The Heretic Sword God

The Heretic Sword God, The One Who Betrayed All, The Thousand-Faced God, The Jester's Blade... These were all names given to one person by the masses; Khoru. But, that's too far into the future. Let's start at Khoru's beginning, his start on the path to both supreme and unparalleled strength, and godhood... Khoru, originally someone from a distant planet known as Kale Planet, perished and reincarnated on another planet. In his next life, Khoru realized that there was a drastic difference between the two worlds. This world had supernatural powers. The people of this world could awaken supernatural beings known as 'Martial Spirits' at the age of 12. Not only would these beings aid people in their cultivation, they could even provide people with magical items or abilities. Khoru just so happened to be born into a small noble family in Yellow Apple Town; The Ghostly Blade Family. They were a noble family full of sword fanatics. It was said that each member of the family would awaken a weapon type, almost always a sword-type, Martial Spirit. They were all extremely powerful as well. So now, not only did Khoru have to survive in a supernatural world where death was as common as eating, he also had to live up to the expectations of his overbearing family... And even worse, he was born as the illegitimate son of one of the supreme elders of the family! Fear not though, because Khoru won't fold under pressure so easily! = = = = = [Cover does not belong to me, I only edited it a bit.]

Khoru used the last bit of Spirit Qi remaining to control the 50 pills and ingest them immediately. A chaotic surge of Spirit Qi rose within Khoru's body and heated his dantian to the point where he felt as if he was in an oven.

Regardless, Khoru circulated his Spirit Qi at a rate faster than he had ever done it. Even then, that did nearly nothing to help! His Martial Spirits continuously absorbed the Spirit Qi in his body, forcing him to break open another pill bottle.

Khoru gritted his teeth as he crushed four pill bottles in a row just to keep up with the terrifying absorption rate. Just as he felt the Spirit Qi in his body being absorbed at an even more alarming rate, it suddenly stopped being absorbed.

In exchange, he grimaced in pain. He didn't know why he suddenly felt his head aching in severe pain, but it did. He watched in pain and confusion as his Martial Spirits appeared outside of his Sea of Consciousness without his permission.

He was shocked and tried to summon them back inside, but it didn't work. Instead, the humming sound and feeling they produced increased in ferocity and it began to increase the pain Khoru was feeling in his head and mind.

"AAAH! What the hell is going on?! Why are my Martial Spirits reacting like this?!" He couldn't find the answer to his question, or even be informed of what exactly was happening. Khoru had to silently watch the spectacle cluelessly.

Where is all this power coming from?

Why are My Martial Spirits acting in such a way?!

Khoru knelt on the ground and watched as his Martial Spirits slowly moved towards each other. Every time they got closer, the power and humming sounds they released would increase in power; the courtyard was nearly destroyed by this point and Khoru was barely hanging on.

He gritted his teeth and shielded his eyes from the violent blue and purple lights that dyed the courtyard.

He could feel his entire body starting to be ripped apart by the time both Martial Spirits had made physical contact. The power they released magnified significantly and a terrifying shockwave blew Khoru across the ground and left him incapacitated.

He was still conscious though.

He watched as the courtyard was drowned in a blinding light that contained immense power. His view was completely obscured until the light finally began to wane and the humming feeling and noise dissipated.

When he felt that he could move again, he got up and walked towards what he thought were his Martial Spirits. What was there now shocked him though.

It wasn't his Martial Spirits, rather, it was his Martial Spirit.

A singular sword.

A mix between blue and purple and infected the air around it with it's mysterious energy.

The blade was sleek and thin and sharper than Khoru's original Martial Spirits. He reached out and grabbed the blade, feeling an instant burst of overbearing power course through his body from the sword.

A big grin appeared on his face as he placed the sword on his hip as if he was sheathing it and then called out, "Air Collapsing Yin-Yang Sword-Art, First Stroke!" The moment Khoru swung the sword forward, the air itself was nearly cut apart and loud howling came from all around.

The air within a 10 meter radius was stirred up like ingredients in a blender and quickly became parts of a yin and yang tornado! The yin and yang energies were so violent, more violent than ever before as they clashed with each other and brought chaos.

Khoru felt the impact of the tornado, and just by the winds it released alone he assumed that the tornado was far too powerful! He tried to plant himself on a favorable angle of the courtyard, but it was too perfectly balanced.

He was blown away for the second time today, yet he got back up with a grin so big that it nearly reached his eyes. His gaze went down and lingered on the sword in his hand, which hummed mysteriously every now and then.

'What exactly is this Martial Spirit? I can't believe this at all...' Khoru brought the sword to his eyes and meticulously inspected, though he found nothing. The handle was nearly identical to any other katana's handle, but the blade was definitely interesting.

It was a mix of dark blue and purple with mysterious energy swirling around it, as well as parts of the blade becoming liquid for split seconds.

Khoru fell in love with the weapon and repeatedly used the first stroke of his sword art in the courtyard until the entire ground was razed and all that was left was the dirt underneath the grass. When he stopped to take a few breaths, he felt an intense depletion of Spirit Qi and his Martial Spirit initiated a strange reaction.

A bright light covered Khoru's Martial Spirit until he subconsciously dropped it on the ground. The light intensified until the Martial Spirit was completely covered in bright white light. Khoru watched carefully as the blade suddenly divided into two!

'It un-transformed! Noo!' Khoru was a bit devastated that the sword un-transformed but he still wanted his original swords back, for convenience. Before Khoru could do anything, he felt his body lose its strength and he fell to the ground, unconscious.

Xin Xuan heard the thud just as she finished making dinner so she went out to the courtyard and her pupils widened in shock. The entire courtyard was utterly destroyed; razed to the ground as if a tornado ran through it.

"What attack caused such a devastating effect?" She muttered as she approached Khoru and let out a sigh before picking him up and carrying him inside.

"Beating yourself up for the town's competition... No one could've gotten much stronger in a week." She put Khoru in the bed, went to the bathroom and came back with a pail of cold water.

'Hopefully this'll teach you not to over-exert yourself before dinner time.' A gentle smile appeared on her face as she tilted the pail over completely.
