The Heretic Sword God

The Heretic Sword God, The One Who Betrayed All, The Thousand-Faced God, The Jester's Blade... These were all names given to one person by the masses; Khoru. But, that's too far into the future. Let's start at Khoru's beginning, his start on the path to both supreme and unparalleled strength, and godhood... Khoru, originally someone from a distant planet known as Kale Planet, perished and reincarnated on another planet. In his next life, Khoru realized that there was a drastic difference between the two worlds. This world had supernatural powers. The people of this world could awaken supernatural beings known as 'Martial Spirits' at the age of 12. Not only would these beings aid people in their cultivation, they could even provide people with magical items or abilities. Khoru just so happened to be born into a small noble family in Yellow Apple Town; The Ghostly Blade Family. They were a noble family full of sword fanatics. It was said that each member of the family would awaken a weapon type, almost always a sword-type, Martial Spirit. They were all extremely powerful as well. So now, not only did Khoru have to survive in a supernatural world where death was as common as eating, he also had to live up to the expectations of his overbearing family... And even worse, he was born as the illegitimate son of one of the supreme elders of the family! Fear not though, because Khoru won't fold under pressure so easily! = = = = = [Cover does not belong to me, I only edited it a bit.]

Scapegoats?!

!

Everyone's expression changed the moment they saw Khoru slice the Ice-fanged Tiger to pieces. They didn't expect him to slay the magical beast so easily even though he was in the 2nd realm of the foundation building realm.

Khoru suppressed his low-devil aura and went over and plunged his hands into the tiger's corpse. The yin and yang energies rapidly dissipated as Khoru looked for the monster core.

It didn't take long for him to come across something hard. He immediately grabbed it and pulled it out of the tiger's body.

It was the size of an apple and was white and bright blue. It glowed with Spirit Qi and had a hard shell.

'A monster core...' Khoru felt excited when he looked at the monster core. It was proof of his slaying of the Ice-fanged Tiger and physical proof of his strength.

Khoru then placed the monster core into a bag that he brought with him on the expedition.

After that, he and the rest of the party continued to explore the Nighteye forest for the entire day...

'This is great!' Khoru's eyes glistened with pride and excitement as he stared into the pouch that was stuffed with 5 stage one foundation building magical beast cores.

During their exploration, Khoru observed everyone and noticed that one of them was acting strangely.

It was the woman with dark blue hair, Tian Mei. Khoru noticed that she never engaged in fights and only lingered in the shadows for the better part of their entire exploration.

He could also feel an extremely faint aura of killing intent emanating from her from time to time.

'What's her deal?' Khoru thought as they roamed the forest. The sun had just started to set, and they happened to discover a ruin just a bit afterwards.

The ruins looked ancient and the air within it was musty and old, it also went underground.

"Ruins in the Nighteye forest? How odd." Tai Mu muttered to himself. He grabbed a round-shaped object, probably a nut, and threw up down the stairs that led into the ruins.

The nut was the size of a tennis ball, so it made quiet the racket as it fell down the stairway.

Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump-

Finally, after a few seconds of consecutive thumping, the nut reached the end of the stairway, assumingly.

"Alright, it's not too deep down... I guess we could explore the entrance then..." Tai Mu suggested. He didn't wait for a response from anyone and walked into the ruins immediately.

Edward, Tian Mei, Khoru, and the last woman entered the ruins right after him. It was dark and the air was dirty, Khoru felt as if he had jumped into a pool of dirt.

It was very uncomfortable.

As the group walked down the stairs, they finally reached the end, where they saw the fallen nut which was illuminated by a torch placed further into the ruins. It was behind a carved-through doorway that led further into the ruins.

"Let's go then." Tai Mu encouraged. He wasn't the least bit worried about anything and didn't even look back, instead, he kept advancing.

Nobody had a problem with it, and before they knew it, they had explored a great bit of the ruins. It for sure had to have been nighttime by the time they became aware of how long they had been exploring the ruins.

"We've been in here for a while, haven't we?" Tian Mei suddenly said.

"Yes, you're right. Shall we rest here or seek shelter elsewhere?" Edwards elegantly asked. His sharp eyes analyzed the entire room they were in, which was a small space that was only big enough to fit the tents and the group.

"I guess we can stay here for the nig—" Just as Tai Mu was finishing his words, a world-shattering roar encompassed the entire ruins, shaking the entire underground structure upon is wake.

?!

What the hell?!

Where did that roar come from?

It sounds powerful...

Tian Mu's expression quickly turned grim and his face turned a few shades paler. He wasn't the only one to become like this, everyone in the group suddenly felt as if something baleful had appeared somewhere inside the ruins.

'What the hell was that?' Even Khoru's thoughts were shaky. The roar that rang out just moments ago had shaken him to his core.

Regardless, he didn't dare to cower in fear nor think negatively. His best bet was to analyze the situation rationally and execute the best possible course of actions to insure his life!

'You actually think I'm gonna die here?' Khoru snickered in his mind and regained his composure. He looked around, noticing the ashen faces of everyone.

Well, almost everyone.

The woman with the light pink hair... Her face was far from ashen. Disturbingly, her lips had curled into a vile smile that sent shivers down people's faces.

Khoru's face contorted as he suddenly pieced things together.

The reason why Tian Mei was releasing faint killing intent.

The reason why she observed everyone closely and lingered in the shadows.

The reason why the pink-haired girl was grinning...

There's a mole!

Khoru immediately shouted.

"This pink-haired lady is some type of mole! She came here to sabotage our expedition!" His voice and words shook the other party members, except Tian Mei.

She was a little shocked that Khoru wasn't shaking in fear as she thought he would be, but for the most part she had suspected those things.

"As I assumed. Strike her down where she stands, we can't let her leave alive, and we also have to do something about that 5th stage foundation building magical beast!"

Tian Mei's orderly words revived the composure of Tai Mu & Edward. Their expressions gradually changed and they all eyed the pink-haired girl with hostility.

"What did you do?" Tai Mu shouted angrily.

"Since you'll all perish soon, there's no harm in spilling the beans! That fifth stage magical beast was a magical beast imprisoned in these ruins just a month ago. But I freed it, with a little help of course! My initial plan was to bring lady Jin Xiang here and trap her, but alas, she's too smart for that. Unfortunately, she sent you four here as scapegoats, so you're not allowed to leave!"
