"If you don't explain how you know about her being a fire demon, I will not believe a word you say." Penelope took a step back in an attempt to intimidate the woman into telling her everything.

Alas, her attempt failed as the woman merely shrugged. "You don't need to believe me. No matter what you think, it doesn't change the fact that the curse of the sun is now in her tiny little hands."

Penelope was flabbergasted. How come she didn't know that Delaney was a demon? Was there even such a possibility? She couldn't simply believe it without investigating. So once she and Reginald got back to Ivrasea, she spent weeks in the library researching all she could find about demons and deities before she finally found a scroll written by a god of time who had traveled to the future. She hesitantly opened it, her heart sinking as soon as she saw the words that confirmed her fear.
