2 Amethyst Eyes

Whoosh!

The eyes of a certain individual glowed an amethyst color as the individual's spasming muscles soon came to a rest. The individual, who seemed to be a naive teenager in a school uniform, actually possessed eyes filled to the brim with knowledge and wisdom, as if they were the eyes of a scholar.

The boy sighed as he inhaled the scent of the crisp uniform that smelled of strawberries. It was a sweet scent for many, but nostalgic for the boy, who had been spending his days ruling over his clan.

After understanding the situation and that he had indeed returned to the past, Alex Horatius, the boy with amethyst eyes, and the one who Isabella had so desperately tried to rescue, revealed a slight smile unnoticeable if not carefully searched for.

'Some fragments of my memories remain from that night, but most are lost and nowhere to be found,' Alex, the previous leader of the Ryoujin Clan sighed. 'Isabella…'

The death of his secretary was difficult to process, and only the worst parts had been rendered to Alex's memory. Her confused expression, pained voice, and finally, the quiet yet lethal decapitation.

The river of thick liquid that burst from her neck and the shadows of those who dared to lay their hands on her. Alex was not vengeful of his own death, since it was imminent. He was weak compared to the other powerhouses of Telos Dou Dromou. However, Isabella was nigh innocent when compared to Alex, who had committed atrocious acts in the name of maintaining balance.

The guilt was painful as Alex soon shut his eyes, revealing a single drop of tear that dripped down from his cheek and onto the cold, hard floor of a classroom. It was the signal that marked the beginning of the one who seeks revenge. The one who seeks revenge on all, and has a chance to reverse all that had gone wrong.

'I can gather forces, find hidden pieces, become stronger, and topple those who wronged Isabella,' He realized, causing a maniacal grin to blossom on his face. The twelve years he spent escaping from misery were to be lived through again, but surprisingly, Alex did not feel any negative emotions when thinking about that. 'I'm currently sixteen, judging by my uniform and classmates, which means the apocalypse should initiate today.'

Typically, a sane man would yearn to discover the one who had put him in such a situation. But rather, Alex did not care, even going forward as to wish that person prosperity. He needed to become powerful to rescue those he loved and burn those who hurt the former.

"Mr. Horatius, are you all right?" An aged voice entered Alex's ears, to which he turned towards a man with dropping eyelids holding a half-used piece of chalk. "Pay attention to class, will you?"

"Yes, Mr.. er…" Alex struggled to remember the name of the teacher, but the latter had already turned and resumed teaching the class. Alex sighed in relief as he pretended not to notice the stares of his classmates.

'When will it begin?' He wondered as he restlessly fidgeted with his hands. He cringed at the fragile flesh and bones he currently possessed, finding them to be useless on his path. Stones of Soma would be extremely helpful towards strengthening his physical body, and it is what he yearned to find as soon as the apocalypse began.

Alex struggled to find other things to think about as he patiently waited for the apocalypse to begin. However, one subject that remained in his mind was that he had returned to 'Earth'. The word sounded unfamiliar yet familiar simultaneously.

However, as soon as he began searching his own mind for information about his old planet, a bursting flash of light came into view, startling not only the entire class but even him. His reflexes had been trained to the maximum, and that did not change even with his old, fragile body.

Sensitivity was a factor that every warrior needed to be successful in their field, and Alex was the personification of such a thing. Despite being startled at first, Alex immediately grabbed his backpack and slung it over his left shoulder. He then revealed his middle finger to his classmates and teacher before eagerly exiting the school using the window.

As he fell to the ground, an intense pain clouded his vision.

'I really need to strengthen my body…' He reminded himself before sprinting towards his next destination. Looking towards the sky, he noticed that the burst of light had been from the formation of an unknown figure. It was unknown to humanity but extremely familiar to Alex.

'Beli, the Giant from Nordic Mythology and the one who invaded Earth, apparently on the order of the deities,' Alex remembered, spitting viciously on the muddy ground as he directed a glare towards the figure.

Rocks appeared in the light-blue sky as they fell from grace, igniting sparks of flames due to the acceleration. Dark shadows turned into orange spheres as they hurled towards the defenseless and fragile ground of the technologically-advanced planet.

'Technology does not matter in the face of ancient history, however,' Alex sighed. He had been optimistic about Earth easily surviving its downfall due to the immense advancement in technology, yet it was fodder against a singular Lesser Giant. If he were in his old state, Alex could flick his finger and absolutely obliterate a Lesser Giant. However, for now, the tables had turned in the Giant's favor.

Alex ignored the helpless cries of his classmates and the screams of their misery as a meteor struck the school. He expected most of his classmates to survive, however, since the meteors at the beginning of the apocalypse were extremely weak. In fact, he had survived the same way in his previous life.

'The teacher will die, just like last time.'

He would have felt extreme guilt if he were not familiar with death. Yet, all he felt now was greed at the potential chance of him finding the hidden pieces of the 'tutorial' set on Earth. It was the place they were tested before being transported to the Red Area, where they would be put against each other in battles to the death.

As he sprinted at a consistent speed despite his body protesting violently, a tiny house came into view. It was Alex's house, the one he had lived happily in along with his father, Jyn Horatius.

Tears threatened to exit his eyelids once again, but he desperately held them in. He swore an oath; an oath to never cry again. He hoped that his father would be alive so that they could escape and live their lives together. He hoped it would not be like last time when he was too late.

A distance of a kilometer turned into five-hundred meters, which then turned into barely two hundred. However, as a bright smile blossomed on Alex's face at the thought that he would rescue his father, a giant boulder lathered in flames entered his vision. A shriek exited his mouth, but it was helplessly buried under the deafening noise of the boulder colliding with his home, crushing it instantly.

The wood lit on fire as it ignited the other properties beside it. It wasn't like Alex's previous when he had arrived late and found his home crushed under the rock. No, this time, he had actually experienced the event, which made it even more difficult to cope with.

Alex fell to his knees as the sharp rocks dug into his skin. The gravel irritated his shin as several wounds opened up. He did not have the leeway to think about his fragile body. Alex's mind was clouded by the grotesque figure of his father that lay in the distance. An unrecognizable body, yet a familiar scent of ashes.

Alex's amethyst eyes shook away from his father's corpse and peered into the sky, where a Giant stood with a smirk. The former's body trembled as killing intent burst outwards. It wasn't in the form of pressure that many warriors had, but it was stunning when considering the state of his weak, human body.

Alex gritted his teeth as he mumbled curses towards the Giant, who could not perceive the anger that the former felt towards him.

"I will rip you apart, piece by piece. Even the deity who ordered you to do such a thing! I will rip all of you apart!"
