The Trafford's Decree

Hello...

As you have noticed, there are some irregularities in the updates.

Here is the situation: I am now in my final year of University, so right now, in the second half of February, I started writing my Diploma Thesis, which is taking most of my time, aside from finishing the work for some of the seminars. I have a rather extensive theme for my Thesis, which requires a lot of work, so I don't really have time for writing coupled with other studies.

During this time, I had a lot of time to think about my future, as unfortunate as it is...

I started writing in 2018 and more actively, especially on the patreon in year 2020 and 2021. I was investing a lot of my time, practically all of my free time, into writing, creating new things, and so on.

My goal always was to create something stable, but considering that my first original novel was an utter catastrophe that hardly made income in proportion to the time I was investing into the novel, which was a lot, like very, very lot. While the Star Citizen Online: Isekai Edition has just now gone into Premium, I don't really have illusions that it would be some turning point...

For the past six years, I have been attempting to create some sort of stable income so that in the future, after I finish University, I can dedicate all the time I had to write and do it as a full-time job...

But it seems that Fate has different plans with it.

For the past half year, my patreon has been stagnating/declining, though the overall situation is that I cannot really make a living from the income I made from writing my novels. Considering the declining trends, in a few months, it would reach such a degree that I just cannot continue writing professionally and releasing overall something around 50k (sometimes it was more, around 60k) words per month in all of my novels.

In the end, it is very, very, very likely that starting from September, I would need to go and find a job, which isn't really that good considering that I never did anything even a bit related to practicing Law during the past five years. Right now, my best bet and the best course of action is to pursue another degree, meaning a Ph.D. in the History of Law, so I would spend another few years at the University and then perhaps continue teaching.

The worst situation would be the one where I would need to find a job, which, with my zero work experience, would be a really funny thing to do (mad joker laugh).

So the conclusion is as follows:

Till September 2024, basically, nothing would change, and I would be releasing chapters normally as I was till now, which is guaranteed. I have enough chapters to cover the next months and also the flexible schedule to work with to write more after I finish with my thesis in the end of March and rewrite of the thesis during the April.

After September 2024, I... I don't know.

I don't want to lie to you, but the most probable scenario is that I wouldn't be able to release chapters as often, and I would be released only when I have some free time to work; that is just my own assumption.

It would also depend on where I would end after graduating. If it is scenario one, and I will be accepted into the Ph.D. course, then there would be more free time. If it is scenario two, then... it would be largely fucked up like hell, because you know... I would need to start from the bottom of the bottom in the legal business, so I would be happy to have some time to sleep.

I am writing this to let you know what is happening so we are all aware of all circumstances regarding my novels and my future works.

Right now, the most probable scenario is that, after September 2024, I will be writing and publishing chapters during weekends or when I would have free time on my work schedule, though it would largely depend on my different factors.

I will bring more detailed news about this somewhere in July or August 2024; then I will have more information to work with. I will also release another announcement about what would happen with the concrete novels.

Though for now, I can safely say that Holy Chronicles of Baator and A Song of Blood and Sunlight would be finished no matter what.

Yours,

Trafford.
