80 Chapter 55: Angeloids

-back at DxD dimension-

"This place is..."

Riku muttered along with several dhampirs behind him as all of them observed the ruined lands of the Angeloids.

All buildings and houses are collapsing due to its old age as molds and vegetations covered the entire island.

"Riku-sama, what are your orders?"

One of the dhampirs respectfully asked as he stood behind Riku who wore a simple robe over his body to hide all of his features as a gas mask covered the lower half of his face.

"Let's split up and find the remains of the Angeloids... Don't do anything reckless like checking everything the device by yourself, this is a direct order from Lucias. If you find it contact everyone else and bring it back to the base"

Riku said without turning his head back to look at the dhampirs while observing the terrains of the island, floating above high altitude in the sky above Japan, where their headquarters, Aincrad flew to while following the map given to them by Lucias.

"Aschente"

All of the dhampirs saluted in unison before disappearing from their places as they entered the shadows of the ruined buildings, leaving Riku alone by himself on the entrance of the city.

"Now then, let's see what we find"

Riku muttered before running towards the forest like city, while studying the his location to see if any kind of being lives inside the ruined land.

"This area seems to be clear... but it isn't strange if I don't find anything living here... considering how poisonous the plants are in this place"

He muttered as he increased his pace, searching through the area to find any signs of the laboratory where the remaining Angeloids were contained.

"Nothing... huh?"

Riku said before pressing the ear piece on his ears to contact the other dhampirs if they found anything.

"This is Riku, found anything"

"South is clear and nothing can be found"

A voice of a young male spoke through the ear piece causing the other dhampirs on the south to retreat and go back to the entrance of the island.

"West is also clear"

A deep male voice answered before a large explosion occured on the east of the island surprising all of the dhampirs scattered around the island.

"This is Lenora, I found the laboratory but it is guarded by 10 mechanical golems. I need someone to back me up"

A calm voice of a girl spoke as another massive explosion occured from her direction.

"On my way"

The team from both the south and west answered as they swiftly dived into their shadows, rushing towards the direction of the explosion in a hurry.

"I'll be on my way"

Riku said while taking out two pieces of daggers from his back given to him by the dwarves as a weapon to defend himself while doing his tasks in case he got ambushed.

He gripped the handle of the daggers in both of his hands, as the blade made of black iron emitted a chilling glint, displaying how incredibly sharp the blades are.

Riku immediately ran towards the location of the explosion at full speed while holding the dagger in front of his body so that he can easily react to any ambush as he ran through the thick vegetations growing on the buildings.

"Be careful!"

A dhampir wearing a black robe shouted as he pushed the girl from being hit by the giant golems guarding the laboratories of the ruined island.

"Thanks"

The girl dhampir thanked before diving into her shadows, appearing on top of the golem to slice its back open with her short sword, but failed as her short sword broke into two causing her to immediately dive on the shadows of the golems to dodge their attacks.

"Shit... there were Guardians in this place? Is there anything written in the map?"

Riku cursed before hiding in the shadows along with the other dhampirs who ran away as none of their attacks worked on the golems in the laboratory.

"Lenora contact the headquarters for reinforcements. I'll try to find if anything is written regarding this golems in the map"

Riku ordered as he took out an old map from his robe before placing it on the ground to find any information regarding the golems.

"Bryce, go and distract those golem while we find a way out of this situation"

"Aschente"

All of them answered in unison as the girl pressed the ear piece on her ear, trying to switch and connect to the headquarters to request for reinforcements.

"Yes?"

A voice of a woman answered the call as the girl immediately reported their situation to the woman on the other side of the call.

"The enemy is not something we can handle on our own, judging from its strength it's at least a level 1000 golem"

"I see... then hold off for 10 minutes. I'll send the flügels to your location as soon as possible so survive as long as you can... Wait Lucias-sama!?"

The woman shouted in shock as Lucias who just came back from his dimension took the call from her while observing the situation through the several monitors connected to the cameras on the robes of the dhampirs and Riku.

"I'll go there myself, so survive as long as you can, I'll be there in 30 seconds"

"L-Lucias-sama!? Y-You don't need to, you have to rest!"

The girl hurriedly rejected knowing that Lucias just came back from a long journey in another dimension, wanting for him to rest, but due to his nature. Even his own harem had a hard time convincing him to rest and let them take care of everything for him.

"No need, I'm not tired anyway... so just follow my orders"

Lucias calmly said before cutting off the call causing the girl to look at Riku and give him a thumbs up with trembling hands, indicating that the request was successful... but there was more to the situation.

"R-Reinforcement is on their way, we only need to survive as long as possible until they arrive"

The girl stuttered causing Riku to look at her suspiciously.

"What happened?"

"L-Lucias-sama is coming here personally"

The girl reluctantly answered causing Riku to look at her in shock from hearing her words.

"What!? Why did you stop him!?"

