Saboteur

Following the cloaked figure, Delvin stuck to the shadows and kept quiet, controlling his breathing and keeping his clothes from rustling too much

Whoever the person was, they weren't mildew, too short and of course, the man had literally died, Delvin had seen the body. So who were they?

Keeping to the shadows of the surrounding trees and keeping his distance Delvin trailed behind, watching as the person walked along a pre-trodden path, towards the cliff. Delvin wasn't sure what they were doing until he watched them throw one of the dragon boots off the cliff and into the ocean

"Stop Right there!" Delvin yelled, springing from the shadow, halberd at the ready as he charged towards the figure, hoping to stop them from throwing the rest of the evidence into the ocean, however, he wasn't fast enough as the cloaked figure saw him and panicked, grabbing the rest of of the evidence and chucking it into the ocean with a heave

Throwing himself forward Delvin stabbed forward with his halberd, not at the unknown saboteur but instead towards one of the falling objects with a cry. And his efforts were rewarded, as through either luck or skill he was able to hit one of the two zippleback boots, knocking it back onto the cliff, a few meters away from himself and the cloaked figure

For a moment Delvin and the other person just stood still, unsure what to do as the boot landed safely on the ground, hesitating for a moment, however, the pause was broken as the cloaked person let out a grunt before charging toward the boot, trying to reach it before Delvin

However Delvin was able to stop them as he plunged his halberd into the back of the flowing cloak, catching it on the ground and knocking the figure to their back, choked by their own apparel

Not wasting time Delvin immediately pulled his halberd free, running towards the boot! However, his world soon tilted as the sprawling mass of cloak reached out a foot tripping him and causing him to fall onto them. As he landed on the person he was able to catch a quick glance at their face or at least part of it

The lower part from the nose to chin was covered by a scarf, however, he could easily make out the piercing green eyes and black braid that had fallen out of her hood. As he began to struggle with the surprisingly strong person he quickly realized his opponent was a woman and that she was reaching for a dagger!

Throwing a hand to the side, Delvin was able to just grab onto his halberd, pulling it forward in time for the shaft to stop the steel dagger that was plunging towards his face, before pushing it forward, slamming the hilt of the dagger back into the girl's chest, winding her

Taking the moment to break free from her grasp, Delvin launched himself towards the boot, grabbing it before rolling and turning back towards the girl, the boot clutched to his chest like an infant and his halberd extended

Only to find the mystery girl now running away, towards the beach!

"For Odin's sake! Never a dull moment!" Delvin complained as he rose to his feet and gave chase. Pursing the billowing cloak of the girl, Delvin found himself bobbing and weaving through trees before finding himself trudging through the sand of the beach "why does she have to be so damn fast" He panted as he continued the chase

However as they ran along the cove, Delvin soon saw what she was running towards, a boat, one that didn't belong to berk and was surrounded by Vikings that were leveling bows at him. He only had a few moments to throw his halberd at the girl while lunging for the cover of a nearby tree as the arrows flew toward him

"Dammit!" Delvin cursed as he watched both his halberd throw miss, only glancing the girl's arm, drawing a cry from her, and then watched as she jumped on board the ship, the Vikings keeping him pinned down as they then set sail

However, as he watched the ship sail away onto the horizon, never taking his eyes from the girl's cloaked figure as she two stared back at him, standing on the ship, cloak billowing. Unable to keep himself from being slightly smug however Delvin raised the dragon boot above his head, waving it at the girl

He now had proof

"It was a woman" Delvin announced as he stormed into the destroyed forge, addressing the glum Stoik and Gobber, the riders had yet to return from dropping off the dragons, throwing the boot onto the table they sat at

"Congratulations my boy" gobber said with a bitter smile before looking towards his burnt-down home around them "however could you let me grieve my loss before beguiling us the tales of your love escapades?" the man continued, causing Stoick to send him a bitter smile as well

"N-no not in that way!" Delvin stuttered, slightly embarrassed by what the man had taken his words for before shaking his head and pointing towards the boot he had just thrown at them "the dragons were framed!"

"Pardon?" Stoick asked before grabbing the boot and bringing it up to his face as he inspected it, his face growing slightly red as he realized what it meant, that someone had faked the tracks that had started all this "you said it was a woman?" he demand, looking back at Delvin with a thunderous expression

"Yes" Delvin nodded before, sitting down at a seat and rubbing his leg that had begun to ache slightly due to his run from earlier "I didn't see her face, but she was hiding out in mildews old shack, she was discarding the evidence when i found her"

"Where is she?!" Gobber yelled as he switched his hook hand for a hammer, looking ready to avenge his destroyed hom

"That the bad news" Delvin sighed, before leaning in, ensuring that no one else could hear their conversation "she had help, vikings were waiting to pick her up on the beach, Vikings wearing the symbol of outcast island!" he whispered to the chief and blacksmith

"I think we should be expecting an invasion any day now," he told them with a steely expression "likely even tonight"
