Hide and Seek

"Darius, they will find us here," Talisa said in fear.

Talisa could feel from the vibrations on the ground that there are a lot of footsteps spread throughout the school. They searched every available room. Talisa could feel it clearly now.

"Damn!" Darius said.

Darius quickly headed towards the only door in the small warehouse. Very slowly, he opened the door, just a little so he could peek out. Just a second, Darius quickly closed the door again slowly.

"What is it?" Talisa asked, almost silently.

Darius didn't say anything, his expression was barely legible, as usual. He just stood up and looked around the room. Then he saw a corner covered by a lot of dusty stuff. Quickly, Darius jumped into the corner and piled several boxes together leaving a patch of space in the middle. Talisa quickly understood what Darius was doing. He prepared a place to hide.

Darius gestured for Talisa to hide there, then he took Michael's body which was still unconscious, and put him in a sitting position in the same place. He then took shabby clothes and covered their hiding places.

Just as Darius had just covered them with a cloth, suddenly there was a sound of a door opening. Talisa's heart was beating fast because of it. There was the sound of footsteps coming inside and turning on the light in the warehouse. Darius is silent like a statue and Talisa doesn't even dare to breathe. But unfortunately, suddenly Michael moved.

It was the first time Marissa had seen Darius widen his eyes. Finally, there was an expression on the man's face. He watched Michael start to make a little sound. Darius cursed inwardly. He had been trying to resuscitate Michael for a long time, but why did the man choose the wrong time to wake up.

"Morane, did you find anything?" asked someone from outside the warehouse.

"I just came in," he replied.

"Search carefully. Ms. White ordered that we search until we find whoever the intruder was."

"I'm doing it. You do your own thing!" cried the woman called Morane. She sounded a little annoyed.

After saying that, Morane went deeper into the warehouse, then began to put away some things and look around. Darius cursed in his heart. Seeing the pile of cloth, of course, the woman would open it. There wasn't enough time to think and now Darius regretted it. They should have hidden better.

When the footsteps were heard approaching them, Talisa's heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest cavity. Darius was already preparing to incapacitate the woman. However, if he did that, then everything would be chaotic. The sorcerers would definitely know they were in the warehouse and there would be no way out. This sorcerer wasn't low level, Darius could feel the energy. If he had to incapacitate this woman, of course, there would be loud noises from inside the warehouse that will attract the others.

Talisa didn't know what to think, but she had to do something. Only she could do anything now because her strength was earth power which was not too conspicuous, while Darius' firepower was too conspicuous. Talisa quickly thought of something to distract the sorcerer, but what? After all, she couldn't expend a great deal of energy without a touch from Darius. How can she do anything?

The woman then drew closer. Michael's voice had made her suspicious.

"Who is there?" she asked.

Talisa could imagine that the woman was brandishing her wand. The light from the wand was so dazzling that even Talisa could see it through the worn-out cloth.

Morane began to reach out her hand to tug at the worn-out cloth covering the room's corner. They would be in big trouble if they got caught here. Talisa couldn't think straight, she quickly pulled Darius's face closer to hers. Without thinking twice, Talisa then kissed Darius on the lips, making Darius a little surprised and about to dodge. However, Talisa put a hand on Darius' nape, restraining the man from moving away.

At the same time, a loud voice rang out from outside the window. Darius doesn't know what it was, but he knew that Talisa was the one who did it. Talisa's body glowed with a greenish light as she kissed Darius.

"Out there!" someone shouted.

Morane quickly ran out of the warehouse. It seemed like all the sorcerers were going to the same place, heading towards the voice outside the school building.

"What are you doing?"

Michael's question surprised Talisa and made her took her lips away from Darius's. Michael had woken up and now his eyes were shining with anger.

"This is not the time to fight, Michael. We are in the school. Lower your voice," Talisa said in a whisper.

"We have to get out of here," Darius added as he removed the cloth covering their heads.

"How dare you!" cried Michael as he rushed over and grabbed Michael by the neck.

"Michael! Stop it! I kissed him. I did it to save our lives. Darius' touch allows me to use my powers," Talisa said, trying to keep her voice low.

Michael turned to Talisa in disbelief. Darius just rolled his eyes nonchalantly. Michael's grip on his neck seemed to do nothing for him. If the situation had been different, Darius would definitely have served Michael and made the fight even more extensive. However, they didn't have time for that right now.

"What did you say?" Michael looked at Talisa in disbelief.

"That's the truth, silver hair," Darius said.

"I made a tree closest to the school door fall down. It must have hit a part of the roof of the school building. This is our chance to leave," said Talisa.

"Michael, now is the time to tell us what do you know about this school? Where can we find data about that little girl?" Talisa asked Michael who still looked surprised.

Michael then sighed and shook his head.

"Follow me," Michael said.

He then led Darius and Talisa out of the warehouse room. There was no one in the hallway now. They quickly walked down the hall to somewhere.

Meanwhile, Natasha White, Headmaster of the Wilbury School went out with the other sorcerers to see what kind of loud noise was outside. Seeing a large tree fall on the roof of the school, Natasha was stunned for a moment. A second later, a thought seemed to wake her up.

"This might just be a diversion! Go back inside!" cried Natasha.

Whoever had infiltrated it wouldn't have made it out of Wilbury School alive.
