Return Back to One's Family

In the streets of the urban area of the Southern Water Tribe there was a man walking down the streets. He was able to get to the Water Tribe through his own Sky-bison. He wore white-hooded robes that had red samurai plating on his arms and red gauntlets with a katana that was sheathed on his left hip. On the left gauntlet, on the underside of his forearm, there is a sheath that contained a wristblade that wasn't noticeable to people. He had black hair, short sides and a messy top and green eyes which could make any girl swoon over him.

He was walking down the streets of the Southern Water tribe. He had just arrived not too long ago and he didn't have his hood on as he wasn't intending to do anything heinous.

As he kept walking down the streets, he waved to some of the people who knew who he was and winked at some of the pretty girls that were whispering about him, probably about how handsome he looked, though he was a 19 year-old man.

He kept walking until he stopped at a compound that had a white lotus on it. The White Lotus, was an ancient and formerly secret society that transcends the boundaries of the four nations, seeking philosophy, beauty, and truth. They are devoted to sharing ancient knowledge across national and political divides. The organization has at times assumed the task of finding, training, and protecting the next Avatar, having done so following the death of Avatar Kuruk and later at the request of Avatar Aang.

The guards who were guarding the door saw the towering man who was in the white robes and bowed to him.

"Master Kang," one said.

"Please," the robed man now known as Kang said, "it's just Kang."

Soon the grandmasters of the White Lotus came out of the door and saw Kang. Their faces were not happy to see him.

"What are you doing here?!" The Waterbending Master asked.

"What?" Kang said with a smirk, "am I not allowed to see my own family?"

"You have been forbidden to ever come to this sacred place due to your allegiance with the United Forces," the Master said.

"That was two years ago," Kang said, "I'm no longer in the military."

"Regardless," the master said, "you have disgraced your parents and—"

"He chose his own path to which he thought was right," an older woman said. The said woman had grey hair which was worn in a bun and had a necklace on her neck. Katara, the wife of Aang and the other Waterbending Master of the White Lotus smiled at Kang as he smiled at her back.

"I'll keep an eye on Kang," the older woman said.

"But Master Katara—"

"Don't worry," Katara said, "he knows not to challenge me."

The other White Lotus members reluctantly agreed as they walked away and let Kang in. When Kang and Katara were alone, she put a hand on Kang's shoulder.

"You've gotten taller since the last time I saw you," Katara said.

Kang chuckled as he gave the old woman a hug, "I've missed you so much Grandma."

"I've missed you too Kang," Katara said.

———

In Katara's home, Kang and Katara were eating food and talking. Mainly talking about his adventures with the United Forces during his two years there. Katara was amazed at the fact he traveled around the whole world.

"Have you talked to your parents yet?" Katara asked, changing the subject.

Kang drank the last few things of his spicy tiger-seal noodle soup and then he looked down at the table with a hint of conflict.

"I don't think I can talk to them," Kang said, "I don't think I'm ready."

"No one's ever ready to talk about what they did to their parents," Katara said, "it's a part of growing up. You ran away because you had your own reasons. Now you're older and have learned a lot, it shouldn't be hard to make up with your parents."

"Father may be easy, but Mother..." Kang said with a sigh, "Mother has a knack for holding onto the negatives in the past."

"But she doesn't think that having you isn't a negative," Katara said with a smile.

Kang just sighed again, doubting what Katara had said. Katara noticed the look on her grandson's face as she gave him a reassuring smile.

"I've seen that look before with you the last time you've visited," Katara said, "you're doubting what I said aren't you?"

Kang knew he couldn't lie as he just nodded.

"It's okay," Katara said, "but I can reassure you that when a Mother has a child, it can change her for the better, trust me."

Kang looked at his grandma and simply nodded. Katara started to get up and take both of their bowls as she started to wash them, but Kang intervened and did them himself.

"Grandma, is it okay if I can stay here for a bit?" Kang asked, "I'll do chores in exchange for staying."

