Returned safely

Chapter 24: We returned Safely.

We wandered into the forest for a while before arriving at a fenced yard. We climbed a tree to look into the environment and saw three bungalows all in different spaces.

The first house should be 5km from the second and so it is to the third.

"I can feel my bond with Aaron faintly. I think he was given a lot more dose of the witch's bane. It makes me weak." Cali told us.

"I see two vamps in an entrance. I can make us invisible but we can't go in, they had a witch create a barrier, it's gonna get hard to break in."

"I'll try." Cali told her and jumped down from the tree. She tiptoed to the side of the wall, used her palm to press down the dusty floor, her eyes closed and she started speaking inaudibly.

Her eyes snapped open immediately revealing red crimson iris. A color not similar to that of my mate's own. "It burned me internally. No wonder I couldn't feel the bond."

"Damn it!!. We can't stay. It's dangerous."

Wendy said and climbed down.

"The vamps might smell us, let's go and come back with our soldiers." I sighed and tried climbing down but unfortunately missed a branch and fell in a pile of leaves gathered on the dusty ground.

A loud outburst echoed through the forest, and when we looked, we found men approaching us. A group of weird looking men walking up to us. "Run, the vamps."

I took to my run instantly but it didn't take long before huge hands grabbed me from behind, a pin stabbed into my neck made my eyes gradually become heavier but it caught Cali and Wendy being taken down before I finally gave myself to darkness.

A loud exchange of words beside me woke me up from my uncomfortable sleep. My eyes had simply become too heavy to open but then I forcefully let it open. The first thing my eyes met was a young handsome hot guy standing in front of me.

I gulped down nervously as he came closer and bent down to my level. "Hi." He says.

"Hey, get us out of here or …" Wendy started. "Just shut up." He interrupts rudely and turns to me, looking right into my sea blue eyes. "She's beautiful." He told others and I heard someone giggle behind.

That was when I found out that we were not alone in the cell. There were three pale looking young men standing by the door and only a female sitting at the extreme.

"Is she the mysterious one I heard about?"

He asked, pointing down at me. "Don't disrespect her, dick." Cali shouts. It didn't take 2 seconds for a vampire's hand to land on her cheek. She turned sideways and vomited blood. The man who had done that grabbed her neck. "Please don't hurt her. I beg you."

"Leave her." The guy standing before me says. "But master.."

"Leave her alone, now!" He ordered, his voice very hard on him. He instantly let go and walked to stand with others.

"Why are you protecting people who abducted you and kept you against your will?" A question from him let me put my mind back on him.

"She's my friend." I told him. He stared at me for a while. "Dave let her go."

"What?." The guy asked shocked as we were.

"Let them go"

"Master?. What did you say?" I and Cali exchanged eye contact, wondering what was happening with the vamp.

"I also want the ones you kidnapped back with us." I added brusquely. I didn't want to know if I sounded rude or anything but the way these people are messing around with me is getting me annoyed. I didn't care if he ties us back and tortures us till eternity. "What're you doing?, bitch." Wendy grunted out, I roll my eyes at her and turn back to the vampire.

"Which one of them is your mate?."

"Stefan." I replied lowly.

"Dave, let them go. All of them."

"It's an order." He added and vanished out in a vampily way.

It took us almost 15km walk to reach the cage. I have basically avoided any talk from the both parties while we walked. I've stayed with these people for a week and 4days and I couldn't talk properly with them, not even my so-called mate.

Although I had felt comfortable conversing with Cali, I would not say we were friends, because they practically kidnapped me, they could have kept me in a dungeon if not for their inability to find out who I was.

Walking through the bushes and passing the barrier with them, I put back my hood back on my head and walked alongside Cali. I bent my head all the time as we passed crowds of people, their houses and markets to the area where they lived.

I made sure Wendy put Stefan down on his bed. She sat with him and started pulling off his shirt. I turned around and left the room. A pang of pain washes through me. I clutch my heart and try making the pain go away but as I stand outside the closed door, memories of my mate with his lover clouded my mind.

I found myself standing in front of Cali's door. I knocked lightly on the door but decided to leave after thinking of what Cali would be doing inside with her mate.

Aaron had been gone for a day and I didn't want to disturb any of them. I was about to leave when the door creaked open revealing Cali half naked. Was she always comfortable going naked?.

"I have nowhere to go." I said looking helpless. "Ooh. I'm so sorry. I was busy with.... Nevermind. I'll put some clothes on and take you to my room."

"Thank you. I'm grateful." She smiled.

"Do you wanna come in?" She asked. I blushed deeply. "No. I'll be fine here" I replied as I had seen enough of them going naked.
