Meira's gaze flitted around the room, never stopping for too long in one place at a time. Ever since her sister had passed away, it seemed that she began to see shadows of her sister everywhere. But not once could she fully grasp her sister again. 

"And yet, it hasn't even been that long since her death, and His Majesty seems to have forgotten all about her." 

"Why are you telling me this?" Daphne didn't know how to follow Meira's story, nor whether she wanted to follow Meira's version of the tale. 

"I've asked myself this question many many times, yet I've never been able to answer it for myself. But you seem like you can answer it for me." Meira pointed to Daphne's wound. "Why is it that between your life and His Majesty's, you're willing to put yours on the line for his? Why is it that both you and her are willing to throw away the entire future away for a mere man?"
