13 Chapter 13

"Speaking of, Sam what did you mean by 'demon' when you saw him earlier", says Chris with a look of confusion.

"Well he had black eyes when I looked at him, I just went by first thought, I didn't know he was a Grimm. Great punch by the way", says Sam, a hand massaging his nose.

Chris just nods and he makes eye contact with me, sending a pretty solid message of silence from me, he knows something he doesn't want Sam to know, noted.

"One last question. What is your name, oh and don't lie, I've got an eye for things like that," he says with a looks of finality.

Still apprehensive to this being a trap, I think to myself that there's no real use in lying as I say," I'm Thomas' son, Christian Richter".

"Ah, what a coincidence. That doesn't answer why your are here, or why you ran into us." He says with a solid glare.

"I was here with some of my friends for a late night jog, we were a little drunk from the party we were just at, and we wanted to run it off. We came out here because we didn't think anyone would be out this far. I lost my friends earlier and I'm kinda lost, and then I ran into you guys." I say with my best poker face, trying to sell my blatant lie.

"Alright, good enough for me. Either way we were supposed to meet up with Thomas tommorow morning, and you being lost and finding us works to your advantage. We were just trying to get out of this forest". He says with a stare into my eyes. He knows something.

"Dimmitis!".

As he says that, the force seems to disappear as fast as it came on, letting me move again.

He then grabs me by the shoulder and we start walking, the Winchester's in tow. He then says in a quiet voice," I know you lied about being out here with your friends, but I know you're telling the truth about being Thomas' son, which is the only reason I'm not taking you in. Just stay out of trouble and we won't have any problems, alright? Now go socialize with the boys back there. We're meeting up with your father, sooner rather than later." As he says this we start walking.

He gives me a gentle yet firm push behind him. Sam immediately starts up conversation saying," Hey I'm Sam and this my brother Dean, how much do you know about our organization?"

"Well I don't really know much seeing as I don't know if you're hunters or men of letters.", I say with a smirk.

"Oh yeah, sorry about the confusion-", suddenly a hand slaps down on to Sam's shoulder.

"Remember, maybe we shouldn't tell this guy we know almost nothing about, our life story. Maybe be a little less trusting to a guy we just met", Dean says.

"Well look man, how are we going to trust each other if we don't know anything about each other . How about this, we do a little show and tell about ourselves and we can get to know each other. Then we can start the questions," I inquire.

"Sounds like a deal, you can start off", says Dean.

"Let's start with something simple. My name is Christian Richter. I'm 16, go to Beacon Hills High, and I'm a Grimm, how about you two", I say.

"Well, my name is Dean Winchester as you already know. I'm 22. I'm a trainee of The Men of Letters and I'm just a normal human", he says.

"Alright that's me then, my name is Sam Winchester. I'm 18. I'm also a trainee of The Men of Letters along my brother, and this goes without saying I'm a human", says Sam making me remember my silent promise.

Remembering something I've yet to use I think the mental command 'Inspect' on Sam.

Name: Sam Winchester

Age: 18

Height: 6'4"

Race: Human/?????

Stats: [Increase Level of Skill]

Skills: [Increase Level of Skill]

Well that was effectively useless, but if that glimpse of whatever that was earlier is of any hint he's definitely not human, or at least not fully.

"Well that wasn't so hard, ask any question you want, I just won't answer it if it's too personal", I say.

" Well as I was saying earlier, I wanted to know how much you knew about the men of letters or The Association in general", questions Sam.

"Well I know the different parts of The Association, the Human Branch, the Grimm Branch, and the Wesen Branch. I know about the different parts of the human branch, the men of letters, and then the hunters, but I don't know much else. Well that is other than my dad is a certified badass." I say.

"About that, we know most there is to know about your dad, he has quite the rapsheet," says Chris pulling his phone out of his pocket and turning it on.

" Insubordination, assault, assaulting a superior officer, forty two parking tickets.. damn this is multiple pages of misdemeanors alone," he continues showing me a official looking document titled 'Grimm Martial Police Records' and 'Thomas Richter' directly below it, along with a ton of charges for....public intoxication , wow totally didn't see that coming," Well the only reason your father isn't in prison right now is because he's so damn good at his job, believe me, I know." He looks forward flipping to a game on his phone before moving on without a word.