"Of course," Katara said, "stay as long as you need."

...

Kang was in his pajamas as he took out a journal which contained a photo which was a little over two years old. It was a picture of him and a beautiful girl in formal attire. The said girl whom he had his arm around had black hair, green eyes, purple eyeshadow, and lips covered with red lipstick. He brushed his fingers over the girl's face as he simply put it on the nightstand and went to sleep, thinking when he would see the said girl again.

———

The next morning had arrived and Kang had started doing some chores for Katara. He was doing some laundry for her until she came over to him. He was wearing a parka and some fleece pants to fit the cold temperatures of the South Pole.

"Hey Grandma," Kang said, "what do you need?"

"Kang," Katara said, "come with me, there is someone I want you to meet."

Kang finished the clothes hanging and followed her until they entered a house in the Southern Water Tribe. In there showed a slightly taller man who was more built than Kang. For the first time Kang started to gulp as he just didn't wear his robes and had no weapons.

"Kang, this is the Chief of the Southern Water Tribe," Katara said, "Chief Tonraq, this is Kang my oldest grandson."

Kang bowed towards Chief Tonraq.

"It's an honor to meet you, Chief Tonraq," Kang said.

"The honor is mine, young man," Tonraq said, while bowing back, "and please, it's just Tonraq."

"Okay then, Tonraq," Kang said.

Kang noticed Tonraq's observant look on him and then he said, "You look just like your Father."

"You've met my Father?" Kang asked.

"Of course," Tonraq said, "he would and has always told my daughter stories about you and your rebellious behavior, but you stayed with your Mother during the times he came here, last time I heard about you from him was a week ago when you were in the United Forces."

"I resigned not too long ago," Kang said, "and by the way, who is your daughter?"

Before Tonraq could speak, Katara intervened.

"You'll see her," Katara said, "she actually has something going on and I'm going to watch her, would you like to come with me?"

"Of course, Grandma," Kang said, before bowing to Tonraq, "it was nice to meet you Chief."

"Likewise, kid," Tonraq said.

As Kang and Katara left, Tonraq couldn't help but smile at the scene.

'Tenzin, your kid grew up to be a fine young man,' Tonraq thought.

———

Kang and Katara were walking towards the White Lotus compound as they were seeing a teenage girl who looked a year or two longer than her warming up. She had a red training outfit and wore her hair in a ponytail.

"That's Tonraq's daughter," Katara said, "her name is Korra."

Kang nodded in understanding as he observed the teenage girl who was warming up. One of the White Lotus Members, the one who gave Kang a hard time yesterday, was glaring at him.

"Kang, I hope you won't distract Korra's training!" the Waterbending Master said.

"Leave him alone," Katara said, "he keeps to himself and if I left him alone, he would just stir up trouble."

The other White Lotus members reluctantly nodded and decided to let Kang stay and watch.

Three opponents Korra was fighting seemed to be people from the Fire Nation. As the battle started, one Firebender shot a flamethrower that Korra dissipated and she came up with a fire attack of her own by doing a double fire kick and that's when Kang realized that this girl was the Avatar.

As the first attack fell back, Korra shifted her attention to the other two as they shot a ball of fire towards her that she dissipated as well. It didn't take long for her to take down to defeat the other two Firebenders as she cheered in happiness.

"She's strong," Katara said.

Kang nodded in agreement, "She's quite impressive."

"She lacks restraint!" the Waterbending White Lotus said.

She came up to the other White Lotus members as she said, "Why all the doom and gloom people we should be celebrating. Three elements down, one to go."

"Now that's impressive," Kang commented.

Korra looked towards Kang and was confused as to who he was.

"Sorry, I'm—"

"Kang!" Korra said in realization.

Kang was surprised as Korra knew who he was, "How do you know?"

"You're Dad would always talk a lot about you," Korra said, "and I've always wanted to meet you."

"Thanks, likewise," Kang said, realizing in regards to what Tonraq said not too long ago.

