1 -Prologue-

Dear Cross-bearer,

If you are reading this note, that means you found the trinkets. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look down, on the surface of my vanity table. There should be two necklaces: one a golden cross, and the other a gem the colour of the cleanest water, in the shape of a teardrop.

To me they were just trinkets. Nothing more. But I was mistaken.

These trinkets are holy. They were said to have been dropped directly from Heaven. The Cross you see is actually made from the holiest metal, infused with heavenly fire. It's said that it chooses you. That's why you are holding it in the palm of your hand. You got chosen. Otherwise, why would you be standing there? To steal my jewelry? In this world, now full of Corpses? Where would money and jewels be of any use?

I wasn't chosen though. I was just the one who found them, near the graveyard.

Did you notice a pull to this area? An unheard voice calling out to you? An unseen hand reaching for you? Yes, you've indeed been chosen.

The other trinket - the Teardrop - is said to be made of crystalized holy water. If the power is unlocked by the strongest will to save someone, it releases holy water, that can never be depleted. It also protects its bearer. The only catch is that the bearer of the Teardrop must also be chosen - by the one that was chosen by the Cross.

Why am I telling you this? This world is falling to ruin, ever since Evil got the upper hand. You and the Teardrop's bearer are the only ones to defeat this evil. But, be warned. Demons, Corpses, Vampires, and all of Evil is seeking to destroy the Holy Trinkets. The only reason why they hadn't found it yet, is because the last priest, Hector, placed holy wards around this house. It won't last long, because holy wards are temporary if created by only one priest. As soon as you leave this house with the Trinkets, the ward would perish, and the house will fall to ashes.

You need to get to Hector as soon as possible. In the bottom drawer on the left, you will find a leather-bound book. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Soon, Cross-bearer, we will meet. Until then, be careful, for you are our only hope.
