"I want—" He paused, knowing that she couldn't give him what he actually wanted. He changed his mind. "I want for you to forget everything you thought you knew about me before." 

"I don't think I can immediately erase everything from my mind, but I will try not to let it cloud my judgment of you." 

If she immediately gave in, Daphne felt like she was betraying all of her people's suffering and Akira's torture. 

He nodded. Taking a step away from Daphne, he began pacing in the room to add distance between the two of them. He didn't know how much he could admit if he was staring straight into her eyes. 

"Princess, I don't think you remember this, but I've known you for a long time." 

Those words hit Daphne out of the blue. There was no way that she had ever seen Korbin before the cursed day that he invaded her home. 

He must have read the confusion on her face.