"Can we get back on topic, please?" the Firebending White Lotus Member asked.

The two teens stopped talking as the member said, "As I was wanting to say, you're getting ahead of yourself as usual, Korra. We haven't decided if you passed your Firebending test yet."

"Ever since you were a little girl, you've excelled at the physical side of bending, but completely ignored the spiritual side," the Waterbending White Lotus Member said, "The Avatar must master both."

"I haven't ignored it," Korra said, "It just doesn't come as easy to me. But that's why I should start training with Tenzin immediately. He's Mr. Spiritual."

Kang covered his mouth with his arm as he started to snicker at the 'Mr. Spiritual.'

The others looked at Kang as he quickly composed himself and apologized for his snicker.

"Do you believe she's ready, Master Katara?"

"Yes," Katara said, "If anyone can teach her what she needs to learn, it's Tenzin."

"Very well, Korra," the White Lotus member said, "It's time for you to begin your Airbending training."

As Korra cheered, Kang noticed the annoyed looks of the White Lotus masters. He saw Korra stop to see their reactions and faced the other way to restrain himself from laughing. She soon corrected herself as she bowed and started to walk away.

...

Kang was washing the dishes and Katara noticed the photo of himself with the said girl from earlier whom Katara considered his girlfriend.

"How's that girl doing," Katara asked.

"Last time she wrote back to me, she was doing just fine," Kang said, "and that was six months ago."

"Are you two still a—"

"No. We broke up," Kang said, "after being away from her for so long, we just decided that it would be just better if we just stayed as friends."

"You've known this girl for years and dated her for three years, before your enlistment to the United Forces," Katara said.

"I know," Kang said, "but we've been apart for two years, I guess the love we used to have for each other is no longer."

Katara gave Kang a sad smile as she patted her grandson on the back.

———

Days had passed as Kang was getting comfortable in Katara's home, he's been staying put and mainly helping out with the daily chores that were needed as his grandmother was an old lady. He was inside the stables where he was tending to his sky bison by feeding it grass.

"You have a sky bison?!"

Kang looked to see Korra was at the entrance of the stables.

"Well hello to you as well..." Kang said with 'annoyance.'

"O-Oh I'm really sorry—"

"Hehe, don't worry," Kang said, "I was just messing with you. But uh yeah, he's mine," Kang said, "I rescued this big guy when he was a calf from a bunch of bison poachers near the Northern Air Temple when I was stationed there. His name is Kujo."

"Kujo," Korra said as she started to pet the bison. It soon nuzzled up to Korra as she started to hug the bison. Kang couldn't help but smile as he saw his companion interacting with Grandpa Aang's successor.

Kang soon heard another familiar sky bison roar and saw one approaching the gate. Korra started to walk out, but noticed Kang was staying behind.

"Aren't you coming along?" Korra asked.

"I-I'll catch up," Kang said.

Korra shrugged as she left the stables and went out to see who it was.

———

Tenzin was back home at the Southern Water Tribe as he was visiting his mother. Meelo was on his shoulder as the young boy was pulling on his ear. His two daughters, Jinora and Ikki were using air scooters to ride down Oogi's tail onto the snow and played around.

As the two girls were playing around they accidentally bumped into someone and didn't know who it was until they looked up to the towering man. Jinora and Ikki's eyes widened and their smiles were from ear to ear as they saw Kang who gave them an awkward smile.

"Hey girls, it's been a while," Kang said.

"Kang!"

The two girls hugged their older brother by jumping on him. Kang fell onto his back, he couldn't help but laugh as he hugged his sisters.

"My goodness you girls got big," Kang said, "I've missed you guys."

"We've missed you too," Jinora said as she hugged Kang tighter, "it's been two years."

"I know," Kang said, "but I'm here now, right?"

