Nova Part 2

Enlighten, not able to tear her eyes apart from mines, lust lingers in them as Nako takes both her hands on my chest, sliding them to the collar of my neck. - Something clicks, taking my attention in a sneaking way. I tug on the object, looking down at a device, something high tech. A neck bracelet, flashing a line of red light in the middle of it, repeating in a circle in blinking speed.

"What is this?" I look back to Nako, presenting the device, I'm sure that she snuck onto me.

"A bomb." She answers plainly, resting her hand on my chest again. "All of us members of Nova have it... It's to be sure us rebels abide by their rules."

When staring at her, I note the neck bracelet that suddenly appears wrap around her neck, as well.

"Cute right?" Nako points it out, pulling at her neck bracelet. "It can also blend into your taste, for you won't get any weird stares from strangers..."

"....Ain't that just useful..." I mutter mainly to myself, looking into her light emerald eyes, despite being Juna. "I'm sorry, but I can't keep this up, you look nothing like her..."

Nako's face went from an upbeat look to a more stone-cold expression upon hearing my comment. She then removes her hand from my chest, standing up in front of me.

"What? ruined the mood?" I ask, slightly nudging my head to the side.

"No, it's just-" She shapes back into the black-haired girl. "Never mind....." Nako face back towards me, tapping on her lip. "Speaking of that girl... Juna, she's the reason why we recruit you in the first place. We have the same interest."

"And when you say we; you mean you or Nova?"

I keep my eyes on Nako as she sits on the bed across from me, crossing leg over leg resting her chin on her hands.

"You can say, a little of both." She then straightens up. "The thing is, Nova has a trail you must go through, with me as your detonator..."

"Detonator?" I couldn't be more puzzled.

"Yeah, like an owner to its pet." She notes. "I'm the one to blow you to pieces if any of this goes wrong, the mission that is."

"Hmf... That's convenient. What mission are we talking?"

I couldn't help but laugh at it all, even though my very life was on the edge. Well, that is to say, I laugh at the fact knowing I no longer had the choice to cry about it. She already placed the bomb around my neck. This metal bracelet of hers...

"The retrieval kind." She taps a button on the side of her neck bracelet, pulling up a hologram of information. "Going off the info taking by my observation, a cult like group who serves under a, what I have to assume, a man name Father, goes by the name Sigma Flames."

Speaking about the sigma flames, she pulls several images of the past people I have met in the group, along new faces.

"If you couldn't guess by now, the name resembles the Greek letter S, Sigma. Flames must represent-

"My older brother... Zel..." I speak in a down voice, adding that to the list of my disorientated life.

"Right, or it could mean a number of things. Will, passion, values, determination and hope. Which all been displayed by a number of them... Don't you agree?"

"Yeah, but," She seems to know way too much for just observing news articles. Half of this information wasn't even release to the public. "How do you know all of this?"

Nako immediately turns off the hologram, giving me a shallow smile, holding a sort of ugly vibe to it.

"I stalked you, of course."

There she goes being oddly blunt again. This time with something that shouldn't be taking so lightly.

"Stalking? For how long?" I lean forward in the chair looking dead into her eyes.

"Hmm... For a while now. Maybe since your first year of high school, or maybe earlier than that. Ethier way, I know enough in order to save both Juna and my little sister."

Her little sister? - Though I didn't won't to ignore the topic of her watching me, I couldn't help but think back my thoughts on her at Uncle keysei's coffee shop.

"Your sister..." I click through the images of my phone, shoving it into her face. "Is she, Meniko Hatsumi?"

Nako twist and turns her head, holding a sly grin, eyeing the picture than me. "Yep, it's definitely her... I tend to forget how close that girl was to you, seeing that you tried your best to avoid her daily. I'm guessing you had a good glimpse of my true face as well..."

So, I was correct. This girl and Meniko are related. Meniko... Now that I think on it, I never once bother to ask about her. She was also kidnap by my brother, along with Vile. It seems like I always consider Juna to be more important than everything and anyone... Thinking on that fact, you realize how disgusting I am. - I picture the girl who would always cling to us, bring bright days to our clouded evening. Meniko, she was a ray of sunshine, despite me always pushing her away. - I really am the lowest of the low. Not a hero mentality at all...

"Hey, if you are feeling guilty about not thinking about lil sis now, you're a little too late. Your main focus should be that girlfriend of yours. Leave Meniko to her actual ken, K?"

Nako could see right through how I felt. It was kind of spooky yet reassuring that I had an ally that understood what I was going through.

"So, back to this Nova thing..." I backtrack to that calm persona of mines, marking Meniko as another past mistake. "Is it some type of group of mercenaries that get paid for doing missions or something?" I shoot.

"Not exactly." Nako follows along to put the conversation back on track of the main reason we are here. "The Government had a few rebelling hero's and thought of a way to keep them on track. The most rewards we get from these jobs are food, clothing, baths and a nice comfy room, that is if you like thin sheets and a one-layer bed you'll see in an asylum. And hey, if you are lucky, they give you free time. A day outside the cooperation."

When she says rebelling Hero's, she means Vigilantes. And when she mentions "keep them on track" she means these bombs on our neck that can kill us at any time, by our detonators.

Looking at her neck bracelet, I couldn't help but share my thoughts on it. "Who exactly is your Detonator?"

"That's... Sort of privet question on my end. I rather not tell you at this time. It's better that you don't meet them in fact. The person who holds my detonator is this huge fat scary lady. Size of an ogre and brute like one as well. She's a disgusting little prick-

"Okay, okay, I get it. You don't like her. But what about you, why didn't your sister ever mention you? Why are you in such a group instead-

"Hey," She continues to smile on despite the menacing aura she gave. "Didn't I mention questions like that is too personal? I feel like we should focus back on the main topic at hand. Nova can be saved for a later date, if you live through this mission. K?"
