Chapter 30: Reunion

I wake up relaxed, and Mei smiles at me from the other side of the room. She looks like her old self, carefree. “Good morning sunshine!” she says with a giggle and leaves the blanket she was folding to the side.
I wiggle myself up slightly and manage to sit on the bed as she pulls a tray with her and the door opens to let the nurse walk in. “Good morning, Luna.”
I nod to her with a smile and she sits next to me with the bandages and the tray that Mei brings, where the medication is. She carefully pulls the bandage from my both hands, throws them towards the bin, and soaks the new ones with the medication, which she then wraps carefully back around my hands.
She then proceeds to do the same with the ones on my neck; I tilt my head up so she can access it with ease. The whole process takes about two or three minutes, and then the nurse smiles, stands up, and walks away.