The girl nodded as they hadn't gotten off of Kang yet. Kang managed to get up while having each sister on his arm and walked out towards Oogi. As Kang was walking towards the sky bison Kang saw his father whom he hasn't seen in two years, he seemed okay after leaving home. But Kang knew that his job wasn't easy. When Tenzin looked towards Jinora and Ikki, his eyes widened as he saw his oldest son walking towards him.

"Kang..." Tenzin said with surprise.

Kang gave his father a small smile, "Hello, Father."

Kang put his sisters down as they saw Tenzin approaching Kang. Tenzin saw that Kang was now slightly taller than him as he put his hands on his shoulders.

"You've gotten taller since the last time I saw you," Tenzin said.

"You seem like you're doing okay yourself," Kang said.

"When did you come to your grandmother's?" Tenzin asked.

"A few days ago," Kang said, "I quit the Unite Forces and have decided to stay here for a bit and in exchange, I have to help out Grandma."

"That's good," Tenzin said while patting his son, "that's really good."

"Have you met Korra?" Tenzin asked.

Kang nodded as he moved out of the way for Tenzin to see Korra as Kang went to a very pregnant Pema and Meelo.

"Hello Pema," Kang said, "it's been a while."

"Indeed it has," Pema said with a kind smile. She later felt a tug and saw Meelo being a bit shy which was weird as he was very extroverted.

"Meelo, that's your older brother," Pema said.

Meelo peeked out to see Kang and walked around him as he was observing him. He used Airbending to jump onto Kang's shoulder as he looked down at Kang's green eyes.

"Are you really my brother?" Meelo asked.

"I don't know, you tell me sir," Kang said with a smirk.

———

After playing with his younger siblings for hours, they had to go to Pema so she could tuck them in for bed as he was in the compound with Korra, Tenzin, and the White Lotus Waterbending Master. He was caught up to speed and was informed that Tenzin can't stay to train Korra in Airbending.

"How long until you're ready to teach me Airbending?" Korra asked, "A week? A month?"

"It could be much longer," Tenzin said.

Kang's eyes widened at what his father had for an answer for the longevity for delaying Korra's Airbending training.

"I don't understand why are you making me wait?" Korra asked.

"I have a responsibility to Republic City," Tenzin explained, "I'm one of its leaders, and the situation there is very unstable right now."

"But you also have a responsibility to teach me," Korra said, "Believe me, I'd be happy to find another Airbending Master, but you're the only one. We're stuck with each other."

"I wish there were another way," Tenzin said apologetically.

"Well there could be another way," Kang said. Korra looked at Kang and knew what he was insinuating.

"Oh right," Korra said, "If you can't stay here, then I'll go back to Republic City with you. It's perfect."

"Absolutely not!" The White Lotus member said in anger, "The city is far too dangerous! Avatar Aang tasked us with keeping you safe while you mastered the four elements."

"If I can add my sense on this," Kang said, "I understand where you are coming from in regards to the safety of Korra, but based on what I've seen here, keeping her locked away from society isn't going to help her either and I bet it isn't what my Grandfather didn't have in his head while thinking for his successor."

"Exactly," Korra said.

"I know this is difficult to accept," Tenzin said, "but it's not the right time for you to come to the city."

Korra stormed off in anger leaving the White Lotus member, Tenzin, and Kang alone.

"I'll leave you two alone as I think you two have much to discuss," the White Lotus member left the dining hall to leave the father and son alone.

After a long silence, Kang took a deep breath and spoke up.

"I want to talk to you," Kang said, "about the reason why I left. It wasn't on great terms to be honest. As a kid I did a lot of rebellious things so you and Mother could notice me. And as a last ditch effort, I joined the Military, and as I did, I realised that some part of me was still a bit lost. Trying to find closure for not being an Airbender like you wanted or an Earthbender. And as I did, I found this part of me where I realised that it wasn't your fault for what happened years ago. You and Mother had your responsibilities and I never really understood that until I enlisted in the United Forces. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I forgive you."

