43 CEO Level Hand Job

She picked up her arm and observed the bandage job done by a CEO of one of the most affluent companies in the world.

"Knox you don't have to worry, I promise you this was just a mistake."

Rory explained calmly as she put down her arm. However, for some reason, the simple statement made it feel like all the air left the room.

Her eye twitched. What was wrong with this bipolar person now.

"Who said I was worried?" Knox's face had gone pitch black.

Eh?

Sure her statement implied he was worried, but she was talking about the business partnership!

"I wasn't sa-"

"It doesn't matter." For the one millionth time during this conversation, Rory was rudely cut off.

This large Buddha was too much to handle!

Knox meticulously grabbed bleach and a towel to start cleaning the floor where the knife dropped.

By the time he was finished the entire kitchen smelled of disinfectant. Putting everything away, he looked over to see that Rory was still there.

The look in her eyes made it seem like she was observing some kind of exotic animal.

However, as soon as she saw the annoyance on his face she quickly scuttled to get up.

He looked like he was about to argue again and she really wasn't in the mood to deal with it. She should definitely run while he wasn't speaking!

The door to her room closed with a bang leaving behind a conflicted Knox. He looked at the 200,000 dollar knife that was now in the trash.

Was he really worried about that moron?

————————————————-

Inside of her room, Rory sat limply on her grey fluffy queen sized bed. She looked practically dead from exhaustion.

"Sunny." She whispered this quietly to avoid Knox accidentally hearing anything.

The doors in the dorm were very thick, so there wasn't much to worry about. But better safe than sorry.

[Subject is at risk potential 0%. No restrictive actions required.]

[Hello Rory Hynes, Sunny is active. As a reminder to the host, as long as you direct thoughts toward me I can hear them.]

She can direct thoughts toward the machine?

Rory still hated the idea that the machine could control her mind.

She had always viewed herself as an extremely calm person, yet in some circumstances, which she could count on her hands, she could get angry to the point of blindness.

Today would probably be around the fifth time.

'Can you hear me?'

[Sunny can hear the subject.]

Laying in the bed, Rory traced the motherboard mark on her arm.

From recent interactions with the A.I. She had already gathered a bit of information about it.

Number one, she didn't think it could manipulate her thoughts. If it could it would of started right away instead of telling her it was present in her mind. Also, the system creator trying to reason with her made her more confident that it's mind control was strictly physical.

Number two, it probably couldn't control her actions much. The machine could of made her lower the knife, yet it only stopped her nerves. Body control would of been more effective.

Even though cutting her arm was a very extreme way of testing the system. She did gather a fruitful amount of information from it.

'I want to know what the system creator wants to gain from bringing me back to life.'

[The system creator is all knowing. You are blessed that the system creator sees your worth. You are vital to the system creator's plan.]

Rory had a skeptical look on her face. She wanted to test something.

'Who is the system creator?'

[The system creator is all knowing. You are blessed that the system creator sees your worth. You are vital to the system creator's plan.]

So any question dealing with information she can't know about the system creator would result in that response. It was expected as A.Is are still machines, they can't make up stories to tell off the top of their own head.

So they had automatic responses when they don't know what to say.

'Why do you sound like the A.I I created and why are you named the same?'

[This is the robotic voice you are most comfortable with.]

Rory had more questions about that but was too tired to go into more detail.

'Please relay information to your system creator.'

'Tell them that I am willing to find common ground as long as my head is never messed with again. If your A.I tinkers with my mind. I will cut off my arm, if you paralyze me, I'll become useless.'

Sunny went quiet for a moment before it responded.

[The system creator agrees with your terms.]

Good. Rory thought to herself.

While she didn't trust anything about the current band on her wrist, she at least was, at face value, given terms she could agree with.

From here on she'll just play day by day.

In her bed, Rory rolled over pulling her covers over her body and closing her eyes.

[Since greetings are finished the system will now start tasking you missions. Missions all have a timeframe. 1st failure will result in a charge of 80 volts.]

Just as her eyes closed they flashed opened. Missions?

A thin smile appeared on her cherry red lips.

She didn't even know if this body could take that many volts, but if the band had that ability she couldn't imagine what would of happened if she rejected it fully.

In fact, after interacting with the band she was starting to have a feeling that even without the band the person could send her to the grave in a second.

More than likely the only reason she didn't wake up with the band already attached to her was because the system creator wanted to make her feel inferior.

They were trying to build a image of a technology god.

Rory closed her eyes again. If they were really going to be able to build that image in her, who knows?

At this point, she wasn't even going to try to think ahead. She had so many enemies piling up and so little power it was becoming ridiculous.

Who knew when the imbalance will finally cause the scale to tip too far.
