? Former would be better, right?

This man, who must be in his late fifties, was very mysterious. He had established this company from scratch some twenty five years ago, but had never come out in the public eye. There was no news about him, no information about him. Just general stuff like his birth, education, family etc.

His family was not very rich from any angle, and he himself had not acted or performed anywhere. All he had with him was his keen eye for talent. He started with just one artist and built this company from all the profits he raked in.

At a time, he only promoted 10-15 people, which was very amusing. He had no plans to expand the company just yet. But these 10-15 people were all at top in their fields, be it singing, dancing or acting.

So, when she suddenly got a call on third day after the incident, that too him making an offer to her to join his company, Chen Waan could not really wrap her head around it. She had toiled for so many years, to make herself employable at a big corporation in China but the opportunity to meet his very man had presented by itself.

She was elated at first. Then she thought it was a scam. After the man confirmed through various means that he was indeed Wang Zenghao, she had probably danced a bit too in her mind.

And then he put his conditions forward to her.