Tenzin was in shock as he heard his son talk his heart out. Kang stood up as he was about to get out of the hall but he heard his father call for him.

"Whenever you're ready, you're more than welcome to come back home," Tenzin said.

Kang smiled as he nodded and started to walk out.

———

It was morning and Kang was hugging his younger siblings.

"Are you going to come back home?" Jinora asked, with tears in her eyes.

Kang smiled and wiped the tear off of her face, "Not yet, I have to do some stuff here before I can come back. But I'll be back, I promise."

The three hugged Kang one last time as they went up to the sky bison and waved goodbye.

"Oogi, yip-yip!"

As Tenzin's sky bison was flying away, Korra was watching in sadness, wishing she was able to go with Tenzin to Republic City.

...

It was night time as Korra was running into Naga's pen. She was about to put on the saddle until—

"Nice night for an escape isn't it?"

Korra looked back to see Katara at the threshold of the pen.

"I have to leave," Korra said, "I have to find my own path as the Avatar."

Katara gave Korra a knowing smile, " I know you do."

Korra smiled with appreciation as Katara kept talking, "Aang's time has passed. My brother and many of my friends are gone. It's time for you and your generation to take on the responsibility of keeping peace and balance in the world. And I think you're going to be a great Avatar."

The two went in for a hug as Korra thanked Katara for her words of encouragement.

...

Kang was on top of a White Lotus sentry tower as he looked to see a cargo ship that was going to Republic City, it was the same ship that Korra and Naga got into to get to the city.

"I figured you'd be up there," an elderly voice said.

Kang looked down to see his grandmother looking up at Kang. He dropped from the top of the roof, all the way to the ground.

"I'm surprised that she managed to escape without alerting the sentries," Kang said.

He put his hands in his pockets as he was making way to the house to get some shut eye.

"You should go as well, Kang," Katara said.

Kang looked at his grandmother as if she was out of her mind.

"Grandma," Kang started to say, "you can't be serious."

"Korra is going to a city that is completely different from this place," Katara said, "she will need help to navigate not only around the city, but with people around her age, she is still a teenager after all."

"But what about you?"

"I'll be fine," Katara said, "you just need to watch over her. Take care of her as if you're taking care of a sister."

"A stubborn, impulsive, hot-headed sister?" Kang asked.

Katara nodded which led to Kang heaving a massive sigh, "Guess it can't be helped."

...

Kang had all his belongings packed on his sky bison's saddle as he gave his grandma a huge hug.

"I'll miss you Grandma," Kang said.

"I'll miss you too," Katara said.

Kang nodded as he climbed up the bison and whipped the reins which led it to fly. Katara soon walked into her home and started to look at a photo that was almost 19 years old. It showed a toddler Kang who was sitting on Grandpa Aang's lap with Grandmas Katara and Toph standing on both sides.

———

Kang woke up as the shining light was in his eyes. They were in the downtown area of Republic City as Kang was able to see the Air Temple Island. He was tempted to go back to see his younger siblings, but first things first was that he needed to find Korra. He had Kujo, his sky bison, stay stationary as he was trying to find where Korra was. So far what he managed to find was a traffic accident within the financial district of the City which made Kang curious. He put on a white oni mask and put up his hood as he had Kujo land on a rooftop.

"Fly off and stay hidden," Kang instructed. Kujo roared silently as he started to fly off and stayed hidden and under the radar as best as possible.

Kang saw the traffic accident and decided to investigate so he climbed down and reached ground level within seconds.

As he was at street-level he asked a male citizen what happened.

"There was this girl who had a polar bear dog and was blocking traffic and almost ran us over," he said.

"Do you know where this girl went?" Kang asked.

The male citizen pointed to where there was a food vendor and Kang waved a thank you as he went to the food vendor.

"Excuse me," Kang said to the food vendor. The said person had an annoyed look on her face as he asked, "Have you seen a girl with a polar bear dog?"

"They went off to the park," the woman said.

