CHAPTER THREE

"Place your hands on the bark of the ancient tree and close your eyes," Otis instructed Aurora.

With Otis's supervision and guidance, Aurora did as she was told and whilst her eyes were closed, she felt an electric surge of energy pass through her, connecting her with the tree's ancient wisdom.

"Tell me what you see, what you feel" Otis told her.

"I see visions of the past and the history of my bloodline flooding my mind and it's too much for me to take in" Aurora replied.

In one of the visions revealed to her, she saw a mysterious figure manipulating her ancestors, forcing them to commit unspeakable acts.

"Who are these people and why were they doing this?" Aurora asked Otis with her eyes closed.

"Those creatures manipulated your ancestors into doing the wrong things and now they want to come for you," Otis said.

She also saw a time when her ancestors were made the protectors and keepers of the forest. The powers of the werewolves were being used for good. But as the years and generations went by, the powers of the curse were abused and its true purpose and intent was twisted.

"The curse was meant for good, but these creatures twisted its purpose," Aurora said as realization sank in.

"and that is why you're here," Otis explained.

With this realization, Aurora knew her rebirth was an opportunity to recover the curse's original purpose and intent, to restore peace and protect the forest once again.

However, the evil spirits were not ready to give up its control over the forest and Aurora.

As the visions faded, Aurora realized that she had to confront the evil forces in order to reveal its true identity and its purpose and as well put an end to its reign.

With renewed hope and determination, she turned to Otis and said "I must put an end to this malevolence, these creatures must stop manipulating my bloodline" She said with assurance.

"But all of these I can't do on my own, I need your help, Otis," she pleaded.

Night turned to day, and day into night as they continued their journey deeper into the forest seeking to find the place where these creatures lived.

They arrived at a barren place, looking more like a glade surrounded by profound darkness that resisted the moonlight.

A tall obsidian obelisk rose in the middle of the glade, adorned with magical symbols and patterns radiating an aura of pure evil and malevolence. It was here that the evil forces had taken its root, its powers coming from the very center of the forest.

Otis raised his hand thereby casting a protective shield around them as they neared the obelisk. It vibrated with dark energy and the glade was filled with the echoes of a terrifying voice saying

"You seek to defy me, young werewolf! but it's too late now, the power you possess within you is already mine" the voice teased.

Suddenly, out of the shadow, emerged a figure, its shape twisting and swaying. It was the evil spirit, a creature of darkness and chaos. It stared at Aurora with eyes full of hatred.

Aurora and Otis prepared themselves for confrontation from the evil spirit, hoping it would launch an attack but instead it said " Your bloodline is weak, Aurora, it has always been so. The power of rebirth is mine to own and control and you're just a prey" it said to Aurora.

At this point, Aurora could feel herself engulfed with her powers. She was overwhelmed and ready to take down the creature.

All of a sudden, with a deafening roar, Aurora jumped towards the creature, her claws slicing through the shadows. But the creature proved stronger and it retaliated. It struck back at Aurora with a dark energy that came in the form of thunderstorms and knocked Aurora to the ground.

"Aurora!, Aurora!!" screamed Otis as he ran to her.

"Get up, you're not fortified enough to fight dark forces like this" Otis said as he helped her up.

Otis, too tired to fight back the evil force, but his ethereal powers couldn't stop the dark magic of the evil creatures. It then became obvious that evil forces were strong and determined to take control of the power of the rebirth.

In the midst of the clash, a vision was revealed to Aurora. The obelisk was the source of the evil forces' powers. She then channeled her strength towards the monolith- a stone from which the obelisk erupted from.

The obelisk trembled as it had been threatened. The evil force slowly became weak as its source had been attacked by Otis's power combined with that of Aurora's.

The darkness surrounding the glade began to fade away and the area started becoming brighter and brighter, revealing the true beauty of the forest once again.

The evil spirit managed to flee as its source, the obelisk shattered into thousand pieces. Its shadowy figure disappeared into the night.

It left behind a warning to Aurora saying " This is not over Aurora, i shall return and the power of the rebirth shall be mine"

The forest once again felt peace and relief, but Aurora and Otis knew that the battle was far from won. They knew the evil creatures would come back to seek her powers and continue its dark missions.

"We need to look for a way to stop the cycle so that these evil creatures won't find their way back here. The rebirth must be a force for good and not a tool for darkness" Aurora said to Otis with determination.

Otis nodded in agreement and said " The journey ahead is treacherous, but with your strength and my powers, we can succeed".

As the moon dipped below the horizon, Aurora and Otis stood in the glade with the echoes of their battle still lingering in the night.

Even though Aurora knew she had taken the first step to a new destiny, The warnings of the evil creature weighed heavily on her mind.
