Death of An Monster

What's that sound... A hum. A passing breeze, a beating heart over my fist, blood gushing between my fingers. His eyes gape at me, rage in the lust to kill, this man's little brother. Ella's paint a wide mouth revolt, unwavering her stance. "What have he done", I can hear her thoughts clearly...

-"Eh... Ha, I..." Tau fingers latch around my fist, dispersing the shadows I formed around it. His eyes aim to the moon above, falling into a daze. A mutter. "...Ambition really is cruel..."

His body pulls my fist out of him, plopping to the ground, spit up blood, coughed, coloring the grass red.

-Gamma monstrous form shifts back to his normal self, a kid in dismay, stepping further away from me, afraid, wondering how his brother could be laying on top the grass.

"Tau..." His face dose the only thing he seem to know, smile, whining at it all at the same time, thinking what he witnesses isn't true. "He can't die... He can't die!"

-In tears, he bears a large grin, shaping half his body into his monstrous form aimed for my head. -His claw stops at the tip of my nose, catching the twitch of Tau's finger, vividly, for the rest of us to see.

He redirects his hit towards the ground, mud splashing upward, with it clutched between his gorilla sized hands, Gamma holds on to Tau, leaving humongous footprints in the patch of grass. No trace of them...

Taking a footstep back, exhausted, I fall to my knees. -My hands are covered in blood. ---Tau... I killed him... I killed a man... Just like that man a few months ago, but Tau, he didn't get back up. He's dead, I killed him.

I killed him "It's over..." I'm over.

-Ella push me out of thought, shoving me by my shoulder, snapping me back to where I stand. I lift my head to her, she says nothing. Nothing could be said. At the end of the day, despite me winning the fight, I lost everything I fought for.

No one won...

Light shines down on us both, my head is pulled, under Ella's chin. She shields me in her arms. Choppers above our heads, sirens closing in, I knew this would be the very last time I ever get to cry to her.

October 21, 2046; Yellowstone Hospital:

When I came to, an empty white ceiling, cut in squares, a bumpy texture gape back it me. I'm quickly reminded of the night, events flashing by like scenes in a movie. The smell of alcohol wipes and rubber gloves, I'm all too familiar, immediately I can tell where I am.

-Covers flap of my bandage chest, needle in my wrist, including the beeping next to a bag of blood. Ella, she sleeps across from me in a peach-colored sofa, her hand resting on her face, lost in the fight to stay awake. -The window beside me, the sun dimly lights the room. The break of dawn. Small hand on five, large in between seven and eight on the clock.

Last night... -I tighten my hand into a fist, recalling my sore throat panting, tired, angry. I didn't want to lose her, so I...

Ella pulls out of her sleep, using that hand she slept on to wipe her eyes, she then notices I'm up with her, hair in the crack of her lips.

"Zen, you're up..." She wipes out the last crust between them, opening her eyes to me, still a bit drowsy.

"Yep..." I can't seem to look away from the sky. I can't face her, knowing what I did.

"...Don't, beat yourself up about it. He's probably... He's probably still alive." She says that, not knowing the answer herself. She tries to convince me no mistake was made.

His heart was gouged out, popped by the force of my fist going through him. The only thing that can survive something like that, is a being that isn't human... Whatever, who cares what she thinks. It's a matter of time until handcuffs are put over my wrist and I'm thrown into a containment breach.

-The devil hearing his name called, the door slides open, two men in front and two others behind them, wearing officer uniforms stepping into the room.

The man on the left, wearing a brown brief coat, slides out a leather wallet, revealing an ID card, a badge imprinted on the thing, shoving it in my face.

"Let's cut the introduction short, I am detective Wayne Tailon, here on my right is my assistant, Lee. Lee, show the young man your badge as well." He taps the back of the man he calls Lee, pushing him a bit further up.

He takes a step closer to me, giving out his hand, ignoring Ella who jumps up off the sofa. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lee Faimon, and we're here for the Hero Investigation Unit, the H.I.U. I'm sure you heard of us a few times. There're a few questions I'll like to ask."

Yellowstone Abandon Warehouse:

Slamming through the ceiling of an abandoned warehouse located at a deserted neighborhood, Gamma, a boy wearing a large grin drops to his knees, deforming back into a child. Tau hand slaps a plastic covered carpet, eyes gaping at a lamp and a crumb of tar.

Windows are covered, shining in a tinted yellow light, a dull warmth of the dawning sun above.

"...Talk about a big one..." Gamma falls on his back, looking far pass the gape he made in the ceiling. "...Right, that's right, big bro?"

A corpse cannot speak, so on concrete, Gamma lays in silence. Crows dive into the whole above, finding the glim on the gold like lamp attractive.

"That dam crow..." Gamma eyes fall to the sofa as Tau did. "He killed big bro... That stupid crow... Who am I gonna play with now..."

In his daydream of holding his brother hand one last time, a crow lands in front of his eyes, pupils meeting pupils.

A curse, a bewitching symbol. He wants to destroy it, eat it whole, send it to death like his brother would do during their gutting game.

"Little crow..." He mutters. "Run... Run as far as you can...."

Getting back up his head now loomed over his dead brother. The gape in his chest is unrecoverable, already turning purple, blood dried dark red and mushy. A vessel without a heart. A child without his light.

At this point, Gamma accepts defeat, his brother is dead...

-A cyclone of feather's shuffles above the two's head, dropping out to their knees atop Tau's body is a mask figure, a member of the sigma flames.

"Iota, always on point. I really starting to like you..."-

-Gamma shoves the mask figure off his brother, eyes gleaming pressing them down on the sofa by neck.

"Ha, Mu, what are you doing here? Play, or be gutted?" Gamma grip tightens over her neck, wanting, needing something to take his life or his mind off his brother's death.

The hologram covering Mu's face shutdown, revealing a young baby-faced girl with a star tattooed below her eyelid, a black star, three dots following behind it. Her dyed white hair falls to the plastic covering the sofa, lips piker than a strawberry.

"I'm sorry..." Oddly, she blushes at the boy, a calm short stretch of lip to his gleaming eyes that aim to kill. She holds his face in her hands. "As the oldest, I should have grabbed you both myself..."

-"Big bro... That crow, he killed him." Gamma grip loosens, eyes fading away the gleam, submitted by Mu's kindness. "Big bro..." He sniffs. "Big bro..." Mu cradles the child in her arms, glimpsing to Tau amidst the constant crowing around them.

Vultures, those creatures are, picking at the corpse of Tau, fingers to toes.

Mu sits up, allowing the boy to continue to hold on to her, "Gamma," Decisive, having her own motive, Mu whispers his name. "Let's avenge Tau, me and you."

Gamma looks up to Mu. "Like, kill the crow?"

Mu, her expression falls flat, yet she's able to keep the same enthusiastic tone in her voice. "Ha, no, of course not, but there is one thing we can do..."

Gamma eyes stare into a void of despair that laughs at ever fearing death, a woman of nothing to lose but her own mind. Angel wings spread out as a dust of shadows, the wings of The Angel, her wings, Mu's dedication.

She wants to see a lot more than just her crush...