"Thank you so much," Kang said, "take care."

...

Kang was walking down the park as he was trying to search for Korra. This park he hasn't been to for years, he remembered when he and his girlfriend at the time would always hang out at this park to hangout.

But all thoughts were pushed aside as he caught the scent of something burnt. So he walked to where the scent was originally from and saw Korra cooking up some fish with a homeless man who took one and was eating it.

Kang cleared his throat as Korra looked behind her and saw Kang's towering figure. She noticed that he wore an oni mask and had his hood on. She also saw the sheathed katana on his left hip as if he was ready to fight. She got into a fighting stance, but Kang took off his mask and hood quickly to show his face.

"Kang?"

"Who else would it be?" Kang said.

"What are you doing here," Korra asked.

"My Grandma had me come to the city to make sure you didn't do anything stupid," Kang said, "and it's pretty clear I was too late to stop you."

Before Korra could say anything, a whistle was blown, they looked back to see a patrolman shouting for them.

"You can't fish here!"

Korra whistled for Naga and jumped on with Kang running behind, she was surprised that he was able to keep up with them.

After getting away from the patrol, they heard an obnoxious microphone feedback before someone who held it said, "Are you tired of living under the tyranny of benders? Then join the Equalists."

Kang and Korra saw a rally that had a few people listening to a man who had a poster of a dark hooded figure with a white mask standing behind the PA person.

"For too long, the bending elite of this city have forced non-benders to live as lower-class citizens," the rally person said, "Join Amon, and together we will tear down the bending establishment."

Korra had enough and decided to interject.

"What are you talking about?" Korra asked, "bending is the coolest thing in the world."

Kang lowered his head and shook it before massaging the temples with his thumb and finger.

'I wish I was not affiliated with her...' Kang thought.

"Oh, yeah?" the rally man questioned her, "Let me guess. You're a bender."

'Please don't answer—'

"Yeah, I am," Korra stated proudly.

'Dammit,' Kang thought as Korra dug herself in a deeper hole.

"And I bet you'd just love to knock me off this platform with some Waterbending, huh?" the rally person asked.

Before Korra got off of Naga and before she could do anything, Kang covered her mouth and restrained her.

"Stop what you're doing," Kang said, "you're going to prove the right."

Korra calmed down and as Kang let go of her, she got on Naga and the two started to walk with Kang following.

"Sorry about her," Kang said, "we'll be going."

"Good," the rally man/Amon supporter said, "A non-bender who knows how to keep a bender like her in check."

Kang glared at the man and put his left hand on the sheath near the collar and pushed the tsuba enough to hear the katana pop out of the sheath. The Equalist supporter gulped and apologized as Kang put his katana back into his sheath and started to follow Korra.

As they were walking down the City Korra looked at Kang.

"Is this the right way?"

"Yeah, just keep going down the street and then to the dock," Kang said, "I'll meet you back at the Island later."

"Where are you going?" Korra asked.

"I have some business to attend to," Kang said as he walked another way to the high-class area of the city.

...

Kang kept walking until he reached the front porch. He took a deep breath as his hood and mask were no longer on his head and his face and eyes were there for people to see.

He rang the doorbell and shortly after, an older man came out. He had black and greying hair and had a handlebar moustache. He wore elegant clothing and his mouth opened wide with shock as he saw Kang.

"Hey Hiroshi," Kang said with a smile, "it's been a while."

"Dad, who is it?" a female voice was asking the question. The said girl was the same girl from the photo years ago, only now she is a woman. She gasped as she saw Kang who gave an awkward smile that was similar to his grandfather's and waved.

"Hey there Asami, it's been a while," Kang said.

She walked up and touched his cheek as if she thought her mind was playing with her and as she realized it really was Kang, she tackled him into a hug. Kang smiled as he hugged her back and just held her.

"I've missed you so much," Asami said.

"Me too," Kang said, "you look great."

