A generous reward

"I'm going to Las Vegas for work, and I'll be away for a month," Iris said, looking into Theo's eyes with a touch of unease. She didn't know how Theo would react, but she had made up her mind not to give up her career for love.

Theo's hand, which was in the midst of pouring water, froze for a moment before he looked up at her in disbelief. "When?" he asked.

"The day after tomorrow," Iris replied straightforwardly. She had just received the message from Mr. Hadid, and she didn't have much time left to prepare or to organize her words.

"I mean, when did you decide to go to Las Vegas for this job?" Theo didn't even raise his head to look at Iris, instead keeping his gaze lowered as he casually holding a porcelain cup.

Iris felt a pang of disappointment. She hadn't anticipated such a cold response from Theo. She had believed that he would support her decision, considering his own dedication and passion for his job.
