Chapter thirteen

The ride home was quiet besides the soft sound of the radio, I was focused on driving and Jasper and Kris were on their phones, I still have no idea why Jasper was so mad, and he honestly scared me when he punched the window, I hope the gang doesn't think anything.

once we finally arrived at the pack house, everyone got out of the car and headed for the doors to be met by my mom and dad.

"How'd it go guys?" mom asked and we all groaned.

"It wasn't as bad as I thought but the smell was absolutely awful" Kris said making me and Jasper crinkle our noses and nod in agreement, we all walked into the kitchen and I grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge while kris and Jasper sat a the table along with my mom and dad I just stood leaned against the counter.

"have you guys caught onto anything yet?" my father asked

"yes actually, the boy I saw in the woods, I found him and his sister and friends" I stated before taking a sip of my water.

"great, that's good, I need their first and last names, all of them that you have encountered I'm going to have Brian do a background check on them" my dad said leaning back in his chair and I nodded.

"Xander Cooper, Harper Cooper, Sophia Bridges, Trinity Hampton, Jack Mitchell, Quinn Stevens and Chase Matthews, those are their names" I said and my dad nodded

"great job" he said and Jasper smacked the table.

"did you just say Xander was a hunter?" he asked with venom and I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Yes, the boy in the woods" he scoffed

"you're telling me this hunter is your mate?" he said and the room went silent as my face paled

"what is he talking about Iris?" my dad asked with a raised eyebrows and I felt my heart beat faster against my chest and my breathing quickened.

"The boy I found in the woods, the hunter I saw, he's my mate" I whisper and my mom sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"Are you sure sweetie" she asked and looked at me with sympathy.

"Yes, I felt the pull, I felt the bond, and oh my god his smell" I said and a smile found it's way up onto my face.

"oh my goddess" she whispered and I frowned

"I'm sorry" I spoke and she smiled at me

"It's okay sweetie, we'll work it all out. he's your mate you're going to need him" she said with a big smile and I smiled.

"yeah if he doesn't kill her first" Jasper mumbled and I growled

"shut up dip shit"  I growled out and my mom shot me a disapproving glare

"okay, what happened between you two, you guys were best friends and now you guys barely talk and you're always looking like you're going to kill Jasper" My dad said and I looked away while Jasper huffed

"nothing happened, we just had an argument, it's not a big deal" I spoke and my mom thankfully changed the topic.

"anyways, did you guys make new friends?" she asked

"oh my god yes, I met a group of really nice girls and they're all so pretty" Kris cooed and I smiled, glad she wasn't feeling excluded from everyone.

"yeah and I made good friends with some guys, they want me to join the football team" Jasper said and I scoffed making everyone look at me

"what's wrong with that" Jasper asked with a glare and I glared back

"nothing, just the self-absorbed jocks making friends with you, you must fit right in" I said with a fake smile and he frowned at me.

"what about you Iris?" my mom asked completely ignoring what I said and I smiled.

"I made friends with the hunters" I said and they nodded their heads

"that's smart, make friends with the enemies, even though your mate isn't our enemy" my dad said and I smiled at him sweetly.

"by the way, there's a party at Xander and Harpers house tonight, they invited me and you wouldn't have to worry about me getting a ride, I already found one" I said and my mother looked at me

"sweetie I don't think th-" my dad interrupted her

"Elvira, this might actually be a smart idea, not only does it make her appear as normal but she also can learn more about them, and we need as much information as possible" he said and my mom nodded understandingly.

"oh by the way, Kaylee invited me to it as well and she's picking me up" Kris said and we all smiled.

"okay I'll let you girls go get ready" my dad said and we hurried up the stair and towards our separate rooms.

Once I was in my room with my phone I texted the number Xander gave me and gave him my address.

Xander: hey, Harper found out you were going to the party and is making me stay home while she gets ready with you, so I'll give her your number and address and she should be there in about an hour

me: oh okay sounds good

I'll admit I was disappointed that I wouldn't be riding with him, but at the same time I was excited that I would get ready with Harper.

