CHAPTER FOUR

I looked at her and said, "You know what, let's ask teacher for the answer in the next lesson." "Okay, fine." Hannah said. "Yeah, that would work, I think I'll understand." Aaron said. We continued revising and the lesson ended. "I think our group should always be divided." Luke said. "Yeah, obviously I can't study with Aaron and the new kid." Brandon said calling me new kid again. I just don't get why he doesn't listen and by the way we are in the same class and he is studying. What in the world is he talking about? I just shook my head and went to sit at my seat. I found Sara already there. "Hey what subject are we having next?" I asked her. "P.E" She answered. "P.E as in Physical Education?" I asked with a worried face. "Yeah obviously, what else would I be meaning?" She said. God! did I hate Physical Education. "Oh no." I said. Immediately I said that, the teacher came into class. "Good after noon class." The teacher said and I just buried my head in my books. For the first time I was wishing a teacher never came into class, but he came. REALLY. "So, today we are going to study about the ways of cooling down and warming up and all of you should go to the pitch." He added. People started moving out of the class and I followed them because I didn't know where the school pitch was. When we reached there, we were given clothes to put on. They were all maxi size than the real owner. "So, we are going to start with warming up. Am gonna put you in groups and each group will have there own way of warming up." He said. I thought he was going to mention name of people but he just divided us according the way he just thought we should be. The groups were only three and each group had something like 8-12 people. "So, one group will be jogging, the other will be doing squats, and the other group will be doing the bicycle running." The teacher said again. I was praying to God as my fingers were crossed that he gets an 'important meeting' that he had to attend to that time. But he didn't and the group I was in got the squats, I can't even even jog and I was given SQUATS, seriously. We started and I was already tired at my first squat. I was breathing so heavily. Trust me, I had the worst time in that lesson. When the lesson was done, I went to shower and found Aura in the washrooms, "Hey girl." I said. "Hi, I saw you guys have P.E. Man you're mob hilarious to watch. It would some trending T.V show, ' The Big Fails In Physical Education' and you would be the best at failing. I think you would get a trophy if they were for serving." She made fan of me and laughed. I laughed too and asked, "Hey, it isn't like as if you would do any better?" "Obviously, I can." She said. "Yeah right." I said it like as if I didn't believe her and yet I did. "Girl, I better get going, my mom's waiting for me." She said and went out. "I looked at my self in the mirror and thought to my self how my first day of school turned out good apart from the Brandon part everything was okay. I went to the bathroom, showered, went out and got dressed. When I was moving to go to the parking yard, I met Hannah, "Hey, it was great to discuss with you today. I hope we could be friends." She said. "Yeah, sure I had a fantastic time too." I said to her. "So, meet you tomorrow?" She asked. "Yes." I answered. She continued going her way and I went to the parking yard where I found my dad's car. I entered and greeted him, "Good evening, Dad." "Good evening to you too, Rita." He answered and started driving out the school. When we out of the school, he asked, "So, how was your first day of school?" "Not bad, actually it was good." I answered him with a contented smile on my face. The rest of the drive was totally filled with music and I was checking my phone for any chats and I had and one of them was from Hannah. The Hannah from my former school. It said, 'We can't be friends any more since you were expelled. I just don't deal with people who have bad reputation.' Oh My God, I couldn't believe what I saw but I thought to my self, 'She ain't the only one. After all I have already made new friends.' When we reached home, I saw my brother standing at the door way. My dad parked the car and we went out. "Hey lil' sis, How was your first day of school?" He said when I hugged Him. "Good, I liked the day." I answered. "That's good. Do you still want me to go with you?" He asked. "Nah, am good on my own." I said while smiling and he also laughed a bit. "Where is mom?" I asked him. "She's in the kitchen." He answered. I entered the house and went to the kitchen. "Hi mom." I said while hugging her from the back as she was mixing dough. "Hi, welcome back from school." She said. "Thank you, what are you doing?" I asked. "Am going to bake cookies." She said. "Mmhh, what flavor?" I asked and she smiled then she said, "vanilla." "But the vanilla essence is done. What are you going to use? Did you buy a new one?" I asked. "No, that's why I need you to mix all the other ingredients as I go to the shop opposite the road to buy a new one." She said while pushing me to the bowl where she had started mixing and went out of the kitchen. "Bye." I said when she was already out. I started mixing the other ingredients as I was told. I finished and started waiting for mom to come back. "Where's mom?" Henry came in the kitchen and asked. "She went to buy the vanilla essence?" I answered him. "That was 48 minutes ago and she isn't yet back. Aren't you worried?" He asked me and I just shrugged. "Am gonna tell dad. You try to call her." He said and went out. I picked my phone and called her. She didn't pick up, so I called again and still he didn't pick up. The third time I tried it, her phone number wasn't available and that put me on panic mode. I ran up stairs looking for my dad who wasn't in his room and I ran back down stairs and went out of the house finding my dad who was getting into the car with Henry. I ran to them and Henry asked, "Did you call?" "Yeah but she didn't pick up. I think mom's in trouble. She never fails to pick up my phone calls." I said while entering. The gatekeeper opened the gate and my dad drove out. We had barely even reached the shop where our mom was going, when we all noticed a huge crowd of people surrounding something and there was an ambulance and police cars. It looked like as if an accident had occurred. When I saw that, my heart stared pumping real mob fast. "Dad, let's go check that out." Henry suggested and my dad parked the car. We all went out though both of them were insisting that I should stay in the car. We reached the crowd and what I saw got all the tears in my eyes pouring out. I screamed and ran to my mom who was lying down on the ground bleeding terribly. The police tried to pull me from her but I was resisting and finally they succeeded. They pulled me away and Henry and my dad started holding me as I was still struggling to go to her. They put her in the ambulance and one of the police men came to talk to dad. They went the other side away from the crowd. Dad came back and said, "There are possibilities for your mom to become fine. She still has some life. They're taking her to the hospital. I'll go with them, Henry drive your sister home." He told us and went to the ambulance. "I wanna go too." I said when I had finally reduced my crying. "We shall go tomorrow." Henry told me in a really calm way and put me into the car really gently. When we reached home, I was so tired and depressed. I checked my phone and saw it was 7:08 pm. I just fell on my bed and slept.
