Chapter #10

*KNOCK, KNOCK!*

A rowdy bang comes from a glass door, as Kain slowly approaches the doorway. "Oo! Damien, so glad you could make it to my humble estate on this ravishing afternoon," Kain exclaims in pleasantry, after opening the doorway.

"Ha, no problem Kain, I wouldn't miss it for anything…"

Kain beams with a contentful smile. "Splendid! I'm so happy to have you over. Truthfully, Damien, I was a little worried that you wouldn't show up. I don't know what I would have done to you if you hadn't." Kain displays a gentle smile.

"Of course, I came! After all, it's not like I had any plans to run away…or anything…"

*ACHOO!*

Kain notices Damien's stern state, as a frigid blow of gustful wind, passes. "Come in already Damien, you're gonna catch a cold if you stand there idly." Kain motions Damien inside.

"Anywho! I couldn't sleep yesterday, because I was so excited about today, especially about telling you the famous tale of the 'Slayer of West Point'.' Kain mentions while pointing to a room.

"Yeah, about that, you seemed really excited to talk about this 'slayer.' Who is he?"

"Oho! This makes me even more excited, To tell this extraordinary story to someone who hasn't been revealed of this tale before. Kain leaps invigoratingly.

<Geez. Kain sure becomes enthusiastic, when talking about favorable topics. Nonetheless, his personality sure is double-sided, a momentary change in his emotions without a doubt would spite a rageful scene. I'm surprised no one has seen the ferocious side of him yet.>

<In regards to his appearance, he notably fits in the cardinal category of a normal high school student, at least when he's not displaying his lethal intentions. In addition to that, his raw coat of far-flung tawny hair fits well with his raven absent eyes.>

<Concerning his physique, he sure doesn't lack in those regards. As with just a regular glance you can tell, he doesn't shy away from harsh workouts. As his shoulders are outspread, and his ample muscles show great dedication. Furthermore, his endurance sure is astonishing, as he can easily run a marathon without a single drop of sweat, based on his previous performances in class.>

Kain steps into a spacious room filled with memos, articles, and voices. "Already then! It's about time I tell you the long-awaited tale. The tale of a warrior who is revered by many, the tale of the slayer who is called… "

'The Slayer of West Point.' Kain expresses in a profound fashion.

"It's only acceptable to start from the beginning of this story, where it all started, right around thirteen years ago, during "The Great War." A war that plagued the beautiful country that we reside in, "Hoku." The country of 'Hoku' was a capital filled with talented stars and brilliant minds."

"The prosperous lifestyle of the residents of 'Hoku' was foreseen to be set in everlasting peace. A near-peak human society, which was nearing the pinnacle of human evolution. And with technological advancements, peace was one of the many great commodities present in Hoku."

"But, the curiosity of humans knew no bounds. As a geologist from 'Hoku,' he was exploring an extinct volcano, and was nearing 3000 feet deep."

"Later into his expedition, he stumbled upon an ancient meteorite radiating a scarlet tint. Curious on why the meteors still contained color prior to being in space."

"During his confusion, he ultimately came to an ultimatum, and provided the mysterious object to the government of 'Hoku' for inspection."

"During further inspection on the unknown object, scientists were baffled to discover that the meteorite contained a massive pool of "yex" inside the small context of the meteorite. But further examination was ultimately cut short."

"As a neighboring country called 'Runihura.' heard of this new discovery and the possibility that a meteorite could contain such vast amounts of "yex" quickly excited the officials and higher-ups of the 'Runihura' government.

"And with this, 'Runihura' suddenly attacked 'Hoku.' A swift rally of backlash came from neighboring countries, asking for the sudden reason for the attack on 'Hoku' territory.

"Nonetheless, the country of 'Runihura' paid little attention to the talk, and attacked ceaselessly, day in and out, attacking ports and trade routes that "Hoku" maintained, slowly chipping away the resources needed to retaliate against future attacks."

"Furthermore, 'Runihura' also attacked the camps of soldiers, during unexpected times, leading to the deaths of many warriors of 'Hoku." Over time, the powerful country of 'Hoku' was eventually on the defensive."

"Furthermore, 'Runihura' attacked the camps of soldiers, during unexpected times, leading to the deaths of many warriors of 'Hoku." Over time, the powerful country of 'Hoku' was eventually on the defensive."

"But, a young fifteen-year-old mercenary who was stationed at a refugee camp, protected by 'Hoku' wasn't very pleased with his current situation, and the fearful looks of his peers further annoyed him. Disgusted by the frail acts of his comrades, he yearned for a battle to show his strength."