"I-I tried to b-but Lucias-sama still insisted"

"... That guy is just so... *Sigh*..."

Riku tiredly sighed as he facepalm from his actions. 

'He should've just left such minor things to us... This just shows how incompetent we are for having him to personally move himself... I know it isn't his intention... but it's still frustrating'

Riku gritted his teeth, deciding to report this incident to Sephie to make her teach Lucias on how to properly rule as a leader.

"Everyone, reinforcements is coming so hold out as much as you can!"

Riku shouted before running away from the tree he was hiding on as a nearby golem crushed it to pieces.

"Aschente!"

The dhampirs answered in unison as all of them tried to bind the golems in place by controlling the shadows of the golems with their [Shadow Manipulation] skill, but was easily broken by the golems due to their incredible physical prowess.

"Dhampirs don't attack them since our attacks does nothing to it, just bind them or dodge their attack, we have 10 more seconds until help arrives"

He shouted before jumping up, avoiding the giant fist of the golem, landing on top of its arm as its fist destroyed the ground below him.

He immediately climb the arm of the giant golem to its shoulder before piercing his dagger on its metallic body to keep him from falling causing the golem to hit itself at its own shoulder in full force.

Riku who saw his arm immediately jumped backwards while pulling out the daggers from it body causing its own fist to hit itself and destroy its own left arm as he landed on top of another golem.

"I'm screwed"

Riku muttered as he saw the dozens of golems charged at him at full speed with their fist up in the air, not knowing where to land because of their posture.

"Long time no see, Riku"

Lucias who just arrived together with both Ariel, Lilia and Chris greeted as he landed on top of a golem, activating his [Transcend Limits] skill to increase his status before punching it straight on the head, causing it to crash on the ground, shaking the other golems from their balance.

"... I feel useless"

Riku muttered as he watched Lucias take care of one golem with ease using only a single punch to dispose of them.

"You're not useless Riku, it's just that you're fighting style is not suited for this kinds of opponents. It can easily be disposed using blunt force or a large scale magic, your style is more focused on assassination so don't feel down"

Lucias comforted as Ariel controlled the vibrations of the air inside their body to crush its core from the inside before blowing them away by controlling the wind around her.

Chris blast a hole through their chest before directly kicking a nearby golem with her small feet, creating a massive dent on its chest as it crashed on the walls of the laboratory while Lilia crushed their body into a small pebble using her psychokinesis before throwing it away as she clung on Lucias' arm.

"I'm done..."

Lilia said in a quiet voice, causing Lucias to pat her head before placing his gaze at the laboratory that the golems were guarding.

"Sorry about suddenly interfering Riku"

Lucias apologized while glancing at the white haired man behind him.

"... Please mind your status, Lucias... It crushed our confidence if you directly deal with the problem at our hand ourselves"

"Hahahaha, that really isn't my intentions, sorry if I made you feel that way"

"*Sigh*... It's alright, just please be mindful of your status next time"

"Don't worry I will"

Lucias smiled at his direction before signalling for all of them to follow him inside the laboratory.

"To make you feel better, I didn't come here just to save you, but it is necessary if we want to bring back the Angeloids back to out base"

Lucias said as they all entered the glass door of the laboratory.

"What do you mean?"

"The Angeloids are contained within specialized capsules that preserves their bodies and function, if it is forcibly removed the capsule will cause their body to collapse as a defense mechanism to avoid placing them at the wrong hands"

Lucias answered before kicking down the large safe in front of him, revealing hundreds of capsule inside as 5 more larger ones stood in the front of all the capsules inside the safe.

"The 'creator' of the Angeloids wanted to protect his own creation after the Great War commenced as he was hunted down by the devils for his blueprints, but he committed suicide before they could even capture him, hiding his creations inside this island"

"... How did you know this?"

"I just found out from Nia actually..."

Lucias answered as bit his palm letting his blood flow from his arm before placing his hand on top of a hand shapped scanner found on the side of the room.

"But the main reason why I came here is because of the imprint function of the Angeloids..."

He said as the scanner glowed in bright blue light as hundreds of chains imbedded in his hands before making its way to the chokers of the unconscious Angeloids inside the capsule, causing them to open and release the Angeloids contained inside as the fluids that preserved them flooded the ground of the laboratory.

"Master"

A woman with a voluptuous build and long, rosy-pink hair styled in pigtails secured with dark-pink ribbons called out as soon as she was released along with the others.

"Master?"

A woman with short black hair and blood red eyes asked as she walked closer to Lucias.

"Sorry for suddenly waking you all up"

Lucias says as he patted their heads before turning his sights to the hundreds of Angeloids standing in front of him with a confused expression visible on their faces.

"I'll explain everything later after we go back"

Lucias shouted for all of them to hear before signalling all of them to follow him as a large magic circle of teleportation appeared below them, large enough to bring all of them back to the base.

"Welcome to the faction, Angeloids"