"Well seeing as that's all you really know we need to fill you in a little," continues Sam," Well, with the human branch, going off of the sub-branches, Men of Letters and Hunters, the Hunters are the main force of the human branch, working as grunts and doing basically everything non-magical in the human branch. There are over 5 million hunters in the United States and the most heavily populated sub-branch in the whole of The Association. All operatives in the human branch start as Hunters before moving on to the Men of Letters through acts of outstanding service, incredible ability or being a Legacy, which is if your parent was a Man or Woman of Letters and they decided their child needs to take on the mantle. Which is what we are. Now the rule of all operatives starting as hunters is still true in our case, except we basically get a shortcut in the form of a test and a trainee time period before being an official member. Fascinating, right?" Says Sam his eyes practically sparkling.

"More like, a lot, I've got to say you have a talent in rambling, and that isnt so much of criticism as it was praise. From my experience, people my age tend to be either incredibly bitchy or quiet. It's kind of like a breath of fresh air." I say with my hands in my pockets, basking in the soft light of the moon feeling a kind of warmth in my chest as it strikes my eyes.

"I would like to hear about the Grimm Branch please," I say, a pensive look dominating my features.

"Well, Dean and I don't really know much about it personally, that info is reserved for official members, but from all I've seen it's all just one big ass office. From the outside the grimm branch is just office work and working in categorizing supernatural criminals, but from rumors I've heard they have a large group of special ops Grimm ready to take down any supernatural criminal in the Association's view." Says Sam, looking like a damn golden retriever. Guess he's happy that he has someone else to talk to.

" In their official capacity they make all bounties for all the supernaturals in the world to use, enforcing their image as the cops of the Association, but I believe there is much more than that to the grimm branch," says Sam.

"So from the public's opinion my dad is a super paper-pusher," I say.

Dean speaks up saying," Actually your dad doesn't exist in the public eye, I've been doing some searching on the hunter database and your dad doesn't exist except for his record, and it's made to make him look like a weak drunkard." Chris walks forward to find a path out of here. " But from what we've heard from Chris he's most definitely a certified badass, with skin hard enough to deflect bullets and muscle strong enough to rip someone in half, he's one of the stronger Grimms but I still think there's more to him than that." Says Dean with a boyish grin.

Alright so we have a nerd and a fangirl with walls. Great, except they are being weirdly open with their feelings, the guys just met me. I'm going to keep a solid eye on these two.

By the time we're done with this conversation we have gotten to a black Chevy hemi-like car and before we get in, I stop and say something that makes Chris stop in his tracks," Where the hell are we going, I'm not stupid. It's plain common sense to not get into a stranger's car without knowing the destination".

"As I have said before we are going to see your father, and cutting short on when we were going to originally going to do it because we ran into you. Now get in the fucking car and stop asking questions, all your questions will be explained in due time", Chris says as the pupils and irises of his eyes turn a vibrant purple with black sclera , anger is evident in his gaze.

I just throw my hands up in defeat, opening the door and getting into the back seat on the right side.

We all get in the car, Chris driving, Dean sitting in shotgun and Sam sitting next to me in the back. The first few seconds I'm in the car I contemplate running only so see that I wouldnt get very far, and not to mention Chris's magic, I don't even know where to start with that stuff. They obviously don't want to kill me as they would have done it already. No matter what I do it wouldn't really matter as I would get captured again and again.

Before I begin to entertain those thoughts Chris does a hand movement before starting the car and violet runes show themselves, hovering above the interior of the car before shortly going invisible once again. I can almost feel the energy released by the sigils, like a stain you get on your eyes from staring at the sun for too long, but deep inside you.

"Those are to keep you inside of the car, not like you could get out anyway, but just in case you get any ideas", says Chris.

A rising feeling of helplessness fills my chest, like a blizzard raging around my ribcage, reducing my organs to a brittle mess. A rising sense of unease fights to rise to the surface, but I bury it down.

The car ride into town is as grueling as it was short as nobody said a word the entire time and Chris kept shooting me glares through the rear view mirror.

As we stop the car in front of my house I try to find some type of solace in finding the Chevelle sitting in the driveway, thinking that I might as well see it before I die, but instead it's not there, and instead in the garage.

Quite sad really. I love that car.

As we stop I hear Chris saying " Alright, Christian now I'm quite certain your dad isn't going to be very happy to see me so it would be wise to stand by when I open this door.

We get out of the car and approach the front door of the house, and Chris knocks, once, twice, three times before sending a heel into the door, making it fly off it's hinges.

"PRIVATE RICHTER, REPORT FOR DUTY!"