"In due time the wish of the young mercenary, unfortunately came to forwishen. As the soldiers of 'Runihura' attacked the refugee camp he was stationed at."

"The blood-skinned soldiers rushed relentlessly towards the unsuspected refugees, and without a pause of hesitation chaos reigned rapidly."

"The mercenary who was in solitude during the attacks heard the nightmarish cries from a distance. Concerned for the purpose of such cries, he quickly rushed to the direction of the camp.

"But when he arrived at the camp, his mind became void. As he landed on the mundane ground filled with pools of contaminated blood washed with floods of rain, he subsequently witnessed the slaughter of the people he neglected to protect."

"Dropping down to his knees, the mercenary was filled with self-denigration, as the smiles of the children who pestered him day after day, clouded his mind. The mercenary wished for nothing but the heads of the murderers of his people, but those were nothing but wishes."

"With a sudden burst of pure inequivalent vexation and with firm determination, the young mercenary regained his stance and looked in the direction of countless 'Runihura' soldiers and firmly pointed with murderous intentions and famously thundered…"

"I'LL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU DISGUSTING MONSTERS. I WILL SHOW YOU NO REMORSE."

"THE SCREAMS YOU ECHO AS I CUT YOUR THROATS, WILL BE HEARD BY ALL, AS YOUR CRIES WILL ONLY FUEL MY HATRED."

"The rageful remarks, from the seemingly weak mercenary, were disregarded by the 'Runihura' soldiers, as his roar for retribution was deemed as an aimless endeavor, spoken from a weak soldier, whose words don't correlate with direct actions."

"However, a rival commander heard the cries of vengeance, and found amusement in his declaration for revenge, as the commander humorlessly reverberated."

"VERY CUTE, KID. BUT, COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO COULDN'T SAVE HIS PEOPLE, SPEAKING OF REVENGE IS LAUGHABLE."

"BUT IF YOU DO NOT CROAK ON YOUR OWN TEARS, AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH YOUR SENSELESS IDEALS, I WISH TO SEE YOU TRY AND KILL ME."

"The commander yelled back mindlessly with lone gratification in mind. After hearing the commander's remorseless tone, the young mercenary was purged with indisputable judgment, as his mind slowly planned each and every 'Runihura' soldier's demise.

"Additionally the young mercenaries Battle IQ was second to none, as he began to endlessly plan the steps of his revenge. Along with his inhuman Battle IQ, he easily understood and observed the tactical advantages of his current surroundings and quickly mastered them."

"He also didn't lack strength whatsoever, as the 'Runihura' soldiers were blinded by bias, as they quickly made their judgment on the young mercenary, solely on the basics from his tiny build."

"With reference to his facilities on the battlefield, he could only be dubbed a genius, as in his sect he was unrivaled. With his quick-footed movements and unpredictable maneuvers along with his unrivaled Yex Manipulation, his strength rivaled no other living being in his army sect."

"With former information on the unaesthetic activities that the soldiers of 'Runihura' partook in, the mercenary knew of these such actions that the soldiers are prone to. As information described when boredom strikes, a hunt begins."

"Soldiers of 'Runihura', would purposely keep prisoners of war alive for a span of time, before letting them loose to hold a competition. The competition was a sadistic ploy to inflict a spasm of pain and terror before ultimately killing the prisoners."

"With this information, all the mercenary could do was patiently wait. As time passed the mercenary patiently stayed in towering trees, as repeatable flows of cold breeze washed towards the cloak guarding his vengeful facade."

"In due course, the careless soldiers ultimately gave in to their beastly nature and became jaded with boredom and launched the long-awaited hunt."

"Nonetheless, as the 'Runihura' soldiers, excitedly let the prisoners loose, the fool-hearted mood of the soldiers quickly turned to the opposite."

"As a figure plunges downwards from a tree concealed in the upper reaches of the clouds, and as the coated figure flung down."

"A devastating bang rung out from the skull of the soldier from the brunt of the attack. As the soldier's lifeless body drops, an enigmatic figure digs his feet out from the soldier's unrecognizable face."

"The premature smiles of the 'Runihura' soldiers quickly turned null, as the soldiers sluggishly clamored inclusive orders, involuntarily splitting the 'Runihura' soldiers into a haze of confusion."

"As the discombobulated soldiers noticeably became fearful, as the daylight gloss from the eastern sky started to rapidly dim. And shortly without a momentary delay, darkness swallowed the forest."

"As silence chased into the dead air, a lone pair of footsteps gradually started to give traction. The 'Runihura' soldiers who were seen as the greatest gift to the 'Runihura' empire, with just the absence of sound and sight, became cowering failures."

