"Let it be Alpha, Jake, but I suggest you issue the alert for all the packs. We elect him as a representative for a reason. His son, the heir, must know the responsibilities ahead. Logan?" Melker calls him, and Logan watches his father and approaches. "You are the heir of all races, not just wolves. Not just your father’s pack, visit every village in the reserve. I invite you to spend a day in my kingdom." Melker makes the invitation and leaves after everyone hears noises and police lights, probably the same ones near Fullmoon.
The way back, Anamali hugged his father and Aly who was beside him worried, Logan talked to Luna about something and always looked in his direction, many of which were the subject of the moment. As they approached the pack, they could see the lights on and all waiting. The alpha returned from a mission, but it was not quite that, the representative of the circle was there and wanted to see Anamali and Logan alone. "Alpha, Lu... one of the representatives of the Great Circle is in the pack and asks for a meeting with Logan and Anamali." Johnny delivers the message.
"All right, thanks Johnny, we’ll take you to the meeting room in two minutes. " Says the alpha, waiting for the two to arrive.
"Sir? He said he wants to talk only about Logan and Anamali at this first meeting." "Okay, fine, Johnny, tell him you’re both on the way." Says, signaling the two to follow the messenger.
The two made the path in silence, agreeing and sometimes denying any comment Johnny made.
"You must be scared, right? No one has ever spoken personally to one of the elders of the great circle."
Both agreed to let the matter die there, in the meeting room the doors were opened revealing a gentleman with blue eyes almost gray, his face was thin and pale and wore a gray tunic with details on the sash and black bar. There was a medium-sized beard and his hair was dark brown, neither of them knew what to expect. The elder gets up to notice the two and welcomes them with a warm smile. Logan was suspicious but sat down. It seemed something important since they saw many people around the house waiting for them, he looked at Anamali who watched everything in silence. "It is a great pleasure to meet the heir and guardian of this age. My name is Bloor, I have been from the great circle since my birth. The representative of the ancient wolves, each era is marked by an heir and a guardian of the ancient wolves, and various heirs elected for the common good of community life in the reserve and throughout our world, our reserve grows more and more because of each heir who helps us in a way. "But, sir, how do I know I’ll be ready to be that heir that everyone expects?" Logan asks
"You two will know, you’re not alone. You have each other, a team walk and would even like to take exams to be sure of certain things, but could only with you two training with me and with the elders on our mountain. In about four months, you will receive a letter with the invitation to train with us."
"I’m the guardian of what? I don’t understand about me being someone important." Asks after observing what Mr Bloor was saying.
"This only you can find out, each guardian has a mission and yours is to figure out how to help and protect the heir. This does not make your walk more difficult and doesn’t even mean it’s underneath, on a level below it. Without the guardian, no heir can complete the mission. Bloor says and removes from a bag some maps, books and notes. "Here in this region, is the hut to the east following the trail under the waterfall. " Shows the points where they should go. And he was surprised by the seriousness of the two in front of him and everyone wanted to know more about them, would stay a few more weeks to observe the two closely.
"Should we both go together without help?" asks Logan
"Not yet, calm down. I'll be staying for a few weeks to do some tests and observe you, and also explain about these books and notes. We need a place outside the pack for us to do the meetings." Bloor gives them books and notes to each of the two. And fires them. "I'll look for a place, and I'll let you know" he gets up, opening the door for both of them.
Anamali and Logan go their separate ways and in silence as everyone stares at them expectantly.
"Let's go dad? I have to rest." Mali says "Good night everyone" ends by hearing everyone respond.
The day had been busy for everyone in the pack, once quiet and now full of visitors both inside and around, the coroners were still at the crime scene, in and out. Watchmen were nearby watching the work and making the report that would be ready in a few days. Anamali didn't understand what was so important about being a guardian, and why she had been chosen. Logan didn't know much about the pack, let alone being a wolf. How would the two save all the people in the pack?
On the way, she and Farkas exchanged words about the weather, the wolf's father seemed uncomfortable to touch on complicated subjects, he always gave his daughter freedom to talk about any subject, and he didn't like to force the bar and force her to talk because he understood that in his own time he would feel free to broach the subject. When they get home, they heat up the food and sit around the table for dinner.
"How was it?" Farkas asks the daughter who had barely eaten with her food, she was fiddling with her fork while supporting her head with her other hand.
"Ah dad" She whispered with a tired sigh "It was scary, all those brothers who were taken hostage, helped me when I was unconscious in human form, and apparently they had our number and knew about my lack of control, how could they find out something like that?" Ask the father staring at him
"I'll check it out in the morning, in case there's a spy around here or the line is tapped. And what did the elder want?" Question "I don't want to pressure you, but you seem thoughtful since you left that room, I've noticed Logan acting like that too and I want you to know that no matter what your father is here to help you." Ends
"Thanks dad, he wants to see Logan's training up close, and he knows I'm his daughter, and so he wants me and Logan to train together." He says, and the matter ends there, he knew she had lied and wouldn't bring it up. The two wash the dishes and Anamali kisses her father on the cheek good night and goes upstairs, falling asleep as soon as she lies in bed.
At dawn the watchmen were hiding in their wolf forms pretending to be just a pack of wolves living nearby mingling with common wolves and animals. They got along well and served as camouflage.
"They are all human, but the coroner found strange data in the DNA of this woman, Mary Souzone, 43 years old and born here, has 4 children and all are married." They comment on each other. "The scent of blood is attracting the beasts, there are several wolves around us, could some DNA be theirs? But there are no bite marks on these bodies, Lucinda!" One of the investigators was talking to the others, they seemed frightened by the number of bodies dumped there.
"That's a lot of bodies, Joe, we've never seen anything like this, and I'm rooting for this maniac to get life." A woman says."
There were more wolves around, the lookouts notice the neighboring pack guard being led by alpha Vilky, They walk towards Fullmoon.
One of the guards follows in wolf form to the pack via a shortcut they used to use. Arriving in time to see Jake facing Vilky, Anamali and Logan were next to each other.
"Alpha Jake, I came in peace to invite Anamali, Seline and Saline to my birthday, they know I still haven't found my mate, and so I'm inviting the wolves from the neighboring packs that still haven't found their mates." He says and smiles at Anamali. That swallows dry.
