Chapter 51: I lost.

All heads bowed respectively, as she walked to stand in the centre of the hall. Few minutes ago, I had been the center of attention, now it was my mom who hated me with everything in her. The look she gave me was demeaning like she never valued me before.

Why am I able to hear your thoughts?. Asked my mate in my head.

The bond is strong, stronger than you can ever imagine. We'll talk about that later.

I replied to her and focused back on my mother's domineering form. "On my way here, I smelt vampires, wolves, mermaids. What is going on?." Her voice was strong and intimidating. She had the utmost authority now.

"We've had words go to them but they wouldn't agree with our sentiments." The leader explained, careful not to anger her.

"What are their requests?." She asked. Madame beckoned on Naomi to carry one of the chairs to where she was standing.

A seat was quickly kept for her and she sat down, making her the only one sitting among all of us.

"The chosen one." The leader replied, looking at my mate. The atmosphere was tense, no one spoke after we watched her think to herself.

"What do you have to say about this?." She asked. The leader opened her mouth to talk, "Not you, but Stefan Brown."

All eyes went on me and I looked at my mate, "Mom.." My mate began.

A hand in the air made my mate shut her mouth. I could feel her fears in our bond and I frowned.

I grabbed her arm and pushed her to my arms protectively. Ann was smiling..

"I'm not trying to use my aura on her. You're the reason they are here, true or false." I tried to understand what she was saying but couldn't.

"Answer me, hunter." I was angered, she was using her spirit against me. My powers burst off me and my eyes turned a mixture of blue and black.

Blue the color of the royals and black, the dark power roaming inside me.

She charged towards me and in a flash, she was pinning me down against the hard wall, with her claws deepening into my throat. I heard her scream, it filled the hall and when I looked at her, she was on the floor vomiting blood.

The bond was messing with her and she was weak to fight as she had not mastered her powers. She was hurting because of me. "You..are hur..ting her." I stuttered out gritting my teeth together.

Ann released me and turned. I slacked down on the cold floor watching my mate in pain. "Take care of her." She ordered and some members scurried away to do her bidding.

I thought my mother was a very soft woman, now all my dad has told us which I couldn't bring myself to believe was beginning to come true. She turned sharply to me with cold blooded eyes. "We would be visiting the vampires tonight. Get ready." She announced and walked out.

I walked into the room to my mate's unconscious body. I wonder why a mother would hurt her child this way. The way Elena took her foster mom, the way she told me was completely a different thing from what I am seeing now. Even if she didn't take me as her son for whatever reason she has, but not Elena who has been with her since she was a child.

I had just spoken to the clan doctor about her and he said she was fine. I was satisfied after seeing her sleep peacefully.

I walked out and closed the door behind. I walked through the hallway and stumbled into Elena's foster sister. Julia who had given my mate a very hard time at their home.

I walked past her without a word, "You're really a jerk, huh." She said, stopping me from walking ahead. "You know what, I wonder why you had to be my brother." She stated and I turned, raising my brows.

"I didn't know there was more drama coming up after Ellie left. I didn't believe one bit that I was going to be into these folktales stories, that my mom was actually a witch and that I am also a witch." She pointed at herself and started walking around me.

She grabbed my shoulder and walked through my left side to stand in front of me. "And you have a twin brother also." She said and started laughing hysterically. She was beginning to irritate me.

I slowly grabbed her hand and pulled her out of my face. I turned sharply, "I do not like you and I also do not want you to touch me again." I warned strictly and continued my journey outside the castle.

I walked outside and found others waiting for me. I walked to stand beside Ann. "You are late." She stated coldly. I ignored her and watched her take steps to the car and the driver drove off.

We reached the white witches' border and climbed down from the car. Ann was standing in the middle of other witches as we watched other parked cars open.

The only light seen in the dark night was the light coming out from the numerous cars around. Then I saw him, Jake.

He walked and stood before Ann. I was glaring dangerously at him, ready to snap his head if he ever tries any stupid move.

"We've come to take her back." He stated looking at me. I watch Ann chuckle, "Why?."

"She would be safer in the vampire kingdom." I scoffed at his lame excuse to have my mate.

"The very one you wanted to kill?. Really?." Ann asked, amusedly. She was making fun of them.

"That was a mistake, and we are able to correct the mistake." He answered.

"A single mistake could have ended her life. This is not what we discussed, vamp. So as you put her life in danger once, we can't be able to trust you again. End of the discussion, she is staying with us." I smirked.

Teeth bared, eyes turned red and he attacked Ann. Ann sent him flying 5 fts from us and others attacked.

Snap, snap, snap. I was still fighting a wolf when I felt strange lightning come down from the sky, and burst us off from each other. Everyone stayed back, watching in shock as to what was happening, then immediately I felt a pin at my neck and fell on my knees. My eyes started to get heavy and finally I lost myself to darkness.