"And as quickly as silence came, cries of dread followed as quickly, as a trembling soldier mindlessly tossed a flare giving transient light. But where light from the flare should have been given, only darkness could be witnessed."

"As the screams of the soldiers were giving scenery, the sight of a moribund soldier relinquished to the chilly stiff ground. With the complete collapse of the soldier, a shadow of an undersized figure was seen before attacking a nearby soldier."

"Monstrous outcries from the 'Runihura' soldiers, were the only thing that could be perceived repeatedly throughout the ruinous twilight air, as the long-promised sunrise began to finally resurface."

"As the sun shined through the thick leaves, the radiance of the sun, exhibited a ghastly sight, showing a view of innumerable bodies of deceased soldiers. As the horrification of the soldiers who were, maimed, gutted, or mutilated spread vastly throughout the forest.

"But, within the carnage of soldiers, a sole survivor was mixed in between the bunch. The lone spared soldier without a single visible cut or scar was miraculously unhurt. This fortunate survivor was inherently the egotistical commander, who previously belittled the young mercenary so boldly."

"The commander who was blinded by the simple fact that he was still alive, started to laugh hysterically, as the once prideful commander began to break down."

"As the commander continuously wept distraughtly, a shadow lurked above the ill-spirited commander, as a figure gazed down upon him. The gaze of the configured shadow could be easily identified, even without a clear-sighted view, as the watchful gaze was one filled with disgust."

"Blood-soaked from the hood to the lower region, no area on the figure's clothing didn't harbor a rip, as his attire was drenched in claret blush. As the figure crouched downwards towards the commander's stature, he unclosed his hood, and with bruises extending all across the mercenaries face, he unbuckled his knife, the same knife he used to massacre the 'Runihura' soldiers."

"Cruelly and swiftly the mercenary grabs the crown of the commander's head and sternly turns the commander's body to face his own. With the sudden jerk, the commander's eyes regain focus, as realization quickly crosses the commander's mind."

"With spiteful precision, before the commander could utter any diction, the commander's tongue was swiftly sliced cleanly off, as cries of unbearable misery instantly followed."

"As the gut-wrenching screams of the commander circulated for miles, as the undeniable pain of it all, only brought laughter to the mercenary. As the commander repeatedly cried out, the mercenary leaned in towards the beaten-down commander and voiced."

"I always keep my promises, Commander."

"And with those vengeful words, the commander's simplistic life was forfeited. But with the death of the commander, not only straightforward revenge was accomplished. As the cowardly commander had possession of prominent intel on the future attacks on 'Hoku's' bases and facilities."

"Without forthwith, the intel was brought to the attention of the remaining 'Hoku' governmental camps, as they quickly took advantage of the newly discovered intel, and bombarded the unsuspecting, 'Runihura' soldiers before they could begin their siege of raids."

"And in no time the 'Hoku army who was formerly on the defensive retook the offensive, and eventually in no time their victory over the tyrants of 'Runihura transpired. Moreover, the once unknown mercenary, who was disregarded as a weak link, was given full honors from the 'Hoku' government and was gifted the celebrated moniker."

"The Slayer of West Point." Kain merrily proclaims as he finalizes his narrative.

"Kain."

Kain catches Damien's odd tone, and voices. "My apologies, it seems this tale was not to your liking. Shall I tell you another one? Kain replies in a disconcerting tone.

"No, it's not that, but rather the story. It was simply such a heart-wrenching tale, I didn't know how to react after you finished! To be frank, I didn't know what to expect, but it sure was amazing, I'm genuinely happy that I came over today."

Kain sighs with relief, and retorts. "Geez, you almost gave me a heart attack there. Honestly dude, I got a little worried that you would get bored, but I'm super happy you enjoyed it."

"Oh, by the way, wanna hear something even cooler about that story, Kain mentions excitedly."

"Hell yeah, but what's more badass than a fifteen-year-old mercenary, killing countless trained warriors?"

Kain repositions his posture and replies. "Not a what, but a who." Kain mentions in a serious tone.

"Dude, Kain. Stop being so dramatic and tell me already, I'm already on the edge of my seat by the mere mention."

"Alright, I'll spill, the ghost-like mercenary is still alive and kicking."

*DA-DUM-DA-DUM*

Kain makes an obscene drumstick imitation and vocalizes. "The mysterious entity is no other than the infamous..."

"Instructor Yates…" Kain blurts unexpectedly.

"...."

"WHAT THE FUCK?!?"
