Myla's worst fear.

The next day had arrived, with the students anticipating tomorrow's competition.

The listed students training, while their fans flattered them. Arthur had called out Myla and were currently in the meditation cubes with a sound proof barrier in position.

"Perhaps, do you have a wing birth mark?" He asked.

"Yah, I do. It's right here." She showed her left arm.

"How did you know?" She inquired.

"Through this." He handed her the prophecy book.

"I was a little curious about what would collect all those power stones and keep them there but I found out."

"It was a beast."

"A beast?" Myla couldn't believe it.

"Yah, a humanoid beast with high intelligence. It told me about the energy in our bodies and left me this book." He explained.

"This...." Myla was confused after reading.

"Yes, it's what you think it is." He confirmed her doubts.

"But, it doesn't make any sense. Ethan Adamz is the person to fulfill the prophecy!" She argued.

"Mm...am also concerned. I think he lied about him being the chosen one." He said.

"How selfish? Just for privileges? That would bring the ruins of the human race!" She was mad.

"Yes, that's right. Then we have to save it." He said and they got to work. They sat in lotus positions; cross legged and closed their eyes as instructed.

They had to think about nothing. Making their minds Absolutely blank but Myla couldn't seem to.

Ever since that incident, she sees that little boy whenever she closes her eyes. His orange eyes still captivating and hypnotizing as ever.

Today, she saw him again. He was saying something thing to her; pleading. She tried to reach out to him and touch him but he seemed to be moving further; away from her!

'Pl...ea..se...' she tried to squeeze out her voice but her throat felt soar; couldn't talk, call him.

'Please, don't go! Please.' she pleaded inwardly; she was in pain! Tears streamed down her face as she clutched her chest; suffocated.

"Lala! Lala!" She then heard his voice.

"Thur! Are you fine? Did you come back to me?" She touched his face. She was overwhelmed, she talk, touch his face. She then hugged him, rubbing his back soothingly.

"Don't leave again. You promised me not to." She rested her head on his shoulder.

"Please~" she added and closed her eyes at ease.

Meanwhile, Arthur was confused. When he opened his eyes, he saw her face pained, panting; sweating like she was from running.

He then inched closer, to wake her from her dream.

"Lala! Lala!" He called out. She then opened her eyes looking at him in a different way.

"Thur! Are you fine? Did you come back to me?" She touched his face making him confused. Before he could say anything, she hugged him rubbing his back soothingly.

"Don't leave again. You promised not to." He heard her say as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Please~" she added.

"Ok." He compromised. It seemed like she had a rough past or something. But it didn't make sense calling his name if it was about her past.

After a few minutes, Myla snapped her eyes open. It was a dream though it felt real. She thought.

But she sniffed a pleasant scent and felt arms around her waist. She then realized she was in Arthur's arms.

'What? It was real! I said that to him? I must be insane!' she felt embarrassed. She then pulled herself out from his embrace.

"Are you fine?" He asked worriedly making her flush with embarrassment.

"Mm," she nodded looking down.

"Am sorry..." She continued.

"It's ok. You can rest." He assured.

"No, I rested really well." She unconsciously smiled. She had to admit that it felt good being in his arms

"I...I.. mean we can continue." She felt embarrassed that she blurted that out. Arthur felt overjoyed hearing that.

"Ok," They sat facing each other, holding each other's hands and closing their eyes with the book in between them.

After a few minutes of silence, Arthur heard a voice.

*Adsum ut impleat prophetiam* it sounded as they repeated after it.

"Adsum ut impleat prophetiam"

"Adsum ut impleat prophetiam"

Just then, a dazzling bright light shone from the book engulfing them; illuminating the whole room.

Arthur opened his eyes noticing himself in the dark; in another room. Looking around, he found Myla a few metres away looking at something.

There was a short altar like structure in the center of the room. On it was a glassy object in shape of an egg and size of a basketball as images flashed on it.

Moving towards it, he noticed that the images were about the grand war that brought about the ruins of the human race.

Screams of horror, pain, misery and sorrow echoed through the dark room making them cover their ears.

Both couldn't take it as human were slain in cold blood.

'Uncover your ears! You have to get used to this if you're to save the human race!' they heard a strange voice echoing through the room.

'Blood will be spilled again and again for sacrifices! Overcome all your fears, face them!'

Both knew it was true! They couldn't be soft hearted if they were to survive and save the human race. Uncovering her ears, Myla heard the screams again.

But among them, there was one she recognized calling out to her. It was the little boy's who always appeared in her dreams.

'Lala, Lala, save me!' it sounded making her heart tighten, clutching her chest. The voice was of horror and pain. This was definitely her worst fear! Hearing him screaming in pain.

'This is what he probably felt when they were attacked!' another voice sounded in her mind. Tears streamed down her face as he continued asking for help.

'Please stop!' she inwardly pleaded as she covered her ears in pain.

Meanwhile, Arthur was in the same situation. He heard cries of misery of different people.

His biological mother and father, adoptive parents, sister and uncle.

'Arthur! Ahh!' his dad screamed.

'My child! Save me!' his mother's voice cracked. He braced himself to pass through the screams of horror.

He clenched his teeth and tightened his grip on his clothes looking strong. But nevertheless, his heart was bleeding, he felt a sting in his heart.

Closing his eyes, he got used to the screams but each one would rip his heart into a million pieces.

After, a minute, the screams stopped and so did the battle. Both stood rooted to the ground as they stared blankly until they gradually calmed down.

After exiting the meditation room, Arthur and Myla stroded through the hallways in silence until they were confronted by a group of dark green boys targeting Arthur, blocking his way.

"Arthur Zane," one of them said mockingly. This was precisely Daniel ranked fifth on the list.

Arthur just looked at him coldly waiting for him to utter another word. After a minute of silence, Arthur walked past them.

To provoke him, Daniel deliberately bumped his shoulder into Arthur's making him glare at him coldly before continuing.

He knew what he wanted but he wouldn't give him the pleasure.

"Coward!" Daniel shouted attracting other students' attention.

"Wow! Is that Daniel?"

"Yes, he's so handsome!"

"Hey! It's Arthur!"

"Really?"

"It seems like they are going to get into a fight!" Another said excitedly as he grasped his phone recording.

"Is Arthur just going to walk away?"

"I think so!"

Hearing the word coward, both Myla and Arthur stopped in their tracks. After a few seconds, Arthur resumed walking away and Myla followed suit.

"Is he really scared of facing Daniel?"

"I think so, after all his ranking is suspicious." Hearing their conversation, Daniel felt like he had a backing and could trample all over Arthur that he arrogantly provoked him again.

"Coward, hiding behind the influence of others!" He shouted. Hearing this, Myla couldn't take it anymore, she moved like a lightning bolt and in an instant, she gripped his neck pressing him against the wall.

Glaring at him coldly, she smirked. She was kind to those who were but could do anything to those who weren't. He kept provoking Arthur again and again making her agitated.

"Would you mind saying that to my face again?" She asked tightening her grip that he suffocated.

No matter how much his friends wanted to help him, they wouldn't dare provoke Myla. No one entered their near perimeter as they watched, recorded and live streamed from a far. And the audience gradually increased.

"He's doomed!"

"It's true that Arthur has her backing."

"Hey! Shhhh. You may get in trouble with her."

"It serves him right!"

Myla leaned and whispered arrogantly.

"I don't mind crippling you before the competition." Making him tremble.
