"What? Cancel the wedding?"

Amelia Walker stood in her beautifully decorated living room, her face shocked as she looked at Sebastian Carter sitting on the leather sofa and smoking.

For a moment, Amelia felt as if the world were spinning, unable to accept this reality. Just two days ago, she had tried on her wedding dress flown in from Milan!

She rushed forward, raising her voice involuntarily, "Why do you want to cancel the wedding? You said before that the wedding would proceed as planned!"

She had never used this tone or this voice with Sebastian before. Whatever he said was what she obediently followed, never objecting because she never had the right to do so.

But now, she couldn't control herself. This was too big of a blow to her. She was so close to securing that magnificent position, only a step away, yet now she was being pushed into an abyss, unable to reach it ever again. How could she accept this?