I didn't really know what else to do with my time so I sat on my bed and started reading one of my favorite book series, the selection series, and I was reading it again so I was on the first book.

about an hour later my phone dinged and I look at it to see it was from a number I didn't know, it was probably Harper.

Harper: hey I'm outside, I didn't know wether to text or knock, but the house is really big so I didn't know if you would hear me knocking

me: okay I'll be right down lmao

I proceeded to walk down the stairs, well more like jog, and I opened the front door to see Harper, Sophia, Quinn and Trinity all standing outside admiring the house.

"Well look what the cat dragged in" I said and they all looked at me with smiles and I responded with my own smile as well.

"what's up?" Harper asked and I shrugged

"nothing much, just waiting for your lazy ass to show up" I laughed and she shook her head at me.

"well I had to grab the rest of the girls" she said motioning to everyone behind her.

"let's get ready shall we?" I asked and everyone nodded with smirks as I lead them inside.

Once we got inside my room Harper was already opening her bag to reveal three outfits for herself, Quinn, Sophia and Trinity did the same.

"Which outfit should I wear?" Harper asked and I looked at the three choices she had, one was a skin tight light blue dress, which just overall did not fit her personality at all.

"well that one sure as hell is not an option" I said motioning to blue one and she agreed throwing it back in her bag, the other option was a pink two piece and I instantly knew that was not it, the last one was a black two piece as well and it honestly fit her personality very well.

"that one" I said motioning to the black two piece, she went into my mini walk in closet and got dressed, when she came out she was absolutely beautiful and Sophia looked at her with nothing but love.

"wow Harp, you look gorgeous" Sophia said before turning towards her three options.

"I need help as well" Sophia said and I looked over her shoulder at her three dresses that were lying on my bed.

she had a light green sparkly dress with a slit on the side but it just didn't scream that it was for her, then she had two yellow dress, one floor length, which wasn't an option because we were going to a party, I looked at the other yellow dress and knew it was the one.

"this one" I said pointing to the plain short tight fitting yellow dress.

"okay I'll be right back" she said with a smile and went and changed in my closet, she came out in the beautiful yellow dress.

"beautiful, now let's help me" Quinn said impatiently and we rolled our eyes.

I walked over to where Quinn was and looked at the three dresses she had out, there was a pink one which was out of the question, all that was left was a small plain black dress and a red low V cut dress which I instantly knew fit her personality.

"that one" I said pointing to the red one and she grinned 

"great taste newbie" she said as she walked into the closet and changed into the alluring red dress.

"no need to help Trinity, she already picked an outfit back at her house"  Harper said and I looked at Trinity to see her heading into the closet with her dress.

She came out and smirked at me.

"now time to help you" Trinity said and I gave her a questioning look before Harper started pulling a dress out of her bag and my mouth dropped to the ground.

"if you think I'm wearing that you are deathly wrong" I said still in shock

"why" she whines and I huffed

"because my ass cheeks are going to be hanging out" I said and she laughed

"that's the whole point" Quinn said and I looked at her

"people are going to think I'm a whore if I wear that" I whined

"no, people are going to think you're a hot bad bitch, and besides, don't you want to make Xander want you even more?" Quinn said and I blushed

"I don't know what you're talking about" I said faking confusion

"don't bullshit us Iris, we noticed you've taken a liking to my brother, and I have also noticed it's mutual" Harper said and I blushed.

"they're right, he wouldn't keep his eyes off of you at lunch" Sophia said and I smiled and blushed, before hesitantly taking the dress and changing into it.

I walked out of the closet and they looked at me.

"Jesus bitch if I wasn't straight I'd have fucked you already" Trinity said and we all started laughing.

after we finished our makeup we put our shoes on and head towards Harpers black Land Rover.

We arrived at Harper and Xander's house shortly after and it was beautiful, people were everywhere, and I was lead to the back of the house where most of the party was, there was a big pool and seat around, there was also a fire pit off to the side, I looked around hoping to find the person who made me come to the party tonight, I saw him alright, I looked over to him and....

WHAT THE FUCK!!!
