Cost of Blood

Daphne looked at the expression of hatred burned into Meira's face.

Her eyes were extremely bloodshot, almost like they had been shedding crimson tears ever since her sister had passed away. The corners of her lips were chapped, the skin flaking away from the before-rosy flesh.

She seemed so lost, like a shadow of a human that had been permanently frozen in that one fateful day years ago.

It was as if she spent her past years chasing after a revenge, hoping that it would fill in the aching gap in her heart, only because she didn't know what else she could do to fill it in.

This burning revenge contorted her features, making the somewhat crazed appearance seem even logical.

In the face of extreme hurt, it seemed like anything could be made almost logical.

Looking at Meira, Daphne found that everything in her mind had simply went blank.

Her inner senses told her that Meira had not been lying.