"I can say the same for you," Asami said. Before they could say any more a sky bison was landing behind them. Oogi was with Tenzin as he jumped onto the ground.

"Kang, with me now," Tenzin said.

"O-Okay," Kang said, "I'll see you guys around."

Kang climbed on the saddle on Oogi's back and they went to the Police station.

"What happened?" Kang asked.

"Korra got arrested," Tenzin said with annoyance.

"Wait, how did you know I was here?" Kang asked.

"Jinora found Kujo sleeping in the caves," Tenzin said, "come on, let's get Korra."

...

Kang and Tenzin arrived at the Police station where they walked into the office and asked the Captain, Saikhan, where Korra was and they followed him.

Kang only came here once in a while when Tenzin had dropped him off to go to his mothers. But after school, Kang would always stay at Asami's place until his Mother was able to pick him up.

As they approached the interrogation room, a slit was open as Saikhan said that Tenzin and Kang were here. Lin Beifong, the chief of police and the Mother of Kang was staring at them as Korra spoke.

"Tenzin I'm sorry, I got a little sidetracked on my way to the island," Korra said.

"Kang," Lin said.

"Hello, Mother," Kang said.

"Lin, you're looking radiant as usual," Tenzin said.

Kang looked away in disappointment as he witnessed his Father trying to flatter his Mother.

"Cut the garbage, Tenzin," Lin said, "why is the Avatar here in Republic City?! I thought you were supposed to move down to the South Pole to train her."

"My relocation has been delayed," Tenzin said, "the Avatar on the other hand will be heading down to the South Pole immediately, where she will stay put."

"But—"

"If you would be so kind as to drop the charges against Korra," Tenzin said, "I will take full responsibility for today's regrettable events and I will cover all the damages."

Lin sighed as she waved her hand to uncuff Korra.

"Fine, just get her out of my city!" Lin said.

"Always a pleasure Lin," Tenzin said, "let's go Korra."

"Mother," Kang said as the three left the station to the evidence locker to pick up Naga.

...

Throughout the squabble between Korra and Tenzin, Kang was silent as he was just reading his book titled, "Make-Out Innocence." It was the third book from the Make-Out series as there are now four books due to the fact the fourth one had just been released not too long ago.

He followed them to the docks as they sailed down to the Yue bay. Kang looked to see Korra looking out sadly as she knew she had to go back to the South Pole. Kang closed his book as he walked towards his Father.

"Are you sure this is a good idea to send her back," Kang asked.

"It's the only option," Tenzin said.

"Is it though," Kang asked, "Korra's Airbending training has been delayed and it will continue if you absolve yourself with this responsibility due to your duties for this city."

Tenzin listened to his son as they arrived at the Island. Kang went inside to make sure nothing was in the boat and exited the ship to see his three younger siblings hug Korra.

"Are you going to stay with us?" Ikki asked.

"Sorry, I have to go home," Korra said, "but I brought someone who is."

The three kids looked behind Korra and saw Kang who went down on one knee as he held his arms out for his younger brother and sisters to come hug him and they ran as if there was no tomorrow.

As Korra was watching the four children of Tenzin hugging each other, the said man walked up to Korra.

"Korra, Tenzin said, "I have tried my best to guide Republic City to the dream my father had for it. But you're right, it has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to preserve his legacy. But you are his legacy. You may stay and train here in Airbending with me. Republic City needs its Avatar once again."

Korra cheered with happiness as Kang looked with his arms crossed and a smirk hanging on his face. He soon chuckled as he saw her hugging Tenzin and the kids and soon started to walk away, but he soon stopped to look at the statue of Grandpa Aang and then back towards Korra and then walked away.

'Not bad, kid.'

A/N: Thanks for reading! This is based a bit of of Assassin's Creed and you'll find out in a bit. Kang's assassin robes are based of of Hanzo Hattori from Assassin's Creed: Memories. Also the voice actor for this role I would like is Simu Liu as I have watched Shang Chi like five times and enjoyed it.
